Fair enough. Is the new game good by the way?
On the plus side, conceptually it's way better. Leveling skills feels like it has more of an an actual impact and there's less of a directionless sandbox feeling. I think the sex scenes are generally sexier and there is or will be more freedom to develop girls in specific ways. I think the girls are generally higher quality and don't just feel like they're there for tiddies.

Down side, it has the same same grind issues as Superpowered, but without mods (though you can just edit your saves to the same effect) to speed it up. It's also earlier in development and there isn't much ability to do kinky stuff yet with a lot of the cast. Tying into that, it feels in terms of porn the game is more backloaded but that we're still at the start of the story for a lot of characters. You can also get locked out of early content by not having developed the necessary skills and you can't always go back to see older scenes. For example, I didn't know on my first playthrough that you can mess with the MC's older sister when she's passed out after work. There's also issues in pacing with not being able to skip through time really quickly or with a lot of control, which is an issue if all you need to work on is, say, partying with Becky.

The downsides paragraph is longer but overall I think it's significantly better, just in need of some fine tuning and more releases.

Okay, setting aside Loser, do we know what the next update here is going to contain? I don't see any kind of roadmap on the patreon.

I found Loser almost completely directionless. I mean, the player may have personal goals on how to adjust the folk around him, but there is no reason to other than personal enjoyment. You aren't working towards something other than unlocking scenes. I also found the main system less intuitive than Superpowered. Getting started, even with the tutorial, is brutal.

For Superpowered, I would guess some amount of filling in those things missed from previous builds on his last roadmap: the other jobs at school, completing nurse Anne's fetish, working on the Globex jobs. Maybe we'll see some of the float content: college skills, the last 3 powers, or the next level of Ops appearing.

exact definition for "sandbox" tag i suppose.
completely fine for "to avoid burn out" work.

Sandboxes don't have to be directionless. Superpowered, for example, starts as a sandbox that offers an initial direction (graduate or get reclaimed! gain more superpowers!). The pixie chain does interfere with the sandbox because of how it is constructed and intertwines nonsensically with those goals. Sandboxes just require allowing the player to make meaningful choices. Sandboxes can degenerate into "rowboat in the middle of the ocean" play where the player is making their choices blindly and seemingly without impact. Establishing external goals can help the player have initial direction and gauge progress.

Loser looks like a decent game for those that like it. The art is crisper which is not surprising because tech has changed in the 5 years since Superpowered has been under development. I'm sure working with the new platform is a breath of fresh air for the dev.

actually you talking about sandbox elements in plot-based games. sandbox itself it`s were you entertaining yourself using elements provided by developer. constructing your own plot by playing as you like to play(every day life genre in "loser"). no directions, no ending. not so much elements to play with but already good for couple evenings of gameplay
ps loser now in much earlier state of development then SP, so no point to compare (also it created for fun and venting pressure, so it not need the plot at all)

Sandbox play is play where the players choices remain mostly unconstrained by the game elements. It is a one end of a continuum with the other end being a railroad / visual novel where the player is effectively offered no choices. Computers games, especially graphical ones, can't be wholly unconstrained as the dev needs to create allowance for the situations to exist at a minimum by having the world adapt and react appropriately. We can't murder anyone at the high school, for an example of a constraint on choice inside Superpowered.

Sandbox play does not rule out either initial assigned objectives nor events occurring that impact the MC and world. It doesn't need them necessarily, but they can exist in sandbox play. That more comes down to the difference between a game and a toy. A game should define a goal whereas a toy can be used any way the user wants.

that quite subjective. and outdated. most mmo games disagree with you. and sandboxes (define the goal of minecraft for example)
sandbox can have plot-line within. or to be without it. if process entertaining enough it can go without plot. in my humble opinion of course. for now in the "superpowered" you have not much content to play with after plot ends, so it`s plot-based in fact. despite of sandbox-like architecture.

i like loser a lot better. superpowered seems more like a directionless sandbox to me. there's a bunch of girls you can interact with, and although all the girls are different, they're mostly all broken down using the same methods. loser you steer the girls down certain paths, which i find interesting. exploring and finding different things in their schedules seems a lot more fun too, whereas in super powered i remember some events that happen on random. the cast is a lot smaller so you get more content per person and the scenarios are more interesting to me. and obviously the art. the art is more modern and more to my liking.

So I've stumbled into problem with Tamara, didn't raise her Favor/Love/Lust early enough, and got locked out of the quest.
Found out that if that happens you're screwed.
Well I've tried Online Save Editor and found line: story1 > tamara_suspicious which was valued at 3, lowered it to 0 and I can tutor her again, but nothing happens with Freddy on Monday.

And I've managed to Proceed the questline next Monday, papers are signed club is in session. (guess I'll miss out on Sis stuff tho lol)

Save Editor in question.

i really really like this game ... but why the updates take so long?.. is it abandoned?
No. The dev was burning out a year or so ago and decided to start a second game and work on them sequentially. Last year, he alternated months. This year, with his patrons blessing, he shifted to spending 2 months on a game before moving to the other. Superpowered got updated end of Jan. Feb and March were spent working on Loser. April he started working on Superpowered again. We should see an update towards the end off May-ish.

Isn't there an android version available??? Because the provided link only leads to the compressed pc and mac versions.
