I personally like the old man jenkins is mc theory and that evil bacon is from the same universe as the evil mc which is all under bacon's dad's doing. So really its time travel but jumping into other realities and parallel universes also which is even better

Old man jones is old Bacon , and it is not impossible to be your own grandfather or father, it is as much as traveling in time and since we are traveling in time it is possible and even more so if you go fucking with every woman you meet in the past

That would depend on your (or the Devs) perception of how time works.
1) If you apply that time is linear (as in you have free choice of the decisions you make and the future isnt pre-determined), then its near impossible for you to be your own father/grandfather as it would cause a horrid loop on timeflow which you would never escape from.
2) If time is pre-determined (as in you have already made the choices but are now living in it, man i sound like Morpheus right now) then the events of you being your own father/grandfather is possible as you would need to create yourself to keep the timeline going, otherwise it would collapse (but that would be impossible because you will have already made the decision to create yourself)
There are other versions of how temporal physics would apply here but these 2 are the likely culprits.
