I'm going to guess NLT has actually invested money in a render farm. Really that's the main thing holding games up is the insane amount of time creators wait for images to render.

This game was probably completed awhile ago and is now being released in regular installments while current patreon donations support development of the next game. I think most developers would do this if they could 'seed' the initial development without support, since it helps ensure on-time releases going forward, but obviously requires initial resources beyond what most have available.

I'm fairly certain they're creating ToN content in real-time, update by update (sometimes 'till the very last second on the countdown) while simultaneously working on Genesis Oder, which I'm sure people might have a hard time believing.
I reckon the only things that are done beforehand are storyline/planning, game assets, voice acting/sfx and whatnot to act as a solid foundation ensuring good development flow in the long run, but I of course could be completely off the mark.

People are saying he moved it to the 2nd to reduce load on the servers due to payment processing happening on the 1st. Last couple of updates has been on the 2nd anyways.Didn't the update come out yesterday?
