Inded.Тhanks for official answer. It is interesting vision.
Yeah, it's a hell of a job to do everything from scratch. I've made a few myself, mainly video game heroines. The first was the legendary Lara Croft of course. I remember spending about 4 hours painting all the smallest details until my eyes were about to pop out of their sockets. The other thing about 3D printing is that after it's printed it still has to be painted. Unless you sell them unpainted and let the client paint it themselves. Or offer an option to get it either way, but charge more for painted.
But both can work. A friend who is into miniature modeling told me that depending on the original product (games, animations and others) that he sells between 20 and 30% of figurines to paint yourself. It even offers kits for those who want to add their own finishing touches. It seems that otakus and other nerds are crazy about it.
You can also delegate part of the work, either to model and obtain the stl file and even the file configured in Gcode, or for painting. There are specialists for everything these days. For a moderate cost, it's a big time saver.
Like all ambitions, it is a bet that must be measured carefully
