Yeah, the dev is active on his discord, if you want to take a look at what he's doingl.
His discord is mostly just memes and the occasional image of a girl in a different outfit. It's not particularly illuminating.
Nothing he posts whether it's on the discord or his patreon is anything of substance. At most it's him making the off comment about currently coding something or working on a new clothing asset, followed by a generic image of one of the female characters in a different outfit. There's no in depth discussions about the process or how many renders he's completed, or how close to finishing it is. Other than that, it's memes, football talk and Roy just shooting the shit with his pals. And that's all it's been for the last year or so.

dude fucking the goddess, probably was going to multiple of them, I am not sure he would die. Maybe dev was hinting dude still fucking his harem in modern times by sending occasional girls in modern clothes renders, who knows, right?
This is actually a good game, apart from the gormless looking MC, it's a shame this has been abandoned as I was peeved there hadn't been an update in forever... After what felt like an eternity of playing, boom the end.

Well, the dev posts regulary and says he's working on it, but no actual information like what was done render, animation or scene count, or what still needs to be done. Also no eta and the dev doesn't seem sure he will manage to finish the update this year.

Guy hasn't posted an update in over a year and a half but still keeps his devlogs behind a paywall. Doesn't seem like to best way to get new patrons.
Except for the crying.
Feels like a coin toss to me. On the one hand, yeah, not being able to see what progress is being made without paying doesn't seem like an attractive prospect.
On the other hand, I think that the lack of updates makes it clear what progress has been made, and if you could read the devlogs without paying, there'd be a risk of noticing the copy-paste-esque nature of them essentially talking about all the great but invisible strides this project has seen.

We should let the fans of "My Sweet Neighbours" know about this fact. They have waited 7 years already for the new update.
The developer IT ROY replied to my message the other day and said:
