For all that this game has my favorite content of all time... that is to say, tentacles, tentacles and MORE tentacles... I left it alone until now after playing an early version way back when... due to the fact that man... this game was buggy as fuck, and even on initial release, it was clear that it was still buggy as fuck.

Now on 1.05, it's not QUITE buggy as fuck, but it's definitely buggy. It's not a long game, it took me 4 hours and a bit to finish it and get the good ending using the Steam guide, and even then, it mostly took me that long because I massively suck at this type of game...(Well, that and y'know, using some of the scenes for their intended purposes. It's an H-game after all...) On top of that, the game crashed 3 times through it all, when trying to bring up the pause menu for some reason. Not sure what caused that to happen. Had some massive frame drops on a couple of occasions, no idea why either because this game just doesn't take that many resources... Had some other weird bugs, but luckily nothing that had a big impact or couldn't be fixed by loading a save.

Honestly, it's a good game, but I can't call it great or amazing because it needs a fuck-ton of polish to it... I also have to detract points for the story... because it's barely there and pretty disjointed with essentially no proper world building. To be fair, it's not the worst I've seen in an H-game, but that's hardly an excuse...

What is pretty amazing is the amount and quality of tentacle and monster scenes that this game has. It's been... quite a while since I've played a game with this much focus on that sort of stuff tbh. Compared to all the vanilla and/or rape and/or NTR stuff out there, this sort of content is painfully rare and even when it's there, it simply doesn't have this level of quality in terms of art. The main weak point of the H-content is that Demyra's slutification is pretty quick and pretty weak tbh, and corruption only really happens in bad-endings... and even then it's usually less corruption and more stuff like possession, identity death and all sorts of similar fun stuff. That's not a bad thing per se... but when the game makes a point about her purity being important yada yada, and yet fails to really deliver on these elements, it feels like a bit of a let down.

Only a bit though. The tentacle content and whatnot is still very good.

The other letdown is the breeding mechanic though. Sure, enemies can impregnate Demyra... but the birthing process has nothing to it. It's just a bit of text and then poof, a new monster shows up to annoy you. Super lame... No CGs, no changes to the standing pose, no nothing. Seriously, it feels like almost no one does proper birthing stuff outside of ONEONE1...

Still, the whole thing was still good overall, even if it failed to live up to its full potential. I'm looking forward to seeing what else this dev will come up with in the future.

Have you tried thorn sin i like how they did pregnancy there. You have always a chance but have items and ovulation that increases the chances getting pregnant and then after clearing few rooms your animation changes to slower moving and holding belly until 10 rooms cleared you give birth to creature that helps you fight. Also can get parasites in your womb from some enemies which causes faster birth(5 rooms i think) to an enemy insect

Huh, I wasn't aware of that. I have that game in my Watch List, but I didn't give it a look yet because I'm waiting until it's closer to completion. I don't want to spend too much time on in-progress games, because it's easy to get burned out on them and then lose interest when the game is finished. Or have the game not feel that good when it's finished. That happened to me with KP and I don't want to repeat that...

Still, I'm gonna have to bump that one up. I wasn't aware that it had an elaborate impregnation system.

Anyone know how things are coming along for his latest game? The dev has been making updates here and there but any news is behind a paywall. I've already spent my allotted Christmas funds on buying Agnietta for a friend over on steam, haha.
The only option to support Bflat on Patreon is $1/month. I recommend supporting Bflat if you enjoyed Agnietta, especially since it's not high asking price at all. But, economy's still tough so I understand that backing a dev at this time may not be ideal for some.

In summary, development has been lagging behind the dev's desired schedule but progress should accelerate since the groundwork has been set and familiarity gained with a new game engine.

Here's the latest update from 5 days ago:

Hello everyone, this is B-flat.

I'd like to start by wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Now, I must apologize.

I had aimed to release the demo by the end of this year, but unfortunately I wasn't able to complete it in time.

Due to some personal family reasons, it will need be postponed for a bit longer. I'm very sorry to have let you down.

For now, I will explain the current progress and the major milestones achieved so far.

Different parastism effects from the first enemy.
1704422196221.png
This slimy creature may be familiar to fans of Demyra...it attempts to get inside Vita from all angles, including her cleavage, butt, and other sensitive areas...if it successfully does so, she may get impregnated and eventually give birth...
1704422210371.png

Originally, we considered programming it to be able to get inside her skirt, but this caused graphical issues. So now Vita has to lose her skirt first before it can get inside her...though it can still slide between her huge breasts at anytime.

Pregnancy stages and effects.
1704422226372.png

This is obviously a major part of the game, as Vita's clothes will need to change as she gets closer and closer to birth... We are currently designing multiple forms of clothing to reflect these different levels of being stretched and torn by her growing pregnancy.

Labor and birth
1704422240681.png

We are experimenting with different body positioning to find the best looking angle for everyone to see. After testing standing, kneeling, and lying down positions, we've found the ideal angle would be to have Vita start off standing and shifting to kneeling, spreading her legs and leaning back as her belly gets larger and larger. This was a large amount of work to design the framework to fit this timeline, but it was a very important part of the game! Completing this will allow us to make variations in future as needed.

