It's "Abandoned" in the sense that it's been a long enough amount of time since the last update for the tag to be added to tell new people coming to the thread that it hasn't been updated for a while and to not expect this to change in the near future, not necessarily that all progress on it has ceased. There have been a lot of (unofficial) teasers over the year, but given that there's still no tangible window or timeframe that the next version will come around, it'll stay tagged as Abandoned here.

You'd need to find a way to hack Adobe AIR onto your device. Since Adobe AIR was discontinued on Linux distros in 2011, predating major OS-level changes done to Arch Linux (the Linux distro that SteamOS is derived from). Anything Linux is way out of my wheelhouse, so if you have the diligence and penchant for tech wizardry, it'll probably be a fun adventure of wrangling dependencies and deprecated software for you.

Not sure if there is a standalone flash, or flash alternative software.
pacman -S wine
Then install Adobe AIR with Wine. It should install normally. Afterwards run the executable with Wine.
Alternatively, run Flash Player 32 Standalone (you can find it on the web) with Wine and open the .swf file with it.

So, does that mean we will have access to the ocean and its creatures too? Or a potential diving experience? Maybe the boat will give an access to travel on round tiles like on a land. Interesting nonetheless. Sadly, the iron gate will remain locked.

Love that even just seeing an expanded map gets me excited
One of those files is named "sejan_diving" so looks like it. I also like that idea of traveling around water tiles on the boat, but if at all I'm guessing it would be limited to certain areas? If I remember right, there's some giant ass boat that travels around non-stop that we are eventually suppose to be able to get on and it takes us to another area. Think it was the muds.

There's nothing to be hopeful or hopeless about, what's going to happen is pretty easy to foresee: v3 will likely come out after a very long time (2025 is my earliest estimate) and be the last update of the game.

Nobody here after however many years gives a shit that you don't think an update is coming. We've been here this long for a reason. The overworld movement has changed, it's no longer clicking on circles. You can also get on a boat and travel similarly on water.
....Unless I misunderstood what you meant by tiles.

Yeah, that's what I meant, they reminded me of board game tiles where characters were usually moving around.
I wonder how the diving will be working. Will it have an event spot that stays on a map like a lake, where you can dive, or a random encounter like finding spears or enemies in certain places?
