lol, from who? Disney?
Yeah.. That's another thing. "He stole from so-and-so" but so-and-so stole from Disney. Good luck on that "lawsuit" ... Thus my original comment about the hypocrisy.

Disney has enough firepower to bring this entire website down. Be careful where you people tread...

Are you actually going to argue profit doesn't make a huge difference in cases of intellectual property? Most legal systems would disagree with you if that's the case.

I don't even need to go into the argument of piracy actually promoting and resulting in more game sales (especially in the Patreon dominated, niche weg genre). The amount of succesful devs who are active on this site should speak for itself.

Edit : This discussion would be obviously off topic if the art creator is involved with this game. I hope it happens.
I agree with you. I meant the equating some individuals have done is the falacious argument of a strawman.

seems like nobody listen to me... alright then. :devilish:
Or nobody cares. Such is a pirate's way of life I suppose. Complaining about asset theft that was an asset theft in and of itself, "he stole from them who stole from they" type of nonsense..

We are well aware of the cases and reports made, while we don't condone asset ripping/stealing, we can't turn away everything
As a side note, we have removed developer's patreon link, etc
i think u can add this project to abondon now :D

I thought it obvious people could tell the difference between an artist using likeness of big corpo established characters to make something new and someone who rips said images to use them in a game. There is nothing transformative about the second act, something most courts of law take into account when dealing with copyright issues. Look up "parody-fair use" if you are really interested in learning why it's not the same.

Also from a purely ethical standpoint you can't really compare a huge media conglomerate that practically owns most of your entertainment to a single adult artist who draws nice asses.

Contrary to what you said, everything is ours, except just the drawings and story. DryreL (Animation Artist) is working with us and we strive to bring Viznity to as many players as possible. Animations, sound effects, translations, game mechanics, GUI designs, coding and bug tests etc... are made by us. To say no "original content" here is to ignore all the things we do.
He just said that the guy who does the animations is working with them so you can all stop. Now it's another problem if owner of the drawings himself is not related to the project.

Parody is protected speech.

But outright stealing assets is not protected anywhere unless they were released into public domain or with a permissive creative commons license (that would require to allow at least derivative works and commercial usage).

people pirating games upset over other pirates pirating assets from other games we really have come full circle on this site.
Ah so someone else who hasn't actually read into it. They're not upset over them stealing assets from other games, they're upset for the dev stealing someone else's art, and then not giving them any credit.

Also for what it's worth, depending on where you are, the definition of piracy may be quite a bit different. For instance, at least where I am, piracy is the act of stealing someone elses copywritten stuff, for instance their art, and then trying to make a profit on it for yourself, without their permission. What all of us do, by sharing and downloading stuff for free, isn't piracy. What the dev is doing, attempting to make a profit off of someone else's hard work without their permission, IS piracy.

Ah so someone who else who doesn't understand that this does not dismiss the irony of people complaining of theft on a website almost solely based upon theft.

Or as my trustworthy friend in the senate once said:
