I like being able to pick and choose my harem, not just be forced into having everybody because the game demands it.

The trick is to pick everyone. Then you won't be "forced".
PS. Note that the current arrangements with the King regarding marriage to his daughters aren't really valid anymore.

The game needs it. It is a very good game and it needs animation to make it even better than it is.
May I ask, I just started the game and thinking what does the fear skill do? I have a fair amount of the fear skill, is it how much they fear you or how much you're scared of them

I don't think it makes much sense to try to introduce animations into a project as far along as TBAK.
In general animations are simply much easier to handle when a developer moves away from RenPy to a fully 3D engine such as Unity or Unreal. ITRoy has expressed interest in these for his next project, so perhaps in a few years.

I was gone almost the entire month of May and the beginning of June, so I've just now finished this latest release.
Should I ever find time in the future — hah! — I would like to see the differences when the MC is committed to each girl individually. I feel like some of them, despite their sometimes annoying flaws, could become seriously sweet and adorable if doted on exclusively. But I may never know if I don't find time to do other playthroughs.

I agree; starting at this point doesn't make any sense to me. I feel like it would ruin the flow / immersion that exists right now. Suddenly the whole first half of the game feels lifeless in comparison, or all of the scenes without them feel less good. I don't think I would like that at all. Also, some of us are old enough to appreciate porn without animation as well. The days of Playboy and Hustler definitely bring me back.

I never understand the demand for animations. Unless the animations are really great they always feel enter the uncanny valley really fast. Great stills are much better than almost good animations. And creating great animations take a lot of time better spent on progressing the story in my opinion.

I tried this game once before, long ago, but bounced early because I found the youngest princess too childish and clingy; thought I'd give it another go and now I find that she might be the least worst of the three. The middle sister is a mean-spirited bully (and likely sadist), and the eldest is a powerhungry traitor who's been embezzling from the kingdom for years in the midst of an economic crisis. Oh well, good thing my MC is a man-whore with low no standards.
So far the prince seems like the most appealing of the siblings, he's just immature and a bit of an idiot, but I don't think he's an option.

afaik he had something to do with kidnapping of his sister and then he killed those kidnappers which general caught.
it looks that he's a gay so it could be humor ending where mc and prince end up together.

His involvement in the kidnapping hasn't been proved (although his behaviour is certainly suspicious); it could easily be a stitch-up.
The characters in the game treat it as clinching evidence that the kidnappers referred to their boss as "Gaius", because no-one uses that name anymore but there used to be a famous Roman named Gaius Marius. Meanwhile, at least two background characters in the game are also called Gaius.
(Historically of course, Gaius was one of the most common names in the Roman world, but we'll let that slide.)
