i agree with you somewhat .. i liked part1 of pine falls .. i thought part2 was not as good as it could have been ... but what the hell do i know
I know mrdots alternates between dmd and this game, but it seems like he didnt push an update to either last month. Did he purposedly miss a month or is there 2 updates coming?

Wat??? Maybe you should go check the release dates in the OPs again...
The updates are on a 5 week schedule. DMD was updated in May, this game in June and DMD again in July. They haven't missed any updates.

Ok time for people to hate me again.
This game is the worst game Mr. Dots has put out. Melody was good not as great as some people think it is but it is good. DmD is a masterwork in Progress. This is just a mess.
First you do not need the whole Dad goes to Sunshine Bay part at all. The pieces that are needed for the story could have been added in in flash backs. This would have given some well was the MC a dick or is Sis just saying he was to the story. Insread we know he was a dick we know her version of event is more true then his.
Second Nicole. She also does not need to be in the story at all. She was used for early lewd acts but really not adding much to the story and is a block at could have jest been left off screen. She even gives him the "find what we really want" line before he goes. Normal girl speak for I want this strange D and if i don't like it i want you to fall back on. So we go down and already have a girl we "know" is breaking up with us to a city where the Main Love Interest is so as a player we already care less then nothing for her.
Third Character overload. For the first week we are meeting too many people. You did not need Ashley to show up yet. You did not need Jaz. There are 5 girls that you can say are need for that first week, Sis, Cus, Vicky and the Twins. These are the ones that will more the plot of opening the hotel forward. Ashley could have shown up after the Hotel was open for a bigger impact then showing up second day down there. Jaz also would have a bigger impact after the opening.
Fourth Too many damn gimmicks. You have Peeping Tom to hide content while this is for patrons the code is easy to get but it is still a gimmick and worse it is placed in a bad spot it should have an always on choice. Next is the Doughnut hunt this could have been something to add in later to give people another reason to replay but adding it in now just feels like another way to wall off content and with how slow the story is going that does not feel good.

When you call that mess DmD is a masterwork, you already went wrong.
the fact that it is early is not a reason to ignore the problems with the start in fact you could say this is the best time to do so because now would be the best time to fix it if it is ever going to be fixed
a Masterwork does not mean it has no issues and as i said in progress so can it all go to shit yes don't think it will but my views will not be your views.
It already went shit, ever since chapter 2. D turned into a straight retard, and the MC, instead of bringing her up, follows suit in this. Not to mention that it became utterly mundane.
As for the things you listed, I can only agree with the last one, too much gimmicks. Getting the Dad situation at the very beginning was better, because you won't really need to care about that anymore, that's why I found the Gerard sex flashback annoying. Nicole is obviously there for to be a stall, and for the initial drama, but aside from that, at least she gives a somewhat equal footing for the MC with sister. They both have someone, and it's one more reason why the MC has a lot to loose if shit goes down.
I like that it has numerous characters already, and it's not a singular focus like Melody or DmD was. Ashely needed to show up, she's a key player, not for the hotel, but for the family part of the story. Jaz, well that's right, she's early as of now, but if her content is minimalized for now, it's gonna be okay.
Don't get me wrong, I have my problems with the game, though those are different from the ones you have, but compared to DmD or even Melody, this one is already off for a better start. I just hope Dots wont Dots it too much.

I didn't bother to even finish DMD's first chapter. I have no idea what happened to Lucas.

Only 2 or 3 sex scenes ,but enough contents to read and it's a good start of a good story IMO. And also doughnuts hunting minigames are kind of fun
