Did you even play it?
Gameplay has changed quite a bit:
>there's no party | this isn't new, a lot of Acerola games have just the main character with optional party members
>MP is replaced by SP | this isn't new, that's just a relabel of MP, it works the same as other Wolf RPG games
>you have "pet" in the battle (has passive debuff for enemy and can attack or defend) | this isn't new and contradicts your "no party" statement, it's just an AI party member that isn't optional
>h-attacks are changed to quick-time events (so if you trying to keep heroine "pure" you can avoid them) | this isn't new
>manual leveling with currency (semen) is replaced by XP, stat boosting with semen is replaced by talent tree | also not new, you can purchase skills with semen in other games, you can also power up with EXP in those too, like in Claire
>they added difficulty selection | which does nothing but change a few values like Skyrim's idea of "difficulty" yes please turn down my regen.. oh nooo....
>they added "action dungeons"... | uhuh....
>For acerola game - there's a lot of changes in gameplay. I'd say AC:Valhalla changed less compared to AC:Odyssey than Tear compared to Collete or Clair, lol. | No it didn't, and funnily enough I don't have a rebuttal to comparing it to AC because those games are formulaic as fuck just like this one. Also "what about"-isms are shitty arguments.
First of all, I only mentioned what's different in gameplay compared to previous acerola RPGs, no matter if those changes are good, bad or if something like this was done by some other devs (that's not the points, we are talking about acerola specifically).
1. Party: from their RPGs only one game had solo heroine like this one (Knight Cynthia iirc).
2. MP->SP: it's not like MP, it's completely different mechanic - it's more like "TP" (technique points), except it recovers with time instead performing actions, taking damage, attacking, etc. MP gives a pool of skills to cast during the fight and you can spend one turn to recover it with potions to continue using skills while SP adds resource management mechanic because it recovers only fixed amount per turn.
3. It's not AI party member because it has 2 in battle and it's invincible - also, which other acerola game has it?
4. Quick-time h-attacks and also lack of ero-skills in new in acerola RPG (which was the point of discussion). Previous RPGs have random h-attacks and heroine gets fucked right away, while in Tear you can avoid it completely.
5. You don't purchase skills with semen in other acerola games - you get them via leveling and you can't pick what you get. In this game it's separated and you have to choose how you will progress in the talent tree (or grind everything but who has time to farm in a porn game).
6. Difficulty: well, it's better than nothing and it allows gameplay to stay relevant even if you lewd heroine a lot which was an issue in their previous games. You actually have to "play" the game even if you make the heroine a semen demon.
7. Action dungeons: while they are not great, it's a mini-game that offers a change of pace to normal gameplay.
8. Shitty arguments or not, I don't know what kind of expectations you have and what kind of innovation you expect from an indie porn game where gameplay, let's be honest, is just an addition to porn content.
Also, don't get me wrong - this game is not great, even for acerola standards. It's more of less the same shit again, which is kind of disappointing because you'd expect at least a bigger improvement. But if you say that gameplay is the same, I will disagree because it's actually the part that changed the most compared to their previous RPGs, even if those changes are not really good - at least not all of them...
Some times that I did not follow the release date. Didn't know it was finished translated and released. =P
But... How the fuck this one is released before Demon Queen Melissa? xD Did they give-up on it? It's originally the same studio (Acerola) and Demon Queen Melissa was announced ... 2 years ago... something like that... T_T Despair fill my goblins heart... I want to be in comunion with my Demonic Mistress... And it's impossible if we talk 2 different language. =P
As you can probably notice - newer games have a priority and everything else is probably worked on when they have free time.
Standard Acerola japanese h-rpg.
You can probably count on one hand all h-rpgs released in the recent year that do things drastically different, instead just making cosmetic changes to the formula.
From 2020 I only remember recent Pray Game that was both good and different (and the only h-rpg that made me regret lewding heroine to the first monster I met...).
