Oh yeah. That relationship as well. Though to be honest, I feel it was gimped by the time Savin turned his attention to corruption 2. The only reason I see why incest was kept for the bees is fen's apparent bug fetish.

So syri on flash when giving her the steele suit bugs out the game, been a thing for a while. The reason why I mention this is because when a bug occurs you don't go to the reload screen since well, it isn't online. Usually your menu will glitch out instead so if that happens, reload.

Could anyone explain what happened to this game? Did progress on it just slow down or stall? Its been going for years but I haven't seen much real progress towards an ending in a long time.. And i see some comments about different versions.. java vs flash.. did they start over and stop progress for a year or something?

Game development stalled for the time being while all attention is given to java*script* port and fixing it as it gets populated, as we all know now flash has been kaput, is not supported or developed anymore while game inevitably will grow larger. Imo even if it is killing the development speed its a good thing to move on while optimizing everything. Meanwhile story writers can still work on writing and all that is left to do is code the variables in(at least with the surface level understanding I've got of creating stories and variables in flash).

Not only that, but despite all the many, many complaints about bugs and crashes in the javascript port, the game's codebase is cleaner than ever. The bugs and crashes result for the most part from the fact that javascript's lack of circular inheritance forced them to clean up and restructure their codebase. So now things that were scattered all over, grandfathered in, or added slapdash are getting properly rebuilt and incorporated. It makes for a bumpy road in the short term in order to allow for smoother sailing long term.

God, that stat screen is way too busy. How did they screw that up so badly?
Wasn't the reason they gave COC I such a shitty, rushed ending because Fen hated writing for Java? And now, he's being forced to go back to Java? If Java gets kaput, does Fen say "fuck it" and crash his own patreon in frustration?

My memory does not go that far back nor did I actually follow every update so I don't think I've ever heard him hating AS3 or its successor(not far away from apple tree) java language but I was under the impression that he ran out of steam/muse for fantasty setting and wanted more of a sci-fi, as long as whoever doing the main coding is happy of the change and is proficent I couldn't care less, if the coding is streamlined and doesn't have loops you have to jump through as written here;

No, the reason the ending to COC1 was rushed was because Fen didn't want to work on it anymore since TITS was showing more financial promise, but he had already promised that he wasn't going to abandon the project. When people noticed that he wasn't putting out updates like he said he was going to, he begrudgingly continued to work on it and "finish" it so people would leave him alone about it so he could focus on the 250,000$ TITS was raking in on Offbeatr

I didn't keep up too much back when TiTS first started and have barely kept up since, but I do recall a rumor of sorts stating that CoC I progress pretty much stalled because Fen hated working with AS3 and highly preferred Flash.
Imagine typing up a long-winded post that could be summarized with "programming cyclic dependencies is a lot more complicated in Java than Flash and I've had to start from scratch as a result." I mean, yeah, you have all the files and code, so conversion should be a bit easier, but still. Pretty sure 99% of their audience is going to cross their eyes before figuring out what the eff Fen is getting to.
Oh, so the reason was disinterest combined with a bit disdain for his audience wanting him to finish a project he promised to finish? Huh. Sounds like another group associated with him...
As much as I love TiTs, I can't help but feel aggravated that some of the characters I actually care about are abandoned, or have almost no content, yet all the generic half-dog "look at me, I will fuck anything that has a penis and moves!" porn-lady-character-#67869 have a billion pages of content, quests, etc.
Like, Synphia, one of my favourite characters, has such a cool personality, such a cool backstory, such a cool design, and yet she effectively is just a vendor for ship things, a uniform, and a, very well written, but still singular sex scene. Where is the option to meet her sister? Where is the option to properly get to know her? Where is the option to invite her to your crew as your ship's designated engineer?
Or, Azra, an actually respectable woman who also has an interesting personality. You have to actually get to know her before she drops her trousers for you, and even then she is still treating it realistically. She is ACTUALLY interesting, has an ACTUAL personality, but hasn't had ANY updates bar a single extra porn scene, since I last played the game 6 years ago.
Jesus christ, it is aggravating. Like, I love the game, and the effort put into it, but for the love of god I hate how any actually remotely interesting character is abandoned in favour of what amounts to generic-slut author fantasies/self-inserts. So like most of the characters, you posted about are specific writer's characters and while I do believe writers get paid for their time on TiTs they most likely have other personal projects or other jobs they have to do. then you have the active writers on the payroll who are writing more content for their characters or the characters they like. If you really like a character that bad contact the writer, get involved with the community, or put some money towards it yourself. otherwise, you're just a person raging at your keyboard.

You are exactly right, and that is what I am complaining about, it seems that the characters that get the most attention, that seem the most "liked by the writers", are the same generic effectively-humans-with-token-animal-parts with the same generic personalities.
Just because there is a reason for it being the way it is, doesn't inherently justify it being the way it is, CoC2, for example, tends to suffer from this far less, with far fewer, but better developed, characters. Nor does it mean it isn't an issue, or isn't something people cannot complain about. Again. TiTS is incredible, however that does not discount the issues that it has, of which this is one that particularly aggravates me.
