Have you got full or updatet only or compresed version?
Look to game folder if you have this file with exactly same name only with "*.rpgmvp"

I used a save from Alpine Eagle ( Page 182 ). It still tells me I can not put them together for the grappling hook.

^ To get this error, you fucked up with the updates-only order.
Solution 1 : scour the interwebz for every update-only known to man, download them all, apply them in the correct order, pray to RNGesus you can count in order and not fuck up
Solution 2 : get the full build and be done with errors (unless you cheat/mod/save edit)

v42072 is last version, then yes, its same version as 1st post.
