Could be because the game gets more difficult with every update because unity isnt a "linear" game engine everything is like a net and dependent on one another thats why you cant cheat that easily in this game because it depends on events and such

It sounds like a messed up variable in your game's data.
Have you done any cheating that wasn't money or energy restoration?

yes, change the time, but that had never complicated me in other parts of the game

IIRC, that used to be a cause of some issues in the past, along with changing the day.
Considering that there's more than adequate time and day skip functions built into the game itself, that kind of save editing is not needed.

Hopefully it's just a case of identifying the borked variable and correcting it. Regretfully I'm not the best person for that though.
