That's not my point. My point is : a game where you have no choice is far less interesting than a game where you have it. What makes Good Girl Gone Bad such a good game is precisely that. Even, if the vast majority of players want to go down the rabbit hole and play the sluttiest Ashley possible, the fact that you can stay prude and finish the game with your loving boyfriend spice up all the other routes. That's the way human mind operates. For this game, I think, it would be stronger to progress in the game (which, on an other aspect doesn't rush the stages of transformation) knowing you can do otherwise. And, as progress in the game shows that there are variables positionned (some of the answers can be grayed out), it would have been judicious to separate the transformation and let player choose from minimal compliance to save father to full commitment to transformation. The last would have been far more exciting, knowing it would have been chosen. That's all. That's just a point of view. Won't change the fact that the game is among the good ones (but not the top ones).
I get it, but the game does offer choices. It's just these choices are simply variation of single, largely fixed narrative path.
And, for better or worse, that's how most of these games work -- a single path, and your choices amount to what LI you pick and what LI-related content you'll get (or not even that, if it's a harem and you get them all) Good Girl Gone Bad with its multiple narrative paths is an absolute outlier in this regard, due to amount of work involved in such game, and if you set your expectations at this level you're just going to be disappointed over and over and over.
I do agree as for the general level of games but can't help being a little disappointed. The good son is fairly well written, transformation progression is quite ok. It's frustrating discovering that your choices in the game are just the only possibility, except by ending prematurely. If I possessed an ounce of artistic talent, I'll do my own game, but I'm just a good developper and not a graphist. And text-only adevntures don't interest no-one.

And those have been rare since March So v0.10 is moving sluggishly along, but it's not nearly done."

Don't worry, that's not true at all -- text-only IF have their own fans (see Choice of Games/Hosted Games, e.g.) As long as writing and game development are things that interest you, i'd say go for it and give it a try.

Have you tried AI? Asking because I have noticed that AI pics have been on the rise in stories on CHYOA maybe try that and if you do I hope you have better results than I had with it because all I got was colored blobs that looked like a really bad Picasso painting.

Why is the option 'Offer to stay' (during the scene with Nazarov after Dimitri was killed) greyed out for me? Does it have any special requirements? I chose pretty much all pro-Nazarov options possible
It requires Nazarov to be set as MC's lover. This happens during the "final date" which can be initiated on Friday night (

General Update About Things
Hey everyone! How is April 15th already? Yikes!
I wanted to give everyone an update on how things are going on The Good Son's latest update. First of all - not to worry, nothing is or will ever be abandoned. The nature of this little hobby of mine is that sometimes I don't have all the time that I want to work on it, and progress slows as a result. Yes, The Good Son very much deserves an update. Girl Spy was a fun distraction but now the main game is begging for some more content. And not to worry, I will deliver!
But the question on your mind is, of course "WHEN!?!?"
I don't have a date for you at this time. I'm punching time into Twine to advance the game when I can (mostly the weekends, like today), but work and life are demanding a lot of attention right now. I know things will surely go quieter in the summer, at least. Progress will be slow until then.
I want everyone to know that I completely understand the frustration (and I share it - I too keep an eye on a few developers and wish they'd put the pedal to the metal!). Some people view subscribing to Subscribestar or Patreon as buying a product - meaning, if I sub for three months and get an update, it should be 'worth fifteen dollars,' accounting for those three months of subscription. For those people, this next update is looking pretty expensive, I bet. I fully support people unsubscribing during these quiet months - it's your money and your decision, and all I can do is thank you for support you've shown me so far.
Others see subscribing to Subscriber or Patreon as just signalling their support for a creator - whether he's actually doing his promised job or playing around with modding Female Agent or whatever. Either interpretation of this service works. I only hope no one will see my slow down as a betrayal of trust or anything like that. I'm not trying to take advantage of anyone - I'm just allocating my free hours in a given week as best as I can.
Okay, enough of that. How is the update going?
For all it's molasses-like speed of development... it's going pretty well! Bottom surgery is working. The game elements (mirror, clothes, chastity, piercings, certain scenes) bounce to the new reality well. The actual operation and its immediate repercussions are handled in a pretty sexy way as the Main Character's lover gets to 'try things out,' after the Main Character spends a bit of personal time getting to know her new self. It's big, full of options (like seven different sex scenes just for the post-operation scene, depending on your relationship), and definitely hot.
Then there's the other repercussions. How will Sapphire deal with one of her girls 'switching things up?' What does this mean for Lexi's business venture? Lots of reactions to the new reality.
New Cauldron sex scenes are being actively written. Plot development following the weekend out with Nazarov comes after that. I'm saving the fun fully optional stuff (like finishing Heather's story) for last. I think ultimately this update won't be as jam packed with story as the one before it (or the Masquerade update, which was probably the biggest single story update I've ever made), but will set everything up for the game's climax.
And to be clear, we are near the finish line. We've got this update, then the climax update, then maybe one more to fill in all the epilogues and a bit of side content. The Good Son should be done this year (but knowing my awful prediction abilities, I won't count on it. Odds are it'll slide in 2024).
I've been loath to write anything on Subscribestar because I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I understand that people feel a bit left in the dark. My apologies for that. I'll see about giving a little bit of an update every 15 days or so, even if it's just "I wrote two scenes. They're good. Wish I did more!"

I wish Oliver would use turning my MC into a girl as propaganda to increase the popularity of REP.
Counting the money he gets every month I expected this to be his full time job, not a small side hobby project. that's abit sad
Based on his writing, he's most likely from US. With 2.5k from subscribestar you can barely pay rent unless you live in a state like montana or something
Yeah, I have no experience from a developing country like the US, the costs and such, but I'm sure he would make enough from this if it was his full time job, he would have alot of more subs then I mean
$2.5k a month is about $15/hr assuming a 40 hour work week. Minimum wage in some states.
You can make more than that bagging groceries.
I don't think he's missing out on subscribers through lack of polish or features. Time spent developing a game like this has a lot of diminishing returns.
