Hi, this is my first post here, just wanted to give my feedback as I see the developer reads and takes into account comments.

The game sets a really good start, it's very promising. It reminds me of some classic adventure games I used to play as a kid (Ishar - legend of the fortress was the name) where you would explore a fantasy world, beat enemies and find new people on your way.

I like the way going to different locations is implemented. Here you need to actually to "move" and pass through places. In most games you have a map and you click to a destination and -poof- you are automatically teleported. While for some this could be tedious and grinding, to me it adds more realism. And given the artwork is fantastic, I don't mind checking out the beautiful backgrounds while I'm at it.

The art is really beautiful and unique. The females are gorgeous, beautiful with natural and varied body types, each one is unique and with distinctive looks and shapes. Most games we see these days are not so realistic with body proportions and characters tend to look all the same, but here it's not, it's real women (some athletic, some not so much, some more busty, some less, etc).

I saw some comments complaining about the lack of H scenes, but so far for a 0.04 version it's not bad at all IMHO.

But I found two bugs so far I wanted to report:

1) The first time the witch in the hut transforms into a "more good-looking" shape, the old image of the "ugly" witch doesn't disappear, so you end seeing both figures in the screen.

2) The quest for the Spirit appears multiple times in the quest screen (3 times so far on my game).

And some recommendations:

1) Exploring the Beyond is tricky, we should be able to see the map without having to camp and maybe see the movement options we have on it, as IMHO the navigation sometimes is confusing. When I hit "go back" sometimes I'm not sure if I'm going South, or to the previous location I visited before. Currently I'm trying to go to a particular place in the map I used to be before and there's no way I can get there, it should be north of where I'm supposed to be but can't get there and I think I'm going in circles :D.

2) English needs some proof-reading, there are several words mispelled.

3) While some scenes are repeatable, a gallery system would be great. This would also help to know if we have any content/scenes missing left to be unlocked.

I wish the developer the best of luck with this project.

spent time with what matters no the fighting and grinding
Sounds to me like you just want to play a kinetic novel instead.

3) While some scenes are repeatable, a gallery system would be great. This would also help to know if we have any content/scenes missing left to be unlocked.
There is a gallery in the game, but to unlocking it is part of the story.

Do you think people come here for wall-of-text
I'll bite. Yes. A lot of people actually do that. That's why most, if not all, of the top games on this forum have walls of text(story).

I get that you aren't trying to reach "the broad masses" and to that I have the same question: Just, why, man? Why not both? Why is it necessary to only serve cocoloate cake drenched in mustard? Any reasonable business would make the mustard optional. Just because that's how you like it doesn't mean it's a good business decision.
In the end I don't think it will matter much anyway, because if your visual content is good enough then someone will inevitably make a cheat mod anyway so people like me can enjoy your game without the mustard topping.
If your art is good enough (and I think it is), it's gonna happen eventually whether you like it or not. Trying to stem that tide is just an excersise in futility and can only serve to alienate a a substantial chunk of your potential audience. Because why would someone choose to support you if they know for a fact that you don't want them playing your game?
You might think it's cool and edgy to only serve mustard cake, but it's really just provokingly elitist and can only hurt your growth in the long run.
Well that's my 2 cents anyway. I hope you'll come to your senses soon.

Good luck with your project.
This reads like a fucking copy-pasta. :KEK::KEK::KEK::KEK::KEK::KEK:
What do you mean by "the broad masses"? Because it sounds to me like you are speaking out of your ass and you just want a quick and easy wank. :KEK: I can't think of a successful game on this site that that focus solely on the sex scenes and have almost no walls of text(story). Hell, one of the biggest juggernauts on this site, The Deluca Family, is mostly story with the creator explicity saying that the game isn't there to focus on sex scenes.

I mean, anyone who wants to cheat in a ren'py game and has any sort of frontal lobe development will just use Unren and edit the variables to "cheat" their way out of the grind. There's a reason why people constantly ask for cheat commands in the threads. I too don't want to grind, but I understand that it's part of the game. So what did I do? I just used Unren to edit the variables. It took me less than 30 seconds, much less that what it took you to figure out the mustard analogy in the whole paragraph of self entitled monologue.

Here, I'll do you a favor.
Get Unren from this thread Unren , use it to enable the console and the developer mode and find the variables by looking into the variable list and have fun. seem like a smart guy from the great analogies with the mustard cake and the indept knowledge of what makes a game successful, so I'm sure you can figure it out how to use it so you can enjoy the pretty elf chicks.

You severely overestimate my continued interest in this. It's just a few drawings and if that was all I was after then there's plenty of better ones out there. We've already established that this isn't for me, no? I'm leaving. Bye. Please unsubscribe me from the grindy boring-ass-games association newsletter.

Oh thanks Tjop , now I was able to see the map without having to camp :)

I've been able to make more progress and reached new areas (palace) and unlocked more scenes (temple), it's all really good!

I have another bug to report. When I'm in the bandit camp on the right of the map, if I click "Actions", the game crashes and I can see the below message in the traceback file, hope it helps to fix it:

"raise ScriptError("could not find label '%s'." % str(original))
ScriptError: could not find label 'F8_mn'."

Also at some stage after going on all possible directions, I think I unlocked the whole map of the Beyond (as there were no white spots left and I could see green on the windrose area, it's like if all the map was coloured on all oareas), but suddently after teleporting, the map shows some blank areas impossible to reach. I tried going back to the Beyond again but I am unable to unlock the white areas, the middle one is in the lake! See screenshot. Is it me or is it a bug? Thanks again

Imagine complaining that a porn game.... Has game mechanics.

For now on only search for the tag "kinetic novel". To do us all a favor, that we dont have to read your unintelligent ranting.

If the game isnt for you, dont comment and move on.

This unofficial port/version is not released by the developer, download at your own risk.

Appreciate my porting? Leave a Tip! You're supporting my efforts, paying for storage, and encouraging more ports!

Hi, ok, just a last bug report as I think I finished all the content available for v.0.04. I really liked it, the game has great potential as I said.

The gallery system is very ingenious (it took me a while to figure out the changes between day and night), but some scenes on night appear several times, specifically:

Plus what I mentioned before about the map. So far the Keeper's quest remains at 66%, I guess because the map doesn';t show complete even though I visited every single place :)

Thanks!

Ishar was such a great RPG! I used to play it a lot too as a kid and especially Ishar 3 (never got to play the 2 though). The atmosphere and world exploring was so great!

But, just, why?
Do you think people come here for wall-of-text RPG exploration and grind, or thicc elf girls? You're really deluding yourself if you think it's the former.

I actually really enjoy the RPG, storytelling, combat and exploration aspects of this game. Never once did I think about cheating because the game wasn't that hard at all, it only is at the beginning to be honest.
Now for your question: why does he make a game that actually plays like a game and has some depth to it? Well maybe because this is a passion project? Or maybe because there are more than enough shallow games on this site that requires no brains at all and are just glorified sex scene galleries? Both of those. He tries to make an actual game. If you don't like that then go and get your dopamine on some other game that suits you.

You sound like someone who cries about the difficulty in Dark Souls...

Yeah! And that's exactly what te Big Beyond reminded me of. I haven't seen any other adult game with this sense of exploring an unknown map that keeps revealing as you explore, fighting enemies, collecting items, etc.
