Hello everyone,
the next Dev Update is here.
I have 2 main topics for this week. The actual state of development (of course) and some organizational things later.
The short part first:
It has been a pretty good week, and I finished a few things. Most of the animations from last week are rendered and post-worked. 2 animations are still in the render queue. I hope to finish them this weekend.
I finished the work (outside the 2 remaining animations) on the scene I was working on and moved on to the next one (preview attached to this post). It's already written and coded but needs about 20 more renders to be finished.
Speaking of renders and code, I got 93 static renders done this week and about 350 lines in the script file.
That brings the total to:
827 static renders
21 animations
2411 lines in the script file
Easy part done.
The longer part is about how I structured the game/story in the past and how I'll continue from now on.
As most of you probably noticed by now, I use the terms "Book" and "Chapter".
The initial idea when I started working on the game was to have several books each with 3-4 chapters each. The plan was to end Book 1 with Chapter 4 and start Book 2 with the 5th Chapter.
At that point, I had no plans for other stories besides the actual ones. So all 3 books were planned around the current MC and that's it.
The "problem" comes with the idea of more stories. With the actual setup, I had Books 1-3 with the actual MC and Book 4+ with another one.
I thought about that for a while now and the more I did, the more I concluded that it's just confusing this way.
Even worse, I had no real explanation for WHY it's set up like that other than "That was the original plan."
Long story short: I'll re-label everything related to the actual MC to Book 1 - Chapter X.
When Book 1 is done, the story of the actual MC is finished and the new story will start with Book 2.
That way you have a clear cut between MC/Game/Book.
It doesn't change anything other than the labels of the future Chapters (Book 2 Chapter 1 is now Book 1 Chapter 5) but it's different to how I communicated it in the past.
Yes, that was the sole reason for writing this wall of text.

Meh, if not this I'd probably was gonna read some NTR discussions so there is no real loss.
I don't wanna stir up any drama as I've been enjoying the game quite a bit, but I gotta ask because idk if something was done (or will be done) about this and it ticked me off quite a bit:
Has there been (or will there be) an update to the "girl's score system" in regards to Kaija next update? Specifically speaking of the beginning of the game where you must choose between having sex or having breakfast, with the breakfast being being considered the "proper" choice for points and the events that later on unfold on account of how many points had been accrued?
Seems silly, I know, but that thing really made me dislike Kaija a lot more than it ought to. For me it's not about min-maxing character stats or anything, it's about how it makes me see a character as and how I'd like to interact with them within the context of the story.

Hey everyone,
Another week had passed, and it was mostly business as usual.
Nothing spectacular happened and I didn't decide to change anything regarding the game.
I guess we can call that a win. ;-)
The work on the game has been mostly doing static renders with a bit of coding and postworking the finished renders.
After I finished the work on the scene from last week I built a new test version, ran a few tests for it, and moved on to the next scene.
That one will be Elea's scene for Chapter 4 (as you can see in the previews).
Depending on your decisions earlier in the game it'll come with the first consequences and/or important decisions for her path.
It also contains a reference to one of my favorite movies (again...) which I'm rendering right now, although I'm pretty sure not a lot of people will actually get it. Sorry for that, I just love doing stuff like that. ;-)
Of course, the scene will work totally fine even if you don't get the reference.
It's one of the things I always try to make sure when doing stupid stuff like that.
The numbers for this week are:
112 new static renders (939 in total)
~350 lines of code (2748 in total)
You'll get those 2 points "back" at the start of Chapter 2 if you tell Jessica you still love Kaija.
Otherwise the differences between those 2 "paths" are pretty small. Mostly a few changed lines.
In general, you don't need to min-max the points to be on a girl's path.
That said, you're right in general. I'm not really happy about that situation and I'd set it up differently now.

Thats why i don't like when MC start with gf. Plus if is not by my taste like here,Yday Crossroads,Where it all Began,etc. You will always somewhere in future have option to get rid of her,forgive. But,we don't know how our choices will affect the story in general. So,instead of not having gf in first place we will need extra playthrough and save with her,in case it will be game changer on some point. If i like MC gf,then i feel like shit if he has to cheat on her
Noted, Thank you for your insights! Maybe you could ask your gf, how she feels if you cheat on her during a VN?

Hello everyone,
It's Friday the 13th and on that day stupid things are supposed to happen.
In my case, I loaded up Órla (Fiona's dog) just to find out she renders with weird color bugs.
After blaming buggy DAZ, Nvidia drivers, life, the universe, and some other things I found out that the problem sat in front of the monitor (as so often with such problems).
The idiot in front of the monitor forgot to back up Órla's custom texture maps before moving his whole DAZ stuff to a new hard disk a few months ago.
Luckily, I could remember what I did back then so I just had to spend 2 hours of my life redoing her texture maps. Fun!
Other than that, the week wasn't bad at all.
I made some good progress with Elea's scene to the point where it's almost done.
A few more lines of code and 20-30 more static renders (it's at ~160 renders as of now).
The coding took a bit of time because of all the possible combinations from earlier chapters.
And it'll be "fun" to test everything...
Anyway, I'll most likely finish the scene early next week and then move on to Fiona's scene which will keep me busy for the next ~2 weeks.
After that, it's time to work on the chapter finale.
That also means, there won't be a lewd scene in Chapter 4.
The reason lies in me splitting up Chapter 3 into Chapters 3 and 4. The planned scenes took place in Chapter 3. While I thought about adding additional scenes to Chapter 4 I couldn't find a spot where it made sense.
Sorry about that :-/
But I promise Chapter 5 will contain "fun time" again.

Well the sister is nice, but the lack of incest doesn't bother me in this game.
My faforite so far is the elf ''diplomat''. I'm really curious how that will work out, considering they are on hostile terms and her hate for humans. Should be fun, i'm curious if we can/will go against the templers with choosing her.

Just started playing and wondering what type of game this is/will be, i see future tags planed has 3-somes and such, so makes me wonder if its harem, half-harem or one woman thing, i dont mind either of the 3 i am quite a fan of the hes first girlfriend love her build and face so pretty temted to just stay faithfull to her all the way through if that will even be a possiblity.
Other then that it looks really good and i like the story so far but like i said i only just started on it

Your questions were answered by Ceolag here. He was very forthcoming and clear about the LIs and paths.
There was also a fair bit of discussion concerning Kaija; you should look for that after playing the prologue. When you get there, remember: bashing Kaija only on odd calendar days...
If you cycle through the dev's post you'll see that he answers players questions and does a devlog every Friday.
And Elea is the best girl, of course.

And yeah i can understand why there have been some Kaija issues, feeling them my self right now, i liked the bitch but feeling more like shooting her at the moment, never thought that would happen....but a bit disapointed that she dosent even feel anything for the MC, kinda ruined the hole plan i had of staying faithfull to her...kinda sad....also one of those times where i wish MC would go crazy against both her and the mother....
