Seem to have lost "Katie's Secret Letter" can't remember which book it was in and running through them doesn't have it turn back up. (Was literally in the one book I didn't check because it was the first one I opened after Tutorial originally...) Can't "solve" a riddle if you don't have it to read. I want the context behind each potion, not just looking up the recipes alone.
And, I can't seem to find the recipes/hints for #14, 17, 18, 24 (saw another comment about the Patreon button on MM).
I know one of those is the "purity potion" but I'm saving it for last, because futa.
Any help in directing me to the missing pages would be appreciated. I seem to be blind, or at least sleep deprived.

Sorry for the late replies, I had a busy weekend.

Very true with some detail being lost, the bimbo potion increases lip size but I didn't notice that at all until I read the reference in the text part of the scene. Had to go back and remake the potion a few times to verify this. I wonder if some detail loss occurs just depending on monitor size? My monitor is a very practical and cheap (ie, not widescreen), so anything larger would start to lose detail anyways unless game's pixelation count increases depending on monitor output size.

Just harder to do subtle face and body stuff without finer detail, since no outlines to delineate between what otherwise might be colors that blend. C'est la vie.
I think it's less about monitor size and more about how well the monitor displays colours + lighting conditions in your own room. You'll see fewer colours if the sun is shining on your monitor versus if you're sitting in a dark room.

It's also an oversight on my part as well. The colours are very distinct in my art program, but then when I take the animations into the game the colours get washed out a bit by the lighting. So I need to use less subtle shades.

I think I can add something in the options that will up the contrast and should make colours pop more.
To be clear I meant H's patronus, but can't say no to seeing Luna's too.

And I got an idea for how to work beasts into the story: Hagrid needs potions for the beasts or his pals from the forest, since he can't keep a secret he mentions something to H which reminds her of a potion she saw in one of the books.
Do you mean scenes based around the patronuses? Because I'll be honest, I'd struggle trying to make an otter sexy. :p
I think your proposed Corruption mechanic could fit that bill nicely. As "Harmony" solves more and more potions, she gets more and more depraved, and that in turn unlocks variations and/or different paths available to her. That would give a sense of her evolving and progressing without feeling tacked on or incompatible with the plot.
Yeah that would be close to my ideal system. But it's a lot of work...

Lol it seems you figured out most of it yourself. Let me know if you need any more clarifications.
Will there be more monsters added? Or some animals?
Monsters yes. Animalistic monsters yes. Normal animals, probably not.

The next monster scene will likely be with a centaur (it won't be this update though).

where i can find bone, boomslang scale and bicorn horn?
If you're playing the latest version (v0.50a), then the bone is down the right side of the bookshelf, the boomslang scale is on top of the bookshelp in a jar and the bicorn horn is the little grey thing on the far left of the desk.

Also make sure you're playing in a 16:9 resolution or some things might get cut off.

you know, one thing I would really like to see is maybe some breast milk play, lmao! i'm that guy, but i did notice you had the idea for it in the old breast expansion animation. it would be nice to see that come back, maybe that milk could be needed as another ingredient in another combination potion??? hmmmm... just a thought

I may as well post this here just to get more data. I'm starting to actively work on my next project: Project Magic-School, a game featuring all your favourite characters from the potion room. As part of the development I'm revisiting the art for the Witch. I've smoothed out some proportion issues, cleared out some cluttered pixel and made her look slightly younger so that she looks distinct from the older professors/characters she'll be interacting with.

I would love to know which of the three Witches below you prefer.

FaceComparison_1.png

Old is of course the Witch in her current form. New 1 and New 2 are identical except that New 2 has a more classic hairstyle.

(freckles are addable to the new 1 and new 2)

Oh no, I didn't mean it in that way.
Any ideas on how I could include a patronus that fits with the potion room "lore"? I can't think anything up that isn't extremely contrived.

Yeah I've had a few people say that they were disappointed the lactation scene was relegated to the secret scenes. It's on my to-do list. Just have to think up a scenario that is fun enough.

I think I like the New 1 one more, but it may be because I'm used to the old one
Also I feel it has bit more of its own identity, and since I'm not big on HP or related r34 I kinda prefer to think about the TPR n all as its own thing rather than direct parody

I like the freckles and the hair from the Old one, but i think the lower jawline from New 1 looks good too, so i guess I would say New 1 is my favorite if you add the freckles. if you want to go for a more youthful look, you could try putting her hair in a low-hanging pony tail and giving her a black headband, and then leave the bangs parted.

maybe instead of patronus, it could be porntronus. maybe she thinks its some kind of weird type-o. Instead of positive energy it would use lustful energy, instead of conjuring something to defend you, it would conjure something to f*ck you. maybe a bunch of horny students wrote down ingredients for a potion that would help them get all of the lust out of their systems so that they could focus on their studies.

as for the milk thing, this phrase popped into my head "milk o' de wench" maybe that'll give you some inspiration lol

I prefer the old one. Face proportions are much more pleasing to the eye and better fit the golden ratio.

About the patronos lore problem. Don't think about the patronus as a potion. Make the potion a catalyst for the positive emotion it represents or an enhancer for said emotion. Here is some food for thought: The knowledge of the patronus spell is the requirement to use the potion, and the brew is meant as a desperate measure for a wizard or witch who is too distressed to cast it on their own. It enhances the "happy" feelings in those situations to make the cast possible. (like chocolate is a remedy to deal with the aftermath of a dementor attack) Of course, such an enhanced patronus has some side effects. Maybe it wants a "happy" ending of some sort before it disappears.

I like the old one better. If by chance Project Magic-School is set where the witch is a few years younger from The Potion Room, then New 1 fits the bill (but add the freckles still) If set on the same timeline as The Potion Room, keep the old one as-is.

New 1 is what I'm leaning towards too (with maybe New 2 as an early game pre-corrupted Witch). I also agree about it looking more unique and less derivative. Thanks for the feedback.

Yeah I'm experimenting a lot with the hair. There's going to be some level of progressive corruption in the game so I expect her hairstyle will change to reflect her mental state. Freckles will almost certainly be in any future versions of the Witch. Thanks for the feedback.

Portronous sounds great lol, but to me it still seems too contrived a setup. And also, depending on how faithful I am to the source material, making scenes based around very benign animals like an otter (Hermione's patronus in the books) would be a bit a little difficult.

I'm surprised so many people like the old one. To me, when they're all side by side, the old version seems like she has a big old chin and is making a bit of a face. I tried to find a middle ground between the new and old versions of the Witch but with the resolution of pixel art there isn't much I can do to blend things. So I think I may just go with my gut and go with the newer version. That said, you will see the Witch from a lot more angles than in the potion room, so you may like other angles more. Here's a bit of a WIP for the other angles

I like your idea about tackling the patronus from a different direction, a "good memory" potion could be workable. Although I still may save it for project magic school where it won't be so forced.

I'm leaning towards New 1 atm. Hopefully once you see it animated and fully in motion you might like it a bit more. Thanks for the feedback.
My vote is for the old one. New 1 looks decent, but the proportions on the old model are better IMO.
It's interesting. On my patreon there's roughly 2/3 of people in favour of the newer version whereas on f95 it's the opposite with 2/3 of people in favour of the old version.

I'm probably going to have to go with my gut and go with the newer version but hopefully you'll like it more when you see it in motion. Thanks for the feedback!
I don't know how to make the werewolf one

In the Devil Snare entry Hermione mentions enticing the Snare to her front, what does that mean?

I like new #1 better, the "more accurate" hairstyle of the #2 only reminds me of the really early HP movies while I feel the game's vibe fits better with the later ones.

I think people are attached to old because of the freckles, add those to new #1 and I think people will notice how new #1 is just an all-around improvement.

Looking at it again, I think my biggest attachments to the Old 1 (beyond the freckles) are the coloration of the skin and lips. The New models have a slightly darker skin tone and lips which I don't think are necessary. I like the lighter colors of the Old model more.

Yeah, the hairstyle #2 is only really there because it's fairly distinctive, whereas later-book/movie Hermione's hair is relatively generic. Still I think moving from the classic hairstyle to the new 1 hairstyle would be a good indication of early-game corruption.

There's no right or wrong answer, I was genuinely curious what others thought. You tend to lose the ability to judge your own artwork the longer you stare at it so I am very much interested in opinions that differ from my own.

The lips are a little darker just to provide a little more contrast against the skin. When the artwork ends up in the game the colours get a little washed out by the lighting of the scene, so i darkened the lips just to make them "pop" a bit more. I will definitely try lowering reverting it back to it's old colour though.

Interestingly the skin tone is identical to the old one, it might just look darker because there is a darkish shade around the nose where the freckles used to be.
