Full disclosure, this is the first time I loaded the game in months! last played this game till v.0.4 or something, so I might forget if something did happen to mc to make him like this.
I just got to that point too. I'm convinced the writers are aliens in the style of 3rd rock from the sun. None of the character interactions are even remotely what a human would do or say...

No kidding. There was a scene in one of the games where the characters were in a camera store and the dialogue was like if two sentient Wikipedia entries were having a conversation.

Just started playing a day or so ago. (First in-game weeks still)
Very nice so far, but the MC is a very unlikable character for me at this stage. (I get that his GF is a bit bitchy as well, but he just irritated me, since he arrived at Sunshine beach.)

Is it just me? Does he get better as the game get's on?

not easy to say so maybe.
Maybe I should expand On why I dislike him. He seems petty with a stick up his arse. I get that what his "stepsister" did was twisting the truth and I get why got upset, but he seems to bring it up quite frequently after that.

All the leads he follows up to help him were introduced by his "step-sis", but he gives almost no credit for it to her, instead he seems to think that he will basically be the saviour of the Hotel.

He feels like a kind of know-it-all type of person, without having any real expertise in the business he is about to rescue. Some humility along with trying to be more of a team player would go along way IMO.

Then how he deals with his dad's ex, I found baffling. Not wanting to talk to her about why they broke up. Same with his rule with his stepsis about not talking about their past while working... I mean why not?

I know it sounds like I'm shitting on the game. Please rest assure, I'm not. I truly enjoy the game, But my initial impressions of the MC is not great. He's not a complete asshole, but not really my cup of tea.

One of the reasons why I never finished the game....

MC is a total dweeb....

The MC is a total twat. And also completely unaware of anything going on around him, which in many games is endearing, but not here.
Phew... Thanks, so it's not just me that found the MC a bit off putting to put it mildly.

Great game otherwise. I liked what they did with his GF. Not totally unlikable, but also being a bit of a bitch at times. Like a more realistic female partner instead of the normal (Unrealistic) always cool, cute and never angry GF.

I actually like her. (Remember, I'm still in week one, so I do not know what happens down the line)

Does someone have a patched andriod version?
My unofficial compressed android port of Sunshine Love 1.0.0 with scrappy walk through and gallery mod.
Compressed to about a gig
Gestures etc included.
Removed the clunky on/off textbox and added Seethru Textbox % in game options
Added scrollable textbox
Alternative persistent saves/log location
Grant storage permissions on first run!

Edit: fixed some buttons appearing behind textbox

Merry Christmas everyone!
here....

I lost a lot of playing time over the holidays and have only recently caught up with a number of VNs of which this is one. So thanks for the update! I very much enjoyed playing it. Unlike some, I had no problem with the forced scene with the twins, but I'm hot for them anyway. Loved the progression with the others. Mr. Dots, you folks get a lot of flak here on F95. It's mostly undeserved, and this VN is certainly far above the average. Looking forward to more updates to both games in 2022.

Yup, everything that helps the business never was the mc's doing, at least till week 3 I'm in.

Isn't he supposed to be co-owner and said he is in charge if sister/childhood friend isn't available? why can't he decide for himself? no wonder he lost his job :ROFLMAO:

Also what mc said wasn't close to being the truth, this is what he thought to himself before saying "The truth"
View attachment 1603340
The real reason he offered his own room was because he was afraid the room he was going to take her to hasn't been cleaned :ROFLMAO:

I mean, why wouldn't they?
If this was a real hotel I think it would be out of business quick.

EDIT: I finally continued the story and this is what Shortcake thought about mc's decision

I thought at first it was just a stupid porn logic and writing in full throttle, but I now I think there's something wrong with mc's head... still just like how most story goes... he will be called a genius later on.

I believe the issue is offering a room when the hotel technically isn't open for guests. My impression of the early part of the game and set up is that the hotel was presently closed down and not accepting guests while "Sis" was trying to get things in proper shape to have guests. They don't have enough employees to maintain the place as of this point in the game (they're getting there, but not there yet), or to feed them, etc. Putting someone in a room comes with expectations of a certain level of services (sheets, towels, cleaning, maintaining the mini bar, etc.). Of course, I have a hospitality background, so it makes sense to me. It likely doesn't make sense to someone that may not have that kind of experience.