Emotions and expressions
1704422252513.png

Now that the gameplay is being finalized, we've started working on Vita's facial expressions. While she is a very serious and professional person, it wouldn't be fun for players to see her be emotionless all the time. So we're carefully designing subtle but distinctive details into her eyebrows, eyes, and mouth to show her reactions to the madness surrounding her. Blinking and other small details are being added to give Vita as much life as possible.

The "Heart Lanterns"
There are protective communication lights built by "The Immune" across Vita's world. Their magical healing light provides a safe bubble from the plague. Unfortunately, they have started to dim over the years...and the people, animals, and land they once protected are withering away.

Specially trained people, such a Plague Doctors, can travel between Heart Lanterns. Their magical healing light records the state of their mind and soul, repairing any damage to their clothes and body. Though there are rumors that using them also has the side effect of resurrecting any monsters nearby...

1704422267528.png

Gameplay-wise, they resemble streetlamps and serve as a combination healing/teleportation savepoint.

Dialog Interface for CG playback
1704422278175.png

As a major part of the game that players enjoy is watching CGs, I have prioritized making the dialogue system interface with CGs for easier viewing.

Sprite skeleton creation: Different lying down positions
Vita now has graphics for lying down flat. This means we need to add various differences for parasites and pregnancy. You can see some examples in the pictures below:

These prone graphics will be used for various states, such as when Vita is out of HP, pregnant or in labor. Some enemies might also try to knock her down when using their restraining attacks.

Miscellaneous news
When I first started this project, I thought it would take only three months to release the demo. Unfortunately, it's now been six months and there are still some final details that require fine tuning first. Even outside of my family issues, it still likely would have taken longer than my original projections. The design learning curve was very steep since I had to learn the entire engine and skeleton modeling software from scratch. It took half a year just to familiarize myself with it to the point I COULD debug things.

However, despite my inexperience and misjudging the workload, it's now finally working smoothly.

I'm sorry to have kept you all waiting; even though the climb is longer and harder, I won't stop until I've reached the peak.

I appreciate your patience and support in this difficult time.

Thank you again and stay tuned for future updates!

There's this game, called《混沌狩猎:魂之座》mtl: Chaos Hunt: Seat of the Souls, that's kind of similar to this game and has tentacles. The dev has been making proper posts about the game on twitter @yaoeralice. It's in Chinese. I don't know when the game will release or if it will ever be translated to English, but it looks pretty cool. Btw if someone could start a proper thread on the game that would be appreciated. Oh wait there are some threads about the game here.

I'm already well aware of that game too. It's made by Chinese devs, and there's a thread dedicated to it. Someone shared an early demo of it a while a back. Almost no H-content at all and combat is complex enough that it's pretty much impossible to properly navigate without a translation. Given that they're Chinese and that they implied that they had issues with the Chinese authorities... it's not just a question of when it'll come out... but also of IF it will ever come out. Because China.

Anyway, I think there's been enough talk about other games in this thread. We should probably stop before the mods smack us around. >.>"

How to fix game screen/resolution? Fullscreen is super shitty quality and magnify don't do anything ever after restart, window don't have titlebar and just stuck in left upper corner. I'm so tired of this shitty engine, literally every pixel game maker game have some issues.

So I installed this on my desktop, no issues but when I installed this onto my laptop, I got the missing
MSVCR120.dll, MSVCP120.dll, MSVCR110.dll, MSVCP110.dll missing error. I did the fixes I saw here but I noticed those missing files all had 120/110_dx-somethingsomething-.dll.

First thing, I uninstalled all the Visual C++ stuff and then I reinstalled the main one posted here and then I googled each x.dll files and I ended up installing "Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012" for the 110s and "Visual Studio 2013 (VC++ 12.0)" for the 120s.

I used x86 version even though my laptop is 64bit)

I'm a bit locked on what is the "pause" screen. It seems to have bugged since I can't really open it up again. Pressing Esc should bring you to it, where you can browse effects that you have right now or assign/deassign skills save/load, browse configs etc. Welp, I used the load option and after that now I can't open it again. I tried restarting the game or changing the inputs but it doesn't seems to work. Need a bit of a help here ;-;

Virtually every post made in this thread after v1.05 is just another example of this travesty of a game engine
You just listed practically every possible solution that has come up in this thread. You mind uploading the whole save folder so maybe someone could see it for themselves?

Nvm, I just restarted the game since is not that long until that happened and then figured out it triggers everytime I lose and go to the void, like after every enemy seedbed cg. Shit is, autosave ruins the play if you don't save beforehand. So I did quite a few touches until I figured it out and managed to save the game files before I lost if it get to that. Further than that, I was able to enjoy it to the end. But yeah I can do that. I saved a copy of the corrupted files before I started the trial and error thing

You didn't go installing any patches for older versions did you? Because they cause issues like this if you do.

I personally use a release that is identical to the release as shared by brt345678, though I got my copy from the dev. Never had any issues myself except during pre-1.0 releases.

No, I just installed the version from the first set of links. I just ignored that there were other versions before that release

Literally just downloaded it from mega on Win, haven't done anything else
In the corrupted autosave, what happens if you go back to the room at the very beginning?

That save seems to have lost some data involving the initial tutorial (part of which enables the pause menu)
Completing the initial tutorial in the beginning room fixes the pause menu, but some inventory is buggered.

Also, does the same thing happen in the autosave from your non-corrupted playthrough?
