This is in terms of correctness and technically a wrong statement....If you only update your game every 2-3 months, you always need to download the full game.
You can also apply the needed updates successive. Pratical he's right. Its easier to DL the game in full every, lets say, 4-5 updates.
Thats correct.....In my experience you don't have to replace all other files you find in the win update... ...This is a trick to play the update on a Mac before the official Mac version is released...
I made yesterday a repack of the update and i think, if correctly applied, it works for Win/Linux/Mac from the same package. For Linux and Win i know it for a fact.(Tested myself)
From the voices here there should be no issues on the long run from it. You add new files and replace changed ones in the pevious game version. This gives you exactly the same package as a full DL.
