Quick bug and 3 questions: Bug is in the attached save file, 9-3. Trying to click on of those expidition buttons in the edge of darkwood leads to a error, rolling back makes it so that the energy is spent and nothing is gained.

1st question is: what do magic crystals from the flying island do? and second question: Why does killing a kraken net a Burghess but an auto success yacht event yield a noble? Seems a bit off...

Third question: Can I challenge the adventuring knight, or do I have to wait another couple years for them to find my lair? Same thing with the thief, still have had an invasion from her, even after at least 2 times she found the lair and decided to fuck off. I am 6000+ turns into this playthrough, after setting my demon seals to 10k and killing every cultist event I have only gotten 1 knight attack and as stated before, no thief entrances. I have a goddamn Underground burrow, for Drake's sake!

BTW, in my opinion that is literally the best lair. Theoretically infinite expasnsion, lasts from early game to late game, lack of natural defense doesnt matter as knights and thiefs apparently take years to find a 10 ton flying lizard, available from the very start, and is overall a 10/10 lair, cozy and heated from the earths core and the dirty aesthetic makes for a cornerstone of style

Another few things, 3 errors and a some questions: Both save files are just simple things you can hit ignore on, and game goes smothely. But they still deprive you of the aftermath of the dwarven kingdom and the aftermath of the stone castle, so that aint nice. The third error is a bit more annoying, the transformation potion to Danu cannot be applied to anyone. Didnt include a savefile for that, as it is pretty simple and easily repeatable AFAIK.

For the questions: Can you easily add a stasis pod mechanic/building? I have just been pressing .pngs that I like the look of into dragon maidens, but that costs a hell of a ton of upkeep. Being able to crete a building that stores 1 or 5 or infinite minions would be nice. Currently if I want to play with say, the captured knight, I have to release the minion from storage, play with it, then put it into a farm or pit, then take it out, then play with it. If I just want to look at it, I still have to release to look at it, as I cannot select the minions from the minion overview bar on the Info panel. Being able to store them would save a lot of upkeep and ideally make it so you can look at the pngs of monsters and maidens more easily.

Another thing is, is there a way to manually trigger events instead of just rng-ing until you get there? A console command or something? I want to take a look at the triton castle and all, and I dont want to go through that whole process even more after all this time of no luck.

My final question for this post: For the quest Army of Darkness, do you have to have 100 dragonspawn in your lair or give 100 dragonspawn to the army directly? I have given 2k points of force to the Dragonian army so far, and I feel that should have procced quest completion by now.

The questing knight is one of the encounters on the trade routes. Pick the option 'prey on travelers' you should encounter him.

I think a defense value of 500 stops captive escape, so you could just leave captives unassigned.

To manually trigger events, enable debug mode in settings, or enable the console.

The army quest just needs you to have the minions in lair.

Probably the expenses/pregnancy screen issue again.

They're supercharged Sparks of Creation: +3 mana, +1 lust, +10HP.

Random chance. Both events have a 2/3 chance to get a townswoman and a 1/3 chance to get a noble.

No. If you want to challenge knights, there are plenty of armoured idiots riding around on the roads. I'm increasing how fast the Knight can find your lair, but it generally takes ~20 lair-finding events (the ones that say 'It is not so easy to reach the Dragon's Lair.') until he finds you. If you only sleep in bite-sized chunks, he currently has a lot of trouble getting the more useful events.

You're too tough for her. :p I hope the increased event chances will make both of them more of a threat.

Just for the record, what are they usually doing when you go to sleep? If they're mostly busy with useless things, like rescuing kittens and complaining about the black market, that's exactly the problem I'm trying to solve. If you want to perform an ad hoc fix, find the corresponding labels in 'lair - sleep.report.rpy' and change the weight 60 to something smaller for both of them. That file has only 3 instances of '60' in it, so the right ones should be pretty evident.

Good point. But you have to pay for that expansion and the better lairs come with neater backgrounds and music, prebuilt stuff, etc.

I'm introducing satiety caps, so that infinite expansion really won't be infinite any more. I think I'll also make lair expansion costs not depend on pre-existing space, so if a lair is larger at the start, it will also have more potential.

