There are more people having problems with unitys built-in VideoPlayer. Their video player is fragile as hell and does not support all codes and containers (different Devs on different platforms describing those problems as mentioned by Skyrim in Unitys forum - without a solution yet!). On my side.. yeah, I also have problems with the animation - on a fresh installed Windows 10 (32bit/64bit) running in a VM. And everyone using Wine also have problems with the animation, because the Video player doesn't load at all (but this should not be your problem!

So, ...either the video engine is shit or there is a minor ("mistake"/bad integration/execution) problem within the code. (I mean this not as an adverse criticism)
Aesouh does the animation work for you on a MacBook/Apple Computer with a native (MacOS) output?
Maybe you could share some small samples of Day1/Night 1 animations in different format containers/codecs (webm, mp4, H.264...) and we give you feedback, what works and what doesn't. Better we/you fix the problem now, as long as the game is in an "early stage", as later, when you plan to port to other platforms.
This are just my two cents regarding this topic and doesn't mean to offend the Devs or anyone else! :coldsweat:
