1)
- The new Travelling system will benefit the game in the long run, it opens tons of possibilities.
- The new Patreon rules made deem rewrite a lot of parts of the story. This changed the game for the better.
- There are no cookies in the game
2) There will be penetration in the game. It will surprise you.
Keep in mind that deems contact with patreon was stricter than the contacts of some of the other devs, plus this game broke multiple of the new guidelines. The hacks also didn't help.
TL;DR: This game still rocks and it will have a bright future.

I like this game, a lot. It's probably one of my three favourite games of the type in development right now and I admit that when I read about the boatload of problems Irredeemable got due to patreon, I was and am very sympathetic, that being said, if I believed he was bullshitting his patreons and making shitty decisions, I would call that out as well.
Though, tbh, I think as long as I'm just leeching someone's work, without paying for the development, profiting from the time and money others spend on it, there is a limit to the amount of shit you should raise.
And tbh, I have more problems when the story/the ingredients of a game veer off into weak territory then with waiting a few days longer than the dev said initially.
I mean, for fuck's sake most of us here in this thread aren't paying for it anyway, complaining about delays and being insulting and arrogant over it, that is just entitlement, IMO.

are the alpha releases not being uploaded to this forum? 1.998 seems a bit far from the 1.6 thats on here...

The game has been drastically retooled because of the Patreon content guidelines AND there will be tons of new content.

The alpha releases are strictly for Deem's mods and testers. The reason for this so far theres been alot of game breaking bugs. At one point deem had to release 3 alpha builds in a single day. For example as Jmolle2 mentioned, one build had a bug which caused the animations to be stuck in a loop, so the moment you encountered one that was it you literally couldn't do anything. Wouldn't be fun for you guys to play that, and Deem's reputation would take a hit for such a buggy game so test builds have a restricted release. The final general release version will be uploaded on here though once its out.
OK, got a couple of questions for what to expect.
1) will we be able to talk to the characters more than once each day? For myself I wanted more opportunities to talk to 'D' (and others).
2) how many daily time periods are there?? While I don't want 20 hourly interaction periods where we need to skip 10-15, it would be nice to maybe have a bit more time. For myself I wanted a morning at home and maybe a before classes started plus after classes times added. So do we get more time slots or still what we had before? (the old was good for limiting skips, but was a bit limiting).

With the amount of changes to the internal code of the game (and there's been MASSIVE changes under the hood), 'deem decided that instead of making v1.7 (which was the original plan), that he'd jump forward the numbering to v2.0. The 1.99x alpha versions that the testers (and I'm one of them) have been playing are the alphass, and the official final patreon release version will be the first of the v2.0 codebase.
Just as an example as to how much code has been changed, the v1.632 release from before the patreon disaster happened has 495kb of scripts (so nearly a half million characters worth of ren'py code), and the current v1.9985 alpha has 319kb of scripts. "That's less code" you say? Yes - it's less code, but we've got both more content and less code making it happen, which means that 'deem has tightened up his code by over 35% and still managed to deliver both a code update AND more ingame content (a total rework & expansion of Kait's storyline, and a chunk more content for Sara, Meg, FEx, and even a bit for the wife), and he totally reworked the plot for anything involving MC, which means that all of the girls are romance-able, instead of just slipping them a hotpants mickey and getting busy with it.
'Deem has been a busy boy - realistically I expect that after the hacking disaster, his new year's deadline just kinda snuck up on him and he ran out of time, but as somebody who's done projects like this on self-imposed deadlines, I can sympathize - it's a huge project, he has no programming help (nor the finances to hire somebody), and let's be honest - he's building a porn game, so no developer with a name worth mentioning would touch this with a ten foot pole. I'm just honored that he let me join in the testing, which despite the bugs was a whole lot of fun.

And as previously stated its jumped from 1.6 to 2.0 as this is the reworked version. I try my hardest to communicate with everyone who has questions and attempt to be constructive and friendly with people. I try my hardest but sometimes its just not worth it. I spend alot of time talking to the devs i support including deem. I know most of what goes on behind the scenes as well as planned content. As i stated previously i only make statements based on facts not what im told. Even when i post deadlines i state its gunna be longer if thats my opinion. I try my hardest as does the other admins to post teasers, images and updates. None of us have any reason to lie or mislead people @Potato and i are only posting things we know as fact. Anywho im taking a step back for today. There was a reason i requested this thread locked before. And that reason was everyone going off topic and attacking each other smh or starting flame wars. I have no issue with questions, criticism or doubters. But the personal attacks and argueing is not needed. I had a convo about the ntr in my girlfriends amnesia with the testers the other day. And as they will tell you it was not an argument it was a convo a proper discussion were no one was wrong and no one was judged. Maybe try to have conversations in this thread instead of arguments. Thats all from me. Much respect to you all. We appreciate your support and patience.

1) Currently it's like previous versions. Can ask general stuff like "how was your day?" once a day, and event specific stuff like D's little fashion show in her room.

All of her dialogue etc is the same, except now in the base game shes a Foreign Exchange Student whose staying with you. As Potato said though there will be a patch released for those who want to turn her back into Daughter.

Hm, seducing a foreign exchange student is pretty hot as well, not quite as fascinatingly amoral then seducing your teenage daughter, but still.
I'll probably at least try the regular version.

Off the top of my head, in terms of basic conversations, like asking how was your day etc, nothing new. But there's new/reworked events which can produce different dialogues depending on when you trigger them. There's one event which involves the Wife and Daughter/exchange student which has some hilarious dialogue options.
