I haven't even played the last update yet. I'm saving it like a gold nugget.....
I'll play it when this new update comes out, and repeat the process lol
Same, a couple more updates and then a full replay, to fill the time until the final update.I haven't even played the last update yet. I'm saving it like a gold nugget.....I'll play it when this new update comes out, and repeat the process lol
Yeah ok, having a fucking Gemini reply here is enough for me to unwatch this Thread. Too much stupidity, will just play the game when it is out.View attachment 5537600
If we are going to be serious for a moment, as a subscription based indie porn game, their aim has always been making an never ending game. With that in mind, doing a once a year update is actually outrageous and ludicrous.
A more viable way of is to do seasonal updates, 3~6 months between each updates with enough push with the story plotline especially if it is story based. That model is basically how mainstream gacha game works.
If you are not doing things like that, you SHOULD be finishing the game within 5 years.
All I'm saying is people should be more wise with their wallets, whatever the game and dev you are supporting.
Adding mobile games to a video game metric is going to heavily skew the results since it's like 50% of all games being made nowadaysView attachment 5537600

You do understand that you are comparing a hobby dev to a pro, right?View attachment 5537600

Dude, you have a point, not a very solid or good one so don't get me wrong, but you just shoot yourself in the foot by posting the ss of the AI summary, hell, you could just copy and paste that and it would have started a conversation. But in short: not the same, apples and oranges.View attachment 5537600

No, it's even stupider, he's comparing a single hobby dev to massive gacha dev studios that make unsurmountable amounts of money. You do understand that you are comparing a hobby dev to a pro, right?
Not hating but you do know I'm just stating facts, no?You do understand that you are comparing a hobby dev to a pro, right?
Do you even understand what I was trying to explain? I was not trying to compare indie porn game devs to AAA or gacha giants, but stating this BUSINESS MODEL is what most indie porn game devs also use.No, it's even stupider, he's comparing a single hobby dev to massive gacha dev studios that make unsurmountable amounts of money.
You are kind of right, but sadly you are forgetting a few words that automatically make this a non-pro work, no matter what: Honey Select. Since it uses HS models it can (almost) never be sold because of copyrights. Not hating but you do know I'm just stating facts, no?
According to BaiBai's Subscribe Star, which stands currently...
Tier1 sub ($2) 271, which is $542
Tier2 sub ($5) 124, which is $620
Tier3 sub ($10) 152, which is $1520
Tier4 sub ($25) 10, which is $250
That comes to a total of $2932, with a 5% cut that is $2785.4 monthly and $33424.8 annually.
Roughly 30% Americans earn less then this, this is basically a full time pay of a avarage person.
That's NOT a hobby pay, and if he is NOT a American and from other areas that pay much less, than thats a hell of a pay check.
Also you do play other games on this site, no? Other big names, maybe even smaller names how long are they taking in between each updates?
Like I said, unlesss shit happens it is usually not that long to keep the patrions happy.
It is actually use the loophole as developer claim the game developed in hs is free to public so it is not selling and violated the copyright, while developer also collecting donations every month. Not sure if it actually on court how will the judge go.You are kind of right, but sadly you are forgetting a few words that automatically make this a non-pro work, no matter what: Honey Select. If the full release is available to the public I think it flies and I mean, unless the game had really taken off on steam or something which I doubt, the subs has probably earned more than a full release would anywayIt is actually use the loophole as developer claim the game developed in hs is free to public so it is not selling and violated the copyright, while developer also collecting donations every month. Should remember that he is German which could contribute to him just seeing this as a large self-funding project rather than a job or full commitment, which could be why he brought up the potential of changing the premise or dropping it depending on censorship and suchObviously he is milking the project. If he were serious about development, he would at least hire some people to help with other tasks. Having a full-time salary and progressing this slowly just shows that he slacks off around 90% of the time. I mean, sure, resting is fine—but not 24/7. Plus, when he mentioned that he would abandon the project because long development times, he was obviously bluffing. There’s no way he would let this gold mine stop.
The actual USD amount is a bit more than half of that. Certainly not nothing, but not that either. Not hating but you do know I'm just stating facts, no?

I don't know if that particular feature is clunky (tbh some are, compared to patreon), intentional or not, but that's a pro-consumer thing that patreon should also do. And it further proves that a lot of people forget or don't care about their subscription and are easy targets for milking. The thing with Subscribestar is that its a pretty clunky platform. Back when I unpaused the billing with the release of v0.9 a huge chunk of subscribers from before the pause never re-activated their subscriptions. They count as "not paid subscribers", aren't getting billed and haven't been so since I first clicked that vacation button in 2024. They are, however, still displayed as subs in the numbers you correctly listed. I'm not sure about the inner workings of sstar but my best guess is that those where the "forgot I'm subed to that guy" kind of people I gathered over the years until the billing pause, where the pause kind of acted like a reset for their billing cycles. Since they forgot, however, they never manually re-activated or properly canceled their subscription so they stay as inactive ones and inflate the numbers.
That's not the clunky part of it. With something like that vacation mode where a dev could theoretically stop the billing pause at any point it would be kind of weird if the subscribers wouldn't need to confirm to be charged again. No idea how it works on Patreon, but I would be kind of surprised if it where much different.I don't know if that particular feature is clunky (tbh some are, compared to patreon), intentional or not, but that's a pro-consumer thing that patreon should also do.
