Just made the fifth (yeah, I know) pre-alpha build available to testers. I expect to have the proper alpha up on Patreon tomorrow. Public release shouldn't be too far away.
Once this release is public I'll get things back to normal as far as Patreon posting goes but for the past month or more I've been putting all of my time into writing and coding, refactoring most of the shitty foundational code that has been in place since I started TP having never used Ren'Py or even Python.
Thanks for your support and thanks to everyone who has helped with testing. As always, feel free to get a hold of me on here or on Discord.
Here it is. I've got no time tonight but tomorrow I'll make a post tomorrow detailing what is possible to reach at the moment and how to reach it. I've left a patch.rpy file in the /game folder which you can edit to tweak the game balance. "gain_rom_mod" for example adds that value to romance each time romance is gained. The letters obviously correspond to the girls.
Feel free to fool around with to make progress slower or faster as you please, I just sort of threw some numbers in there that seemed OK but could be way off. Also, console commands are simplified so you can just, for example, change m.romance = 200 without having to use any other function as you had to in the past. Just make sure to set m.interested = True before making any romance changed.
Anyway, again I'll go in to more depth tomorrow about things you can do to help with testing or just seeing the content you want to see, but it's past my bedtime.
Thanks you very much for you support.
In hastily making last minute fixes I ended up introducing some potentially game-breaking bugs last night that weren't present in the previous build. My bad. This version should fix those and also comes with a few minor changes that I implemented since this morning. If you happen to have started a game with the previous version there shouldn't be any issues with save compatibility.
Change log:
1.9981
- changed kait intro so that the proper images were shown in context, removed references to cheerleading (since she's not wearing the outfit in that scene now)
- fixed crash on meeting kait in the locker room (there was an extra space before the file extension, whoops)
- fixed crash on giving theater tickets
- no longer get dialogue from that girl when drinking in her room if she's not present
- transition to break is now a view of the empty classroom, not simply a black screen

In addition to bug fixing and working out several new scenes that exist in the current build, I added a few new scenes today to account for the lack of corruption possibilities at home. I finished off one of the major animations for this version; it is presently rendering.
I had hoped to release the second alpha build today but I certainly want to wait until that animation is in. It'll be 3 hours or more before it finishes, at which point it will require some Photoshop work and piecing together in Premiere so it's looking more likely that the second alpha release will be tomorrow.
Pre-alpha testers did a great job and it doesn't look like bugs are going to be much of a hurdle from here on out. The rest of the work is mostly finishing up/polishing incomplete or rough scenes and renders. And maybe attempting to balance the game a little for those people who play without cheats--assuming those people exist.
Considering you basically told us all ONE post before his, it's understandable.have banned the first person from this thread for begging for updates, i don't wanna be mean skunk, but you know the rules...
As an actual topic of discussion, what do you guys think about the quantity of girls in this game? While I like the ones there currently are and I am looking forward to seeing their stories develop, I think it would be interesting if there were some more, and not necessarily students but also other teachers.
Do you want a bug filled game? Be patient. I would rather few girls that way he can concentrate on them and the writing which I find hilarious. It opens up more story for the few girls we have along with different routes we can take with them.More's not always better. Don't want it becoming Something Unlimited with so many girls and little story progression.Did he? Must be hell of a bugs when he need 10 days to exterminate them. Or it could be that he used those days to finish renders and animations he lied he did before december 31st?
For now I agree with botc76. We have a nice mix of characters based both on age AND personalities. Later, when the game has advanced and the current character have been developed it might be nice to SLOWLY add more. The problem that I have with new characters being added early is that they slow the development of all characters. As an actual topic of discussion, what do you guys think about the quantity of girls in this game? @Pepé Le Pew really dont want to see mean skunk That being said to clarify what is going on heres the rundown. We have had a tonne of pre alpha builds. Sadly as we found bugs and they were fixed deem broke other parts of the game. It has been a nightmare so far. A few renders were below quality standards so they needed re doing. A tonne of animations got stuck in loop cycles and during that bug we noticed some serious problems with the animations. I am pleased however to add that deem is finaly adding the final touches and if all goes to plan the second patreon alpha will be the last. We appologise for the delay but these things do happen. Please feel free to point your anger towards @Bilbo Swaggeens @DarthHelmet @Dasati they kept breaking the damn builds. We are refraining from making promises due to a serious miscalculation of how the alphas would go. Nothing has worked out the way we thought it would. Once again on behalf of deem his testers and us mods/admins we appreciate your support, patience and understanding.
I don't want bugged version either. But I don't think that is the case here. If you read posts on patreon you can see: 1- apparently game was completed on december31st. 2- it was filled with bugs and release was stoped. 3- out of nowhere on january 6th dev speaks how he is finishing some renders and animations and game should be released soon. ... How? if game was completed on 31.12.?! Only things he possibly could do at that stage was bug fixing, not rendering and animating. And that's what's buggs me. What I'm pointing here. To me it seems that he wasn't completely honest with players. Instead of saying "I wasn't able to finish when I said I will, it will take few days more to finish some renders and animations, be patient"...(Everytinhg ok, no problems, it happening.) he staged some bug hunt/fix to buy more time to finish renders and animations he speaks about on january 6th.Do you want a bug filled game? Be patient.
It had been months and people weren't tired of complaining and begging for updates that weren't out. As far as popularity of the game goes, people will forget about the game yes but when they see it on the recently updated list they'll forget all about their complaints and jump back in.People would tire themselves after day or 2 and stopped
Definetly not, but when you assume everyone here is not a patreon you are throwing baby out with bathwater when you piss off actual patreons by calling them names while you act as developer representativeSomehow I doubt most of them pay a single dollar to support Irredeemable.
The answer to that is in my post. We noticed during bugs poor quality renders and animations that had serious flawsI don't want bugged version either. But I don't think that is the case here. That's fact. How someone can do renders and animations on january 6th if he completed them on december 31st?!
