The RPG elements I would have to think about. Focusing more on dungeon and monsters would pull away attention from the story (especially mine, as I sometimes enjoyed doing the slime and dungeon AI more than rendering the art & story tasks ;) )
Cool. And I can definitely see that on sinking time into the dungeons, or in any of these suggestions. I mean, it is a lewd game after all and we're on this site for a reason. So take this ALL with a grain of salt. I'm just a rando on some porn game site. :)
But by RPG element I was actually referring in general to skill points that MC can actually use outside of the dungeon as well, in all the player's interactions, which are gained quicker/slower depending on which time-management tasks/activities they decide to spend their time on each day. In a way, you already have this RPG element for corrupting the princess and no doubt future NPCs, though the points are assigned to them. But the strategy is still not quite there yet.

The strategy here can come from the order of tasks the player uses to build skill points, where high or low stats in one skill or another can either rush or bottleneck another skill being gained.

For instance (off the top of my head. Not suggesting this): let's say there was a magical logic-related puzzle game that built MC's intellect + awarded dirty scenes or images, like a crystal ball with some archaic runes you have to line up properly to spy on an NPC. Or a randomly changing rune-puzzle lock on a magic diary of an NPC with dirty portraits of what they do alone or fantasize about which change through progression. Let's say there is also a heavy crate you can lift for a bit of exercise (physique points), as you're blocked from physically performing a certain sex move or turning a certain NPC on for further sexual progression. Now, you could just spend an hour or two lifting that crate every day for the proper physique points. OR you can spend time on a puzzle, unlocking that diary for dirty pictures, developing intellect. Now, let's say there are some bricks and bars in the corner of the storage room that you can click on but have no idea what to do with. An MC that has spent his time perving on the NPC by unlocking that diary has gained enough intellect that a new option unlocks when clicking on those bricks and bars. He sinks a few hours into how to make a bunch of weights for an exercise room. When he uses the weight room, the activity takes twice the time as the crate but he gains 3x the physique of lifting that crate. In effect, gaining multiple skills more efficiently, even with a more front-loaded time-sink. Quicker, more efficient progression is awarded to the player based on the choices they make. Maybe with a few extras they wouldn't see otherwise, too. Doesn't make the crate useless either though. If the MC only has an hour to burn before hitting another timed event at the right hour, it's a way to build that extra bit of skill if needed, which does add up. Or MC may need just a little bit of that specific skill earlier in the game to solve another bottleneck that will gain him progression more quickly, which the crate works perfectly for.

You'd have to have some sort of timed fail-states for various characters or for the entire game as well if you were to make a time management RPG style narrative game more engaging.

There are definitely better porn games out there than BOTB, but a lot of them require some crazy programming or just wouldn't fit with the current theme. Just thought some time management might work well with yours, based on the way time passes in TPATT.

Just mentioning since I've found the best lewd games (that I've at least enjoyed playing the most) have both a great lewd story and engaging gameplay elements that immerse the player into the world and help break up the monotony. It also helps make repetitive tasks more engaging since, let's be real, there is only so much a one person dev-team can code and render.

Does the new guild debt stuff have a purpose? Because after paying off one week only to find the debt keeps getting bigger, I stopped playing this version. Just seems like an unnecessary grind that actively distracts from the focus of the game, the princess. I mean, if you're going to introduce a mandatory parallel grind, at least have a carrot at the end of it, not just the stick.

Does the new guild debt stuff have a purpose? Because after paying off one week only to find the debt keeps getting bigger, I stopped playing this version. Just seems like an unnecessary grind that actively distracts from the focus of the game, the princess. I mean, if you're going to introduce a mandatory parallel grind, at least have a carrot at the end of it, not just the stick.
Well, its like in real life.

If you don't hand over money at home and meet your external obligations, things won't end well for you... ;)

On a more serious note:
  • Paying off the guild debt will motivate the Guild to send you an aspiring young thief to train (that's the carrot). She can do the dungeon runs for you and has some other benefits...
  • This angle wasn't made too clear in the Guild letter, it was only clarified, once the debt has been paid off (which isnt too difficult, but still takes about 10-15 days.)
  • Anyway, from your comment I realized it's a bit harsh to fail the MC at the first week he cannot keep up with enough payments to reduce his debt (which has interest accruing)
So I've make the guild letter clearer in V0.4.1 and implemented some warnings, if you should fall behind.

But anyway, if you want to actually see the new char, you'll have to wait for V5 (which is B07 for patreon, a month later public).

  • The error dump: This error was not reproduceable, would occur only under conditions that cannot be achieved. Don't know, what went wrong there. Anyway, I added one paranoid exception check more to the code so it can't occur. Always good to make code more robust.
  • As to the achievement "well trained pet": Please not, that you need 3 times (not in a row but in total) to finish the game with 2 stars or more (regardless of your SUB value). Then you get that achievement.
Tnx for the tip about 3 x 2 stars or above....did the trick...used older save and now going to get on with the game...tnx again

I was wondering what the current version 4.0 max is for SLU and SUB. Also, I've seen pictures of the queen where she is not in the mirror. How do you get her in the castle without allowing her hordes to attack through the portal and end the game?
The max is 10 SUB and 20 SLU.
The queen has fullscreen nude posing options in v0.4.1 when you "walk up" to the mirror (still remote, no Keep visits)

There will be two new (female) characters in V5 (an assistant the thieves' guild sends you once you pay off the guild and an apprentice witch)

You have unfortunately run into the quest bug in V0.4RC3. This corrupts the SLU quest progress. Sorry for that.

It is fixed in V04RC4 (up in Op) . Please use a savegame _before_ you have done the night visit at Irith.

Or wait for Patreon only version 0.4.1 with quite a bit of new NFSW art especially on this quest and replay ;)

Quite enjoyed what I've played so far. The weird princess is surprisingly fun as a character, and the gameplay ... it's not just clicking through a bunch of text and occasionally making a choice, so that gets kudos either way.

I'd agree that the grind is generally a bit too much for what content there is; and it's definitely not fun doing the same thing, esp. when the RNG is kinda ... eh, it's RNG. So either you roll back to get what you want/need, in which case things are even more of a chore, or you play properly, in which case you get punished by even more grinding ...
Personally I'd at least consider a Magic Supply Chest (the princess got to survive somehow) which you "loot" each day for some basics instead of searching the same rooms again and again and somehow finding new stuff, too.

Also, the bath thing specifically where you just have to stand there with zero indication of a timer or anything happening etc, I don't think that's any sort of good design. It's point&click-ish otherwise so that's probably what you should do; click on the princess, pick "stay and watch" (or something).

But, eh, mileage may vary and all that.

Also, just this weird vibe I got while playing it, with doing those chores over and over again and generally doing what the princess demands; okay, sure, I'm 99% sure that's not a planned direction for the game, but I'd personally find it absolutely hilarious if gob protagonist turned into this sort of hyper-competent "anime" butler trope - basically, princess trains goblin as perfect personal butler, goblin simultaneously trains princess to become some slutty pet. :D

Thx for the feedback.

Some pointers regarding version 0.4.1 (RC done, release 16.06. on patreon):

- Chest items and loot amount now level dependent (reduced randomising)
- The horrible „wait and do nothing“ decisions removed (now triggered by clicking chat etc.)
- Skip to phase x and easy mode selection options on start screen
- Lots of NSFW additions to spice up existing story arc
So hopefully some of my design flaws are history with that.

Searchable chest is a good idea to „bundle“ daily search stuff. Added feature as

CR-0140 / Gameplay / Bundle daily room searches into e.g. chest
As to the goblin:
Despite all the training and favours, he somehow ends up giving her most of his money (voluntarily). Like in real life. Go figure ;)

i cant seem to unlock the bath scene...i go in the bathroom after doing her quest of picking item from her room and wait, but she only did some pose...unlocked blowjob and just gave her fruit after first deepthroat, sub and slu are over 10 what should i do ?

That seems like an odd status.
The blowjob doesn't trigger if the bath scene isn't done.

If you're on 0.4RC3 it might be the SLU quest bug.
I recommend D/L of RC4 (in OP), reload a save befoe the first night visit of Irith and replay that part.

the new version 0.4.1 is out on

Thanks to helpful feedback from the community, the game is now much closer to what I originally intended.

Despite small increment in version number, changes to last public V0.4 are imho significant:

  • Irith: Lots of cutscenes with gratuitous nudity, mini animations added, ...
  • Illiana: Nude cutscenes once portal is open, mini animations added, ...
  • Quest help system
  • Dialogue changes to give MC better guidance, removed "wait and do nothing" scene
  • Streamlined crafting, batch crafting
  • Upgradeable build materials (eg. Iron-> silver-> gold etc.)
  • Improved dungeon mechanics
  • Level dependent loot amount, less rando
  • Accessible inventory
  • Difficulty setup and skip options at new game start
  • Save game compatible to V0.4 (unless you have a corrupted V0.4 RC3 save-game w/ “no ero novel” bug”)

Public release of these features will be downstream with V0.5 (M07 patreon, E07 Public)

Anyone know how to craft a weapon to get past the spectral slime in the lower dungeon? Great game up to this point, but now I'm stuck.