There's a hidden 'minion defense' value as well, which boosts your minions defending the lair. Burrow has 1.25, titan castle has 3.0.

Can you add the tracebacks, too? I'm pretty sure these are again the expenses/pregnancy thing, since they seem to more or less work in the WIP version.

These work fine for me. :cautious: But I think I'll just remove those two altogether, since they provide no real benefit. Danu and Aphrodite actually (mostly) exist as certain elf or angel variants, and having an extra potion for picking out a specific girl pack is really going a bit too far, IMO.

o_O Girl upkeep remains the same regardless of whether they're minions or not, 10c per day.

Then you'll be glad to know that I've implemented interacting with girls and inspecting minions stationed within buildings. That includes the 'assign' screen as well. Took me a lot of trouble, too.

Yeah, interacting with girl minions isn't likely to become a thing, since most of the options aren't applicable. You don't want pregnant minions running around on the battlefield, now do you?

You'll be able to at least look at them, though.

Yes, 'renpy.call('label'). Will crash the game if that label doesn't exist, and I recommend using it from an event (menu), not the main or lair screens, otherwise some graphics/text might not show up properly. Triton palace is 'event_sea_triton'. Or you can just console 'dragon.landmark('event_sea_triton')' and then use the locations menu.

In the lair. The quest system isn't really terribly flexible, so I went with the path of least resistance and reused existing code.

Well, that's not the Knight, that's just a random dragonslayer wannabe. You do all the work for him, too, skipping the whole hunting business. :D

I'm pretty sure even 250 will stop even rebellious angels from flying away from the ravine. Better lairs have inherent maluses on top of that, and you can injure the girls or raise their affection to lower the chance even more.

Getting more mana, like for when you're trying to enter the Enchanted Forest, or the Capital, or are building stuff.

It's a poverty event, so devastate the Kingdom, go swimming, and succeed on two dice rolls: first for getting a poverty event, and then a 1/8 chance of getting the Kraken.

Probably a very stupid question, but where can I find the id(s) of events in the files? I am trying to make a little guide for myself, and just using my own experiences is not very useful. Also, attached is a screenshot of a peasant, one with ears of alv.

Everywhere. :p Really, the labels are scattered all scross the script files. You'll probably want those in 'game/story' or even 'game/story/hunt', but e.g. Knight and Thief are nowhere near that.

If you want to be comprehensive, search for 'label ' (the space is important!) with some sort of grep tool.

Also, attached is a screenshot of a peasant, one with ears of alv.
Eh, I suppose she's cosplaying or a half-elf, or something. :sneaky: Peasant variety is low enough as it is.

I think my sea location is stuck at summon event lol it keeps giving fresh girls to play with. Too much fear maybe. Poverty is abt 20.

Precisely so. I'm capping the amount of girls you can have, so such events become less profitable later on.

Poverty is abt 20.
That's the max, actually. The WIP version converts poverty to a 100-point scale, since it's far easier to increase poverty than fear or mobilization. The latter two remain are on a 20-point scale, too.

Of course they do. There's even a special line of dialogue about the dragon giving them a little pat on the ass to make them run away faster if they got pregnant. :D

If your lair is capped, the random sex provides you with the option to rob and either impregnate or eat/kill her. IDK if gating all this behind lust is okay, but well...

Ok just tried and they do get pregnant if played with right there.

The countryside location - with high fear/poverty picking any of the town village options results in a guard encounter, then nothing. Is this correct? I thought the town village could be reached after disposing of the guard.

This is supposed to represent the situation where the dragon gets intercepted by a patrol on his way, and spends all the time on fighting instead of actually finding a village. If he really wants to get to one, he has to continue searching, spend more time and risk another patrol, which is done by choosing the same 'find village' option again.

Edit: If the kingdom is fully fortified, i.e. 20 mobilization (which sorta requires a pretty badass dragon, too), the villages are unreachable since the patrols can cover all routes. I'll make it so that killing a patrol will lower mobilization immediately.

