See, I disagree on that. Branching topic that is.

If it was 3rd party, there is initial confrontation with Templars/Parents, which then goes to be resolved by both Templars and Alfar uniting to fight them.
No matter initial discussion with Templars, path always ends with fighting 3rd party.

If it's Templars, now you've got to create multiple paths:
- 1 if MC is friendly to Templars
- 1 if MC hates Templars
- 1 if MC hates both Templars and Alfar, so he has no one to stand with during war

Also 3rd party allows dev to avoid war entirely (which would probably be pain to render).
Full on war means multiple renders from both points of view.
3rd party means linear path towards ending.
I did not mean that the Templar Order killed Finn but the traitors without the Grand Master's knowledge. We know that the traitors are pushing for war. Traitors can be allied with the third party and so far the third party usually operate indirectly, they use others to do the job and cause chaos that lead to war (fits what we know about Fiona's family). We do not know what mission she was send on that led to her death and that mission may be why Alfar belive she was killed by the Templars.

As far as we know the war is going to happen anyway. MC can kill Finn and they are still going to fight. He is not part of the Templars but he is close enough for Alfar to see him as one and he is not part of the third party. What will happen on this route? Will we get a war if MC killed her and peace if he did not? No, I do not think so. The story will go in the same linear way more or less with some smaller branching involved but not that big. Besides, MC won't have much time to change Alfar's minds because they want to declare a war on Templars the next day and that is why MC has to leave them early. This is why the war will start no matter who killed Finn. MC's focus will be on the third party and the Templar traitors that his father told him about. I do not think MC will join the Alfar-Templar war on either side. His goal is to try to make peace between them and unite both fractions against the third party.

Hey everyone,

This week I focused on getting the remaining animations for the current scene done.
Especially one of them gave me quite a bit of a headache due to the dforce stuff. Hair simulations through several hundred frames aren't fun. :-D
I did manage to get most of the stuff done as I had imagined it so that's probably still a win...
The second PC is still busy rendering the animations but it's a great help that I can continue to pose new renders on the other PC now.

Next week's focus will be on static renders and a bit of coding/writing.
After that, I'll tackle the second batch of animations.
Outside of that, my main focus will be to stay (mostly) healthy as it seems everyone around me is trying to kill me through coughing and sneezing...

The numbers for this week:
52 new static renders for a total of 929
6 new animations for a total of 13
211 new lines in the script file for a total of 2827

Have a nice weekend.
Cheers,
Ceo
Thanks for the weekly numbers, Ceolag! They translate to an overall average of ~58 static renders, 0.8 animations, and 177 lines per week since work on Chapter 6 began. Here are the charts:

More steady progress, but the numbers alone don't tell us much new. Much more informative is confirmation from the preview image post that we will see non-Kaija characters in this chapter. That implies there is indeed still a lot of rendering work to go, and possible some story beats as well. So it looks like release is a long way off, but I'm definitely interested in seeing all the events of the chapter play out.

See ... In my world, with the paths that I have chosen, Medb has considerably more credibility than MC's parents or his long time girlfriend. She has always been straight with him so far and wouldn't outright lie about something this important. [Yes, she failed to tell him about the life debt thing when he asked for his father but that's a crime on par with not telling the person holding the garage sale that the item they are selling for $5 is actually worth a small fortune. Besides, MC wouldn't have known what else to ask for. Too bad the Templars decided to keep him in the dark.] Anyway, in my world MC is likely to believe Medb based on her own credibility but also based on his opinion of the Templars and their prior behavior (plus his own rage and grief). I'm assuming there will be a few more conversations with the elves before MC leaves and if the opportunity comes up, I'll bend the knee to Medb and do what she asks, otherwise I'm going back alone and out for revenge. And I'll generally be on the side of the Elves and of just about anyone else who wants to bring down the Templars. I'm not going back to play detective and find out what really happened and none of the Templars has any credibility at all with me, so asking them won't help.
