I have downloaded and updated to 40%, however, i keep getting "Loading error" messages. Can't even see what is happening inside squallmart. A little help please. And this is on Mac.

You probably updated the game incorrectly. You may have downloaded a compressed update. You may also have had an earlier version, so you need to download all the subsequent ones.

I crafted my blowdart before the Albert love potion. Worked fine for me.

That's interesting. In my case it broke my game. I went to Squallmart and nothing happened, I couldn't talk to Alia or Emily although the hint system told me to seek Alia's help.
I tried doing it the other way round, first waiting for Albert to go crazy and then going to the cave to craft the dart, and it worked. I went back to the store and the next scene triggered automatically.

Are you using compressed version? I have the same challenge. I have never seen a great white.

I am not using the compressed version. And I have seen a Great White, caught a ~430lb one previously. But since the 500lb challenge was issued, nothing.
