I share your point of view, but at the same time there was a reason why I thought that the marriage was a good idea to force MC in the house regardless of his intentions: the sooner you break the couple apart, the more effort it is require, as all the scenes need to be done twice at least, while that is not necessarily the case otherwise. True, is not the same if wife is angry and you are sleeping in the couch than if she is happy and you are sleeping together, but scenes that do not include wife can be left unaltered, like scenes related to Penelope, MC thinking and more. Even those scene that are different could use several renders that are the same with only the happy vs angry renders new. If you give the option to MC to leave early, all that need to be created no matter what.Yeah, getting out of the hospital after a life threatening injury/illness often comes with a reevaluation of what really matters. If the MC was already planning to give up on Jane it would be good to be able to make that decision instead of just going home to her. Especially if he actually was unhappy or wanted to spend the rest of his life with Jessica.
I realize we are only on chapter/episode three (I have no idea what the plan is for number) but the ability to dissolve the relationship sooner than later would be nice.
The more options you give to players that have substantial impact on the story, the harder the curse of dimensionality hits.
So far everytime she tried to kiss my MC you could reject her.Is Tanya still unavoidable? She introduced the two factors I most strongly disliked about the game (MC being a cheating scumbag**, invalidating many of our choices on how to play out his character. And unavoidable blackmail, or the insinuation thereof, which is a huge turn-off).
I get why she hasn't been cut: preggo lovers likely enjoy her ( despite her being a cheating, blackmailing bitch) because she's the one character most strongly catering to that kink. Wouldn't want to take that away from anyone, but an option to skip her would be appreciated.
With the rework being such a chance to fix old mistakes, I was baffled Tanya's intro played out exactly as it did before.
** I mean, he's not exactly a good guy either way, but there's "flawed" and there's "irredeemable gutter trash". IIRC the extended Jessica flashback is avoidable now if you don't visit Jessica in the hospital, which is one of the big "MC is a huge asshole" vectors. The other is Tanya.
I would not have any problem with her removed as a Love interest, specially when other more interesting characters were removed in my opinion. But I don't think your critique of force cheating rendering the choices of player useless applies here, though. MC could have been reformed, yes, but you can't erase MC's past and he was a piece of crap cheating bastard. It is also hinted that Tanya's child is MC's, but it is clear that was done before the novel started. What you are asking is akin to somebody not liking MC being a police officer and asking that to be removed.
And even if you don't go to the hospital to see the scene, Jessica and MC's past cannot be removed.
