Oh Geez, didn't know the drama with consumers and the game devs. Here i was crying over the story of past Luna, but I haven't completed the game yet, so i can't complain. It was intense and amazing...

Yet I see we haven't seen an update since April 23, 2021. That's a year ago? I suppose we have to wait for the patreon model to change? Can't argue with free recursing money No incentive to release updates when you get cash regardless

I'm an outsider here that said i love the game so... not sure why that reaction. But to my point, you think the patreon model supports healthy game development?? Hah. I pay 10$ month to multiple devs. That's 120$ a year. Kind of expensive considering i can buy a Triple A game for a one time 60$. And they spend millions of dollars with 100's of people on the payroll.

And you seem to have the wrong idea of what Patreon is, you're not buying anything from anyone, you are only supporting artists do their thing, no one is owed anything in return.

Many Dev's do this on their spare time, having no understanding that real life can get in the way sometimes simply boggles the mind.

Totally agree with 1 of your points above. It is a public game (eventually) hence patrons are just early birds who gets the game earlier. I'm cool with that.

But as per you guys are saying as well, patreon is a place to support/invest in a developer's work. Well, in that case shouldn't "supporting/investing" in someone's work at least increases their motivation/work flow? As far as I can see, it has declined over the years rather than improve. I still support a lot of other developer's that consistently improve their work. I mean come one, you cant deny that its been more than a year now and the update is the same size as the rest, isn't disappointing for a patreon.

He just keeps pushing the responsibility away to others. Eg. his coder now that is "taking his time". Understandably the coder is doing for free. But Hopes should've used the patreon's "investments" to invest in his game by hiring a paid coder or proofreader rather than asking for free favors. How is he going to improve his game if he keeps doing things the same way? Expecting free work. Taking people's support and not re-investing it in his work. That is just disappointing.

Until he finishes the game and publishes it on steam there is probably not enough money to make it his job let alone pay coder proof reader ect. You have to be realistic hear. He also got covid so it got him out of wack for a bit. When your routine is effected everything in you life is effected. so probably took a bit to get his routine in order and head in order to get back to the game development. Also "keeps pushing the responsibility away to others?" That has only been for the last month or two. He took responsibility and said the game is taking too long it it was his fault. Don't shit out nonesense and learn to get your facts straight not shit your britches with nonsense.

Here goes another person with an assumption. Not knowing how game development works and assuming things always go smoothly. There games that take way longer to get development their previous titles(I am talking about games being developed for console and pc not porn games). While in development the development team can change, engine change and story change. That's just being a game developer as a job. Final fantasy 15 (orignally versus 13) and Kingdom Hearts 3 can be examples. Let alone someone doing it as a hobby. Being make assumptions that it is taking so long cause of lack of motivation. He is writing the story and making the renders for the game. Stories and renders do not come that easily. They take time. With it being his hobby and not his job it makes sense their can be a long time in waiting for updates. Patreon model is not the problem. Its that people act like their money should influence the speed of the updates coming out. That is only the case if the dev is not motivated. We have no proof he is not motivated cause we do not know how much time he has put into it. People assume way to much with their guesses without realizing they missing things that can tell us why its taking so long. His life is his own so we do not know what he does not tell us. People complain as if they know he could do more as if they know how art comes about. They do not. Its annoying to see people complain when they do not realize their complaints comes from a lack of knowledge and entitlement.

So there's really no need for you to get into him like that (I mean I disagree with his opinion regarding responsibility and such, but the way you're reacting to him makes it seem like you're taking it a bit too personally).

Just a little bit of friendly advice; this thread (like many others on this site) is no stranger to dissent & disagreements.
Some may be trolls who may just be here to rile up the thread, while others may be just having a very different opinion with no malicious intentions.

While I don't mind seeing trolls being called out, in The Badman's case, I feel it's just a case of having a different opinion.

I didn't mean how it sounded. Seeing it outside my head it sounds like i was angry. I was actually laughing while typing. Besides saying someone is "shitting their britches with nonesense" sounds funny. So i mean it as joke not as an angry rebuke. RenPy games have two save positions, ideally you copy it into both:

One is under the main folder (where the game's .exe is) under game\saves

The other is (YourUsername)\AppData\Roaming\RenPy\(GameName)
