The devs both said that covid is a problem (which it is in some countries but most western countries are mostly fine now) and that they got it. That means it's still an issue there, regardless if you live in Taiwan or the US, if you get sick, you get sick and can't work. Which causes delays, so acting like they getting sick is not a problem is ridiculous.
It might not kill them anymore if they have gotten the vaccine, but they can still get bedridden for a few days to a week or two if it's more serious.
From their latest dev message on steam.
And unless they have some toxic workplace that forces them to work while sick, it should cause delays. But I know this is a foreign concept for US citizens where they go to work sick or they get docked pay or fired. (I partly kid, but seen enough sms DMs on reddit to know it's a thing that is not a lie/joke for some. So for those that have that happen to you, my condolences.)
This company’s communication outright sucks. Even if any of them came down with Covid, the constant lack of updates and communication regarding this game has very little to nothing to do with Covid. They are just using it as a de facto excuse at this point to again give reason and explanation why the development of this game is running at a snail’s pace. Small company as it may be, they have no clue what it means to communicate regularly with their customers, whether it be distributors or the end customers themselves. I’m just surprised in this day and age, a technical developer as they are is this clueless when it comes to running an actual company, this level of ineptness as far as routine communication is concerned.

They have made games before, finished it. And they don't follow the usual milk the Patreon with updates each month that does not add anything of substance, but are actually trying to make a game with gameplay (regardless if you enjoy it or not, they are not just adding a sex viewer like some other 3D games).
The update before this also took months before they put out a new playable build, the expectation that devs need to put out an update once a month or so (build not just a post, talking with your customer base is important and they are not doing the best there tho.) is destroying the market with the trust issues they are creating.
If you post updates once a month it has "too little features added" but if you put out a build once every 6 months, they are too slow and should quit. They are treated as scammers regardless of what they do.
While I agree that they need to communicate more, the need for a "playable build" once every 1-3 months is dumb, most indie/porn devs are 1-5 people. That is not a lot and they oftentimes work 10-50% of their time on the games, so expecting that they are working 40h/week (100%) and push out updates often is ridiculous, making games cost millions unless they are small in scope or have just one person working on them. And if they are one person, it takes years for a game to come out.
This team got the same crap last update when they were teasing the first 18+ update, people were thinking they were lying and nothing would come, then came the update and people complained instead about the "lack of sex scenes" when it had more added than the sex. I get it's a porn game, but some want the sex as a side to whatever they are playing.
This game looks like it will be quite good once its fully out, but calling it abandoned and a scam for not meeting your made-up time expectations is just dumb, let them make the game, if they have gone over a year with even a post on Patreon or steams dev messages then, I could consider it abandoned. Not when it's been like 2-3 months since their last message showing progress to the game.
It would look quite good once it's out... if it gets finished relatively soon. The problem is, a this rate once it's done it will be out dated and old. There will be 2 or 3 new gens of console by than and this game engine will be ancient by that point. It will feel like playing a PS1 game does now.

Yes, and no one here is denying that.
Even if any of them came down with Covid, the constant lack of updates and communication regarding this game has very little to nothing to do with Covid.
Not what we are talking about tho, it's the abandonment tag/talk people here and on Steam we are talking about. Just thanks to it having no update for X time does not mean it's abandoned. People's made-up time frames for when game updates should come out are not indicative of whether or not a game is abandoned or not. You can hate the time it takes all you want but if the devs have a history of delivering updates, albeit slowly they are clearly not scammers. People are free to support them on Patreon all they want, the update still comes out on Steam where it's a one-time payment vs the monthly on Patreon. So, as long you are not on Patreon or they never finish the game on Steam, it's not a scam, just disappointment from you guys hoping/wanting monthly/bi-monthly updates.
They are just using it as a de facto excuse at this point to again give reason and explanation why the development of this game is running at a snail’s pace.
It is an excuse if it's false, or they can work from home. But unless you do an audit of their workplace, it's just at best speculation. Since you don't know if they are lying about being sick, or if they are just sick enough to not go to work and can work from home. I always take the stance to believe the people sending messages about being sick and similar situations if they prior have not made any actions to make me doubt them, like proven lies for example. If nothing like that, I will believe them as it's toxic to suspect people when they have made action for such harsh judgment when you don't know the situation. However once a lie has been found it's hard to trust a team again.
I’m just surprised in this day and age, a technical developer as they are is this clueless when it comes to running an actual company, this level of ineptness as far as routine communication is concerned.