Are there any plans for more types of maidens? Like actual princess with a royal class instead of noble, and fairys being different than angels? Also, if devestation does get its cap increased to 100, how do you actively reduce devastation? And finally, are you intending this mod to make Defiler wings a game with smut elements or smut with game elements? Looking at stuff like Strive Conquest and mods for SDT, they have large content dedicated to sexual things, and looking at Deranged Dragon, there is a lot of light smut and sexual things, but it seems like the reason I would come back to it instead of other games or books or essays or just generally anything else is the game elements and the text based adventure/strategy. If you intend to make it smut with game elemnts, it would be nice to have even more expanded features during playing sessions, stuff like evolutions that increase excitement, an option to continue pounding instead of orgasming, the plaything orgasming, evolutions that increase excitement or add more options (Or at least allow added heads to do their thing instead of only the initial head being able to do special actions). If you plan to make it a game with smut elemnts, then I would absolutelty love to see increased modability in this mod of a mod of a game, so each person who picks it up can easily add their preffered content (Or at least a guide on how to allow a beginner like I to add new enemies and event triggers for said enemies). More things that could be added would be having gradual evolutions, or sub evolutions, like wings being locked until you reach average size, and additional heads unlocking elemental types for that head, stuff like (New Bare Head [+10 HP, +1 damage, 20 points] -> Acid Glands (acid elemental damage, 20 points) -> Venom Spew (+3 attack, 30 points)). or other things like (Cohesive Carapace (+30 HP, 10 points) -> [Scales (+20 HP, +10 Phys resist, 50 points) -> Impenetrable Scales (+100 HP, +20 physical resist, 70 points)] or [Spines (+10 HP, +2 attack, 30 points) -> Better Spines (+20 HP, + 5 attack, 40 points)]). I dunno, just some ideas

EDIT: Is there any timeline for the next update of this mod, BTW?

I think there is only 1 fairy in the game? The one you rescue in darkwood and have the option of keeping or release.

Barged into the town and demanded a virgin. Why is she dead? But taking back to lair shes quite healthy tho. Robbing the town will get the same dead display, but in lair she will have half health.

No, since that'd require me to come up with a bunch of new 'girl packs' and portraits, which is far easier said than done. There's only one fairy, anyway, and the effort to make her into an actual one went nowhere. If someone provides me with the pictures (I posted the specs before), I could add her, but I'm not spending time finding images for her anytime soon.

Also, if devestation does get its cap increased to 100, how do you actively reduce devastation?
As usual, by waiting until it goes down and refraining from increasing it in the meanwhile. Upping the limit to 100 means you can be more liberal in your destructive activities before the Kingdom enters a vicious cycle where poverty is so high it barely recovers at all.

And finally, are you intending this mod to make Defiler wings a game with smut elements or smut with game elements?
Defiler Wings is a somewhat different game than Time for Dragons, more of a CYOA than a full game. And it already had its insane modder in Ahrin Mahariel. :p

But in general, I'm aiming for the first, a game that has liberal amounts of (drawn) porn in it.

The sex events are already comparatively quite complicated from a code point of view, and I haven't even managed to proofread the whole thing yet. :confused: So don't hold your breath.

This is Ren'Py, a control flow layer over pygame, something comparatively newbie-fiendly. Learning basic coding in Ren'Py/Python will serve you far better than any half-assed guide I could come up with. And you'll have learned something applicable outside of gaming as well. :)

This is already dead simple. For instance, open up mob.yaml and, say, forest.rpy, search for 'elf_ranger' and follow the examples.

Very easy to do, but I like that you can have a tiny dragon with two sets of wings and a bigass stinger buzzing around and terrorizing people. :D

These are basically overloading the evolution system with a large amount of relatively meaningless choices. I'd rather have the upgrades be more unique.

When it's done. I've been busy and slightly demotivated of late, but the release always seems no more than a week away. My todo list now has 9 relatively easy things, adding some more general pictures, and the witch+queen events on it, with artwork largely ready.

Yes, just implemented that.

So far there is only 1 princess in the game, you get to meet during the demon ending.
There are actually a couple more at the royal palace and the summer palace. Marianne will return and be a princess as well.