You just got fired when you were expecting a promotion and a brown nose prick got the job instead. Your GF is more worried about your share of the mortgage than whether or not you might be in a bad place with all of this, and you apparently live in the gloomiest city on the planet. You go to a paradise with the expectation of helping an old friend, catching up, and earning some decent cash when there, then you get it sprung on you that there is no cash, you're expected to be a savior, and you're thousands of miles away from the person with whom you are supposed to be closest.

How do you feel? Charitable? Happy? Or ready to drop kick the next person that puts their problems on you and expects for you to fix them?

If all you want in a game is a MC that is the alpha-dude-stud that simply fucks everything with a cunt and doesn't give two shits about anyone, well, this isn't the game for you. If you are up for a little dab of almost realistic reactions from someone, well, stick around.

But, yes, the dialogue could be better. I think it may be a matter that English is not the first language of the writers so things don't flow as naturally as they would if someone like me were to write the dialogue. Or, maybe they are and they failed English and weren't fond of lit. If they were always playing with computers and searching for porn, that could be the case. ;)

See it's likely that I forgot the plot of the game cause I don't remember if the hotel accepting guest or not. But still, why can't he just say the truth? what he said to Connie was not the full truth, why can't he just say the hotel isn't open for public?. It is quite obvious because when he said to Connie "if you are hungry or thirsty, there's vending machine you can use" instead of offering food. He deflected by mentioning his sister/childhood friend instead who's not present rather than taking responsibility to explain as co-owner.

Also Shortcake thought to herself shortly after hearing mc's decision was "sister/childhood friend had no problem with Jazmin staying. Even before paying, so what's different now?" though I don't remember exactly what happened to Jazmin that sister/childhood friend allowed her to stay at the hotel. Was it before she knew she is a masseuse?

Still if I was Connie it is a huge red flag when mc offered his own room, I'd rather get the hell out of the hotel right away :ROFLMAO:.

Also sorry if I what I type is kinda all over the place, English not my first language and headache not a good combo o_O

EDIT: Also I just remembered, how the hell then can they hold a big wedding event for a famous musician in the (game) world that also have the guests stayed at the hotel... mc also left the hotel that have no staffs and guests unchecked then looked for sister/childhood friend and had lunch with Jazmin OUTSIDE the hotel :ROFLMAO:.

No I think you misunderstand me... maybe.

I do understand the MC's shitty situation, his bitchy GF and the fact that his step-sis lied to him and him loosing his job. I also enjoy the game so far and don't shit on the game and/or writing. I also don't expect an alpha-fuck-all girls MC (For the record, WVM where you play such an MC sucks balls for me).

What I dislike is after his initial blowout about her bending the truth. He keeps her on a line for at least a few days. Rather say no outright, or tell her she sucked doing that, but that you will agree to help her out. Keeping her waiting for a few days....not so nice.

Then he keeps on fighting with his step-sis over assumptions on what she might have thought, throwing his previous argument against her, in her face again. (For me using this tactic of bringing back old arguments when fighting a different argument is actually quite a low blow and tells me something about his character that I dislike )

Him acting like he's the main guys saving her business when all he did was following up on her original leads without giving her any credit is also not something I like and tells me another thing I dislike about his character.

I actually had a lot of sympathy for him in the prologue, although he did let his GF walk all over him, but he turned into a bit of an all knowing ass since he arrived at the hotel. As a side note, the way he allows his GF to treat him vs the way he treats his long lost step-sis also speaks volumes for me.

To be sure, he's not the worst MC ever written and is by no stretch of the imagination a bad person. But he has some serious character flaws and unfortunately his character flaws are just the type of things that really grind my gears. In RL I would probably not be good friends with a guy like the MC.

MC's that I like does not need to be a goody 2 shoes. The MC in "No more secrets" for instance were much more of an ass, but I still liked him more and the fact that he was openly and asshole at times also portrays a no BS type of person for better or worse. (The opposite of a friendzone guy)

TLDR; The MC is not a terrible person, but during the game he portrays some personality traits that really rubs me the wrong way. I actually think he is well written in the sense that he is written (Maybe unintentional) as a MC with character flaws. I just happen to really dislike his character flaws.
