Not just while in gossip mode, i have bug also at school cafeteria.
I did install compressed 0.26.02 version and used Mod simple Full cheat 0.3.1.

When you start a new game, the variable player.schoolrep_cheerleader is not initialized, and game scratch when you socialize in school.
For Fix:
When you start new game, open console, with SHIFT+O, and type this:
player.schoolrep_cheerleader=0