It looks good, have played games that look worse than this and I have no problem with the textures. What matters more for long-term staying power is the controls, either you can't play games that grow old by 2 years or you are just looking for stuff to complain about. They could cut the quality in half and I still would not care, if you are talking about the gameplay aging poorly, we don't know that since the game is not done. Only once it's done do we know if they suck or not, since right now they can just scrap all the driving, cooking, etc for all we know.

why is this marked abandoned, if the most recent dev update was on 19th of january, this year?

looks like they've got a decent update to the game coming up.

most likely thanks to that the most recent main update (not minor bug fix) was like over a year ago. And people on here like to mark stuff abandoned even if the devs have shown activity so long it's not actually a playable update.
(since they can just "pretend to work" and just have a screenshot that took a few min to put out and then go quiet for like 6 more months. Since some pateron devs do this, post update via screenshot but no build then rinse and repeat til they have no more supporters. Most likely not what is happing here since their main income is from steam and not pateron, but they still do this to all games posted on here. No playable update for X months is auto abandoned tag, regardless if the devs are working on it or not.)

Nothing, i'm out.
Abandoned
My guy, they said:
I'm hoping
not that it would come out. It was just speculation on their part. Based on their (devs) history and when the last dev log was, it's more likely a update will show up in may or june.

If they got some message from the devs, it was most likely a rough ideal time, and these devs are awful with measuring their work tempo, one of the reasons they got a ton of hate when they dropped the first 18+ update. They said "soon" for about 5 months then, so just unwatch the thread and keep looking on latest updates/search for the tag "3D game" on the tag search and look if it got an update a few months from now. I am having more fun with this thread than I ever had with the game tho :KEK:

oh and april has barely started, maybe wait til the 28th or something devs in EA rarely put out a meaningful update other than maybe a cake or something in the base if they have anything set up for anniversaries. And the few that do put out bigger updates on those dates usually count it in months not the exact day, so once april is over they might consider the anniversary date missed.

I'm hoping this will update will come out next month for April's game annivarsary, if it doesn't I personally think April or June release cause that's how big the update is compared to Nana's story.
When is April’s game anniversary date exactly?

I don’t want to hear all of April either. This isn’t Black History month where they are given an entire month to celebrate their anniversary here.

It's passed now, it was the 9th. Again this is just speculation from one user, take their time frame when the update comes out with a massive amount of grains of salt. That is if you even consider that they got word from the devs, if you think they are lying then with a mountain of salt instead.

Is there character creation editting?
no, but once you get enough relationship points with the characters you can change their clothes. Maybe in the future, you can change how they or yourself look. But right now there is no such functions.

no news or something
:/
No, but if you go and check their update history (on steam) you will see that each update gets bigger, but also it took longer to make. First update they did took like 8 months from release, after that they took like a year for 2nd one and about a year for 18+ update. If we take that into consideration and that they have "overhauled" (we can't judge that before an update) the game's code then we can assume 1,5 to 2 years for the next update to come. Based on their update history, assuming they have not abandoned it. And if we take the 1,5 to 2-year estimate I have gotten from their history, we can assume the update should arrive around July this year to Feb next year.
Again, this is just an estimate based on their update history from the past, it can come anytime. Can arrive tomorrow or 3 years from now.

Yes, 5 days in. Also not a date for release, just speculation about when it could show up. No need to count the days and instead just wait for it to come out when it comes out. Indie devs should do just one thing, work on the game, while it's nice if we get updates, their main priority is to make it, some devs post monthly updates, others post yearly, others post when they feel like they are ready for it. And these devs follow the last one, when they feel like it's ready.

ALMOST JUNE! GIVE IT UP FOR ALMOST JUNE!

While the only thing I guess I can do for now is just speculate on why it takes long, I suppose I could use the time for something less productive. Hopefully the update comes soon and with whatever optimization they decided to add, I could run the game by then.

They did not seem to be making the code run better if you read their last post. Seemed more like an update where they changed or removed content that the players did not like. The clothing options for example have more stuff and work differently (you can see that from the screenshot) and something to do with the cars (I thought they felt floaty in the last update) so maybe it drives better now. Forgot if it's this game or something else, but I think they mentioned moving to the new unreal, so that might also be why it's taking so long. But might be thinking of a different dev here. (too lazy to check)
And then finally, giving us a new story for at least one other girl, and some new mode/function where "2 characters interact" which sounds like either the girls will have random conversations around the place or it's the NTR they promised early on.
