It is already said in story that books get confiscated daily, so perhaps it could be set up so that there's sets for books that become available only after the previous set was completed. While more linear, it could follow along with the corruption shown in the writing better.

That bug is probably why you couldn't find the recipe to find the secret scene #2. After successfully brewing the "potion of personality", there is a recipe for the secret scene #2 on the far side of the potion of potency diary entry.

Believe it or not the final scene of the werewolf potion started off as a ghost-fuck potion. But then inspiration took hold. That said, it's still something I want to add at some point.
Ah, that'll be why things are being covered. I'm kind of locked into 16:9 just because everything is built around the edges of the screen being exactly in 16:9 dimensions. Maybe I'll add an obvious "play in 16:9" on one of the intro pages.
So, I do like the scene. the concept of it is good. the only thing I thought was that the last part of that scene (where we see underneath) felt hampered by the art style. and again, don't get me wrong, I really don't hate the bigger blockier art style, I like it, and I think it works really well with the simpler animations, like the scene right where she is on the table getting licked, i think that looked good, but that last scene, if I'm being honest, kind of looked like blocks moving left and right. that's what i mean by, the art style detracted from that scene. I feel like if you want to do ambitious scenes like that in the future maybe add more detail to the characters. That way you wouldn't have to re do everything in a new art style, you could just save to detail for the special animations.

The Thestral is a really good idea, and I think the invisible beast could have potential all its own. But I do think you may be right about people liking to see what's actually doing the fucking too. A unicorn could allow for the same horse-style scene, but then you could have an invisible (thestral) and visible (unicorn) version of essentially the same scene perhaps? Kind of satisfy both? Not sure if that is as easy as it seems like it might be to do a reskinning of the scene though. I personally would throw my vote in for a centaur scene too, if you're looking for any other beast ideas. Phoenix could be interesting too, as could dragons. Thanks! I'm glad I'm not losing the ability to self-evaluate my own art. The boggart scene is definitely going to be expanded, this update or next. For fantastic beasts I have plenty of ideas but it's hard to settle on a single one (the one I keep coming back to is an invisible thestral but I don't know if people will find the creature being invisible as a let down).
Corruption/progression is the last big non-Hscene thing I want to add. I've been hashing out ideas for it for quite a while but there are many issues with each approach I come up with (for example I'd love for each potion to have non-corrupt and corrupt variants but it is too big a workload for my current situation). I do really like the idea of only getting X amounts of brews per day though...
The name-swap system in it's current form was added this update so I did forget to include some things. (also Neville should be swapped with Normand not Nevi). Also also, I'm not sure if you noticed this but if you put the player name as "Hermione" all the names auto-change to harry potter names.
I'm going to have to swallow a bitter pill and simplify the diary a bit. The current opening diary page will be removed and replaced with the potion list page. I'll also add a tick to or cross out successfully brewed potions.
I kind of want to keep Esc as a dead-man-switch, but an options screen will hopefully be ready next update.

A couple of people have got confused by the hint so I'll change it next update to something less obtuse.
The thestral could be a good combo potion with the Magical Mess Remover, but instead of seeing through clothes, we can see the thestrals instead. It doesn't make sense lorewise, but since it said in the Magical Mess Remover book that it would revolutionize cleaning, it could work.
It's your baby, do what you want with the game, but if you truly plan to implement some sort of corruption mechanic to add a sense of progression to the game, prolly should just implement a money system allowing "Harmony" to buy whatever you feel like adding (so exotic ingredients to start, exotic clothing etc. for later). Plus it would give a player something to do between the potion mixing scenes (but admittedly could be a lot of work, depending on how far it is taken). Just seems so odd that the game references making money via the Floo network but the player never actually sees any money... or I guess do mealtimes.
by story, the character very much so has her life outside of the potion room
I don't know if a money system would do anything but add extra grind. This is ultimately a puzzle game about figuring out clues to potion combinations. Locking progression behind the need to repeat solved potions just to be able to buy needed ingredients seems frustrating. I think this is one of those instances where the "less is more" design philosophy is beneficial.

Hah you're right about HP giving far too many options (makes me wonder how advanced care of magical creature lessons went). I think centaur is a good pick, kinda fits the same niche as thestral/unicorn.
A cool idea but I dunno how I could get the witch lugging the magical mess remover to a thestral stable from a lore perspective. Anything I could think up is a bit to contrived and doesn't really fit the overall narrative of brewing potions.
Yeah money's something I've thought about too, but it doesn't really fit story-wise. (why would Hermione have to pay for ingredients in detention? If it isn't detention then why would she carry on making the lewd potions alone in a classroom etc etc.)

I reasonably believe it has some kind of progression it is just non-linear. But if you want some more linearity, introduce potions that need "lower-tier" aka already solved potions as one of their three ingredients.
Possibly, but no reason to assume it would lock progression in solving puzzles (although depending on design choices, yes, it could). Could only just make alternate scenes available via "experimentation" with different ingredients after a recipe is discovered. But honestly up to dev, it could just as easily become a straight boondoggle as it could become an improvement.
That might work, but game already has enough trouble with people solving the puzzles that are already in the game. Still, it would certainly introduce a sense of progression. Might work better if after solving all initial puzzles Hermione is interested enough to "borrow" the invisibility cloak for a midnight stroll through the Restricted Books section... or at least make it clear that there is an entire second half that uses initial potion recipes that is ONLY available after solving all the initial puzzles.
Very true with some detail being lost, the bimbo potion increases lip size but I didn't notice that at all until I read the reference in the text part of the scene. Had to go back and remake the potion a few times to verify this. I wonder if some detail loss occurs just depending on monitor size? My monitor is a very practical and cheap (ie, not widescreen), so anything larger would start to lose detail anyways unless game's pixelation count increases depending on monitor output size.
I think your proposed Corruption mechanic could fit that bill nicely. As "Harmony" solves more and more potions, she gets more and more depraved, and that in turn unlocks variations and/or different paths available to her. That would give a sense of her evolving and progressing without feeling tacked on or incompatible with the plot.
