Don't do that, you'll break the even further. it's literally the worse thing you can do.
best advice, grab a previous version, even if it's 0.38 and wait until the fixed version of 0.40 is released.

UPDATE ON INCEST PATCH
Just got confirmation that the incest patch reported by Fragmandk is 100% confirmed
Originally I was sceptical, since as practice I would normally not take things at face value, there needs to be something to back it up.
And in this case, once Fragmandk provided the screenshots and the confirmation I saw on the discord, the patch will be available to people on the beginners tier alongside 0.40Final. At least that's my understanding.

You can use with 0.40 to pick up where 0.39final ended.

ROFL Who is maintaining the "Official Walkthrough" in the OP??? Because whoever it is doesn't know how to count. At the end of v.37 Step 741 it jumps to 744 in v.38. So either there were originally 2 extra steps that got removed and the rest did not get renumbered or when adding v.38 the numbering got messed up by 2, I am not sure which. However, it would help to get them renumbered for accuracy because the post above mine, Hooter is asking about step 763 and Julia coming to MC's room but 763 in the WT is going to Michelle's house to ask for help.
