Is it just me who hated that contract system?
Before that it was much faster and more practical than it is now.
This text-based system made me discouraged from playing the game the way it should be played.

I will probably re-play this game in Story-Freeroam mode or even in VN mode

Bro you need to just replace it. You can probably find a free laptop on Craigslist significantly more powerful than a 25 year old PC.

For some reason gallery doesn't seem to work for me other than that I'm just glad the game is finally getting an update and for those of you who don't want to start a new save just to see 2 new scenes here's all of my saves I played on the free roam and story only version so if you wanted to actually do the minigames you can't ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Well, there are technical aspects which can be overcome but sometimes an old save wouldn't also make sense anymore if the story and/or mechanics change. Add a new stat - what should you use as a value for some advanced player? A storyline has been broken up or fused so the point the old save was in just does not exist anymore. Place where you are has been taken out completely. (This is generally speaking, not all of it applies to this specific game.) So sometimes an "import old save" wouldn't work.

Just one of the risks of following a game in development pre alpha - nothing is set in stone. Even more so, the more gameplay is involved instead of "just" telling a story. It is different from playing a game and then having content added through DLCs or similar. I hate redoing stuff as much as the next guy, but it is a risk I am willing to take for the experience of watching the game grow. It's a personal decision whether you prefer it this way or want to wait until a game releases. But I guess you cannot have your cake and eat it too here, at least the risk is there.

I agree on this when the game is changed "a lot", for example when a grinding system is added where there was none before. But here, we already had the grinding part - was annoying enough to get all stuff with so poorly paid missions - and a free roaming part.

The problem is more tied to Python: such breaks are way too frequents with Python-based stuff. And while Ren'Py COULD have handled that, it doesn't and it's annoying too. That's why I spoke about an external tool: you use it simply to import the old save, complete the missing parts either with mean values and/or by asking questions and you save the converted file ready to be used.

But you need framework's assistance to do so, at least by having a "save" module with all variables. To be honest, I still don't understand why - while a savefile is a compressed archive - there is still a binary file as main data... It could be an XML file, or a JSON, but no: it's a freaking binary file, the thing that pollute computing since computers are a thing.

A fine one this is, really hope the Dev would up their release rate though...a little short of 3 years since first release and we are still on few kisses, a BJ and a scene from a non main girl....even for a fine story like this it is kinda lame

Love the contract play, I found it a nice balance to the VN, already love the MC development even if the best is clearly to come...

But I am clearly not willing this game to be at some 0.1.4 in 2024....seriously.

HopesGaming a little more feedback sir.

After playing through the game on Only Story + Freeroaming:~
* It leaves out a decent amount of story info that i believe is not fully essential but would make the experience & overall story better.
* This of course is mainly due to no missions being done in this mode.
* As the game progresses we get EXP & character points we should have if we played missions. What if during this time we also get info on the missions. Like what was done during this mission, what characters were introduced etc.

And again this is just my opinion but i do not like the way the missions are in this new version, i preferred the older version better. But like you said some people will like & some won't. Just not my cup of tea.

your about right this pc is at least 25 years old ... lmao ... i just need to save some cash up to buy a video card for it ... using embedded atm .. and it only supports gl1 .... i'm retired now tho so raising cash isn't that simple .. 1 day i'll be able to play around 100 games that i can't play any longer .. but hey thats life .. something new comes out and people wanna flock to it .. ren'py 7.3.5 to 7.4 .... leaves me behind on alot of games i used to play ... .. this will no doubt get deleted by the moderators .. they hate when people don't just talk about games .. i really do enjoy playing this game like all those others btw

A 40$ Raspberry Pi 4 will play well with Renpy 7.4 AND use significantly less power doing it.

Well, seeing as you still are yammering about the missing OpenGL 2.0 after giving me a dickish smartass answer that you have already "tried everything", you still clearly haven't tried to switch to DirectX renderer as I told you already.

Ren'Py 7.4 works on DirectX 9:

That's a computer made 19 years ago would have.
You won't have that option on a Linux PC, so that would be your only excuse if your integrated Intel graphics was made before 2010, as it seems to be the case, since OpenGL 2.0 support was added then.
However, since Direct3D 9.0 was partially supported by Intel since 2000 and fully supported since 2004, any Windows OS newer than XP would support Ren'Py 7.4 on a 17, possibly upto 21 year old Intel graphics hardware.

You also haven't showed anyone your log.txt that I asked you, it would show how bad your situation actually is.

Please don't make yourself look worse than you already have, do what I told you to do to switch the renderer! And show me that log.txt

So far you seemed like an OK guy, so I did my best to try to help you as I've helped a lot of people here before. I guess I was wrong. My mistake.
Instead of any intelligent answer now you facepalmed me. That pretty much says everything about you to everyone, so I don't have to break the forum rules about being respectful.

Just so you know - your posts about your computer not being able to play Ren'Py 7.4 games make no sense to anyone who knows enough about computers and Ren'Py, unless you specify that you are using Linux that has no DirectX support. And even on Linux it would be possible to get that support by running the Windows version of Ren'Py on WINE. And in case you are running your games on Windows XP, then it's not the lack of a newer graphics card that is stopping you.

I expected you to be a bit smarter.
