It's because of the Locale Emulator. If you change global system Administrative language settings for Non Unicode Apps to Japanese the game texts will look OK, but this can cause some issues on other programs specially if they have to deal with non english characters.can anyone tell me how to fix all the weird text issues in the game? i see screenshots being shared where they are fine but mine are messed up still. (HP, MP, month, even stuff in the settings menu as well as title screen when trying to load, the times are not readable.)
I've never had to change off of Japanese Locale, pretty much every type of symbol seems to work with it for me. The only conflicts I've seen while staying on it is that sometimes, archaic installers will use your locale instead of your system language (resulting in the installer text being in Japanese). It's because of the Locale Emulator. Precisely. That's the setting that will cause issues with other programs if these use non english caracters like ñ ¿ ¡ as it replaces these with japanese characters.I've never had to change off of Japanese Locale, pretty much every type of symbol seems to work with it for me. Adding onto this for clarity: the ONLY thing you need to change is your system locale. Everything else can stay in whatever you had it before.
View attachment 4181640 Make sure you do NOT check the UTF-8 beta. It will cause conflicts with some Japanese games. There is no reason to turn it on, as far as I'm aware.
from as late as you can in the night, and from the village that they are from. go south west tell you reach the spots of the forest where you see one empty spot closet to the forest edge on the right and 3 from the next clear area on that row. go back and forth tell sun comes up enough to show the location by seeable glow change.I'm struggling with the Elf village quest. Someone wrote From this thread that you have to wait until night but I can't find the exact location.

There's a town that is known for its woodworking skills, Mockel. I think it's southwest of Danan.Anyone knows how to do quest 2? "Get a Premium Barrel", tells me to find someone that is knowledgeable about wood, tried talking to the builder at main base and some other npcs but idk (maybe im braindead)
This is being caused by incorrect encoding. Your locale emulation isn't working properly, or you extracted the files wrong (probably the first one). Go to the Installation tab on page 1 and read through the Japanese Encoding link.Anyone knows how to fix this error? This only happens when I start Chapter 1. When I tried to open the party menu just before leaving the Village Prologue it was working perfectly but as soon as I enter Chapter 1 it just shows this. Is this a temporary error or does it persist throughout the game. If so, does anyone have a working folder or the missing file so I can patch it. I've tried to ignore this issue but I just can't so please if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, King. Your suggestion was correct, and it was indeed the Locale Emulator. It's just strange that it doesn't work for this particular game. Do you have a clue about a possible fix? Switching to Japanese Locale makes me feel that I'm going to mess up something with my PC and I feel compelled to switch back to English Locale after playing. This is being caused by incorrect encoding. Sadly no, Locale Emulator isn't perfect, and this game's code is WAY too chaotic for it. I've left my PC on Japanese locale for years. There's 3 things I've noticed it changes, but they're all pretty negligible IMO:Thanks, King. Your suggestion was correct, and it was indeed the Locale Emulator.
