Its like all these developers live on the set of a soap opera. So much drama in their lives...
Nah, it's just the Patreon effect

Developers know that if they reach certain point, people put them on a pedestal, and that the cash will keep rolling in, so they give 0 fucks about delivering in time anymore, or delivering the same quality, or taking dumb decisions, etc

Like a couple when they are going out, they make great efforts to please each other, but when things settle in (or worse, get married) they just stop giving a damn

What a perfect comparison, I strongly agree!

You guys are being unfair, I rarely see supporters complaining about development of a game, cause they're treating Patreon as a tip jar, not as receipt for their order. That's just nature of Patreon.

I agree some people are putting developers on pedestal and are uncritical about their work (I hate what happened to Summertime Saga development for example,I used to support that game, but not anymore ), but we have no idea what is happening in Grey's life. We know that he has a job and that's his priority. He gave us an amazing game so far and I hope he'll be able to finish it.

Game development is hard, i tried making my own game during summer and I failed miserably. Creating original story is imo a hardest part of it, and with porn games it's even harder, you have to keep balance between lewd part happening too fast or too slow.

As I said before I think Grey shot himself in the foot with animations, creating 5-10 renders for a scene is challenging, and to create an animation you need 10-20 renders for 1 angle, that's huge time consumption that's making story progression much slower.

Im not sure my english is enough or not but i will try explain myself.

i dont want too offend u and say ur wrong or right.im thinking ur wrong u think we r wrong. That s normal right.
u said ur trying create game right ?means u saw many patreon games or trying so many things with Daz and photoshop or something..Look when patreon games show up first;
second version coming montly most times..after 0.3 come quick.. when they reach enough supporters days drop and drop

"Like a couple when they are going out, they make great efforts to please each other, but when things settle in (or worse, get married) they just stop giving a damn"

Like these words. Not every couple or not every games but most times.

Sirbajo better than me know this game but pls check Humbling game every version out days and days .. Longer ,much longer and much much longer days new version out.and when reach some point they cant keep promises or they words..coming getting closer and said we r %60 or something they r blabbering everytime..

and so many dev or game creator same problems ..
"My life not good these days.something bad happened. " if ur trying too create games u have too look many patreon games for example right..u looked yourself they patreon and u saw like said;

"Its like all these developers live on the set of a soap opera. So much drama in their lives..."

So most game creator ;but same problems..i only support 3 games patreon.
i already quit 2 games.why u think im quit ?why other supporters didnt quit ? i dont know myself..they loyal or they belive...

i only know myself why i left supporter greyinu...longer, much longer and much much longer .. thats my reason..

Ikr, I don't think that the people who complain a lot understand how hard it's to work with posing and animations. Of course there is some utilitaries to make stuff easier but they are usually pricey and you still have to tweak them a little.
Also GreyInu is not doing this full time and his backing it's not that big compared to other developers, his patreon is kind of tip jar thing too if I'm not mistaken, he could communicate better though. As long as the amount of content justifies the time, which I think it will be, all is good.

It's all about presentation. In this game: Woman goes to another city with some shady things going on, and tries to rediscover her sexuality while being pulled into those shady things. It's not original at all, but it tweaks some things like: she's a teacher, it's a temporary trip, corruption comes from a friend instead of a weird, fat, old guy and etc. Those are good because it makes the game feel very fresh, even if it isn't. Anyway, I talk way too much when it's about this type of thing so it's better if I stop here otherwise the post is going to become way too convoluted.

If he delivers this update and then makes a post with a poll about the future of his game. ( meaning update wise)
The only thing ppl here who are not pleging can hopen is that alot of ppl really do vote.

I think he will try 2 change the way he brings updates.

He sees and knows ppl are loosing a bit of intrest due the fact that it’s taking this long.

BUT

I don’t see any wrong/pissed/flaming reaction of a plegder on his post about delaying.
I due see ppl dissapointed that it’s not out yet.

Edit: it’s late 2 lazy to change typo’s

My point was more around the reasons given by developers the majority of updates seem to be delayed for 'issues not related to the game'. Its like they live in an alternate reality where Trump won....

Did you ever think you don't see supporters complaining because they quit supporting after something like this happens or completely forgot about it which is often the case with patreon.

My issue is that developers that do this often want to or have made this their job. I don't get to quit my job every time I have a bad month. I'm sure there is some truth on some level to it not being a great time for them. But still, at most you get a couple days or a week off and you have to get back to work.

Everytime stuff like this happens it just slowly wears away at the people willing to ever patreon support some one again because you're choosing to support them so they can continue their work and then they quit doing it.

so when will the game be declared abandoned? I have only supported two games in Patreon; this one and DMD. I stopped supporting this one when he started slowing down on the updates and tbh I have no idea how he still has people giving him money. Yes, it is a very good game, but why give monthly support when it will take more than 3 months to update (last one was on early November)? That is the end of my bitching, I swear

Well there are still little more than 200 people supporting him and although the number of patron who withdrew their support in the past 6 months is roughly about 50 he still has 4/5th of his patron supporting him, which tells me that most of his patrons trust him.
So although due to country restrictions I can't be a patron but I still support him(how?Everything except monetary support) and would wait patiently. For how long could I wait, this even I don't know but I'll wait.

Social media made the majority of users very weak.

If someone says something nasty about you or just disagrees with you, then social media allows you to cut it off right away. Conflict can be positive in how it makes you stronger even when you never realised you could be, social media shows the majority for the weak bitches they are. But then makes it so easy to just start a new account with a simple name change.

EDIT

Was just thinking on something. The only incest part this game contains is the brother and sister section. I wonder if Grey is working to take this out in order to stick with Patreons rules? For me I wouldn't mind as this game is a fresh change from the amount of incest crap out there, and goes to show you can still enjoy games with normal people fucking each other.

no incest in the game , yes the brother loves the sister but it aint a relationship at all , infact the sister wants the brother to stop hovering over her 24/7

Sucks to see this game go the way of the dodo because of dev drama. It had a certain charm to it that is hard to come by, it's truly a diamond among the endless rocks of generic daz model trash games out there.

The biggest problems of these games of Patreon are the constant updates and the price charged by the developers. I honestly do not understand how people still pay up to $ 40 a month (price of a steam release) for the average of 100 rendered images, not to mention the delays in launching the updates.

What would be fair is that once you reach a certain threshold, lets say 40/50$ (which is still a massive overpay for pretty much any patreon game), you get lifetime updates from then on.

That would probably implode the whole patreon scene tho.
