Yeah I was referring to that, question is why start a 2nd project when the first isn't even close to being done, seems like just another means to farm.
This actually makes sense out of all the stupid shit they're doing. The biggest holdup is that they can't manage scope creep at all. Patreon income optimization heavily incentivizes this too. Basically you make more money pandering to niche demographics and adding a new quest line with a fetish than you do finishing up a quality game and moving on to a new one that's built around getting people to spend on that project in the short term. Long term this heavily impacts your income, he could be making 10-100x his currect take on patreon if he finished a quality game and dropped another one, but during development that would have heavily decreased his month to month take. Endless promises that prevent the game from moving toward completion don't. It's the exact same shit we see with star citizen.

Starting a new project to put ideas outside your current scope into as you develop is extremely smart. This is how normal non-porn software firms handle this sort of matter. You get an idea that's potentially profitable or desired but outside the scope of the projects you're working on now you put it into an idea board somewhere and if they start to coalesce into another project you start very early work (planning and establishing if it's something with a market, etc) on that without stopping the OG project.

Now what actually happens in most porn projects is that instead of this people work on a project jamming all these new things into it until it gets hard then it starts to impact their mental health and they move on to a new project that isn't so hard (at first). A lot of people think these are scammers and they might be right, but I doubt they are. I think they're just newbies to the project management/software development process from a leadership perspective.

Doesn't make it any smarter to donate to them (I definitely wouldn't and won't) but at the same time I don't think they're actively malicious, they just aren't good at the core of organizing and guiding the project.

You finally realized how futile ones action are. Your mind has, at last, opened to the truth of the cosmos!
It's impressive that some people are able to nurse their negativity for such a long time (literally half a decade) without moving on.
His inability to project manage was obvious even then.
What people usually mean when they say "hiring someone to manage the project" isn't hiring a scrum master or such, but they want someone who stops DC developing the game he wants to make him develop the game they want.

Then again, DC worked in the animation industry and quit that work even before he started working on SS. After so many years it really should be clear that he doesn't want to have kind of work environment, where you worry about the scope of your project and schedules. He was never going to hire a manager for that reason alone, so the best "we" can hope for is him hiring more hands to help. That was the case back then and it's still the case now.

In writing section there's info, that Sploosh worked on Grace/Odette/Eve stuff, so maybe branche is still possible.
Yeah, they seem to take reworking Jenny's branches somewhat serious, so there's still some small hope for Eve and Grace. I never really understood why they didn't do it in the first place, given that it doesn't require that much additional art but mainly writing and posing.

1) Why are you worrying about something that's gonna happen in 2 years at least? just take it as it comes.

2) How does he know what's going to happen in 2 years? the only answer he can give you is: "it would be nice".

3) It should be more than clear by now that they have no clue of what program planning is.
I can't wait to see the crying when the tech update has zero new content in it lmfao

I'll give em credit, other devs would of started a 2nd game already
It seems like back 2017 DC considered rushing SS to some kind of ending quickly, to start the project he actually wanted to do. Instead he went for the rig system art reworks, etc. and as such that 2nd project probably died in everything but name in early 2018.

Why you guys keep talking about a "second game" is never going to happen, pointless discussion like the AI one.

This has been a fun morning. SS was recommended to me on another site. The thumbnails showed a scene in which it looked like Annie and Lucy were giving MC a handie, and I thought "Hmm, that's hawt, I don't remember that..." So I fired up the game and found that, somehow, all of my Cookie Jar scenes were locked (I must have done this by accident in the Golden Age before the pandemic when I think I last played the game). So I ventured in here to see if there was a way to shortcut unlocking the Cookie Jar and to check on that Annie+Lucy scene, and I see the 'Abandoned' tag has finally been applied. "Surely this will quell the butthurt," thought I. "Hold my beer," says the thread.

Amazing. This thread is almost more entertaining than the game.

The fact of the matter is that it's no use getting worked up over this shit. Or rather: it's absolutely not worth it.

If I would get worked up over every person who hustles money out of people I'd be halfway to my grave from the stress of it, I'm sure. Surely there's gotta be something better to spend that time for.

This thread hasn't had a conversation that wasn't pointless in years
either we talk about the devs slow releases or something similar
or ask a question about the game that people will be annoyed about
so it doesn't matter until the mods lock this thread (most likely wont happen)

It's reasonable to expect that, when income hits a certain point, there develops a degree of professionalism to warrant that financial support. If that doesn't happen it's not unreasonable to criticise it. Supporting and defending amateurish and unprofessional actions that receive professional levels of renumeration is cultlike behaviour.

What I mean by a project manager is someone who manages workflow and is, effectively, a scrum master. So take your strawman and stick it where it belongs because you don't know me. This project has needed a project manager for over 5 years. That it doesn't have one is why a "two month tech update" has taken over 2 years. That's unconscionable.

DC may not want to work in that environment but he's being paid to work in that environment. He is in control of his income. He could, and has failed to, pause his subscriptions while this farce has been ongoing. He could have, but has failed to, be honest with his supporters. He could have done a myriad of actions that would have marked him as an honest person. He failed. He's a grifter. It's not unreasonable to call grifters out.

I bet you want a Cybertruck.

@Hefelo yes that's the image that was thumbnailed.

I should've noted I got the Cookie Jar thing sorted on my own before posting. I mean, it's not like there's any new content to worry about.

People repeat themselves because they dont have anything better to do.

Moderators keep the same topic to go on and on, who knows why, and mark anything else as OFF TOPIC.

For last, peoples concerning about DC revenue is hilarious, as they keep meltdowns because they feel jealous and envious about what he gains each month, and all of these guys here are FREELOADERS, never payed anything. Great moral to speak yeah.
There are other games with great update delay, but you dont see them screaming about...
... Oh wait, those other games have less than 50 patreons, and Dev make 150 dollars each month, so they dont care in these cases. Its all about the DC revenue, NOT about how long or when DC will release the new update.
Plus these people here hate people who think differently. Because they think as a...
MOB.
a small amount of people (myself included) supported DC at some point
so it doesn't matter if we supported or not in these threads in all honesty.

I don't remember how I found out about SS, it was in late 2018 or early 2019 I think... then because of SS I found F95, not sure if for most it's the other way round.
I enjoyed SS a lot, it somehow just hit the right spot at the right time for me, the style, the story and the characters. I then supported DC on Patreon for about 14 to 16 months during the COVID times (minimum pledge of $1 a month) until the updates dried up and there was nothing happening I stopped.

I get the hate for no updates and new content that is just not coming, I then stopped the support, so not sure about the whole circlejerk in here, if you're not happy, then stop paying, if you don't care go on and continue supporting him, that's up to the person I say. if you play this game for free what's there to complaint? move on...

not going to lie, the drama in here is amazing, it brings me back everyday to just see the usual haters and lovers egg on and jerk each other off with lame snipes.

I'm on both sides somehow if that's possible, I want more updates but also if nothing ever will happen then that's fine.
I've gave him under $20 in the past few years, no biggie, a Maccas meal cost more these days.

my 10 cents... I'm out!

keep the cringe going in here!
