If the MC, Shannon and Maeve were siblings it would be safe to assume their father must be pushing daisies.
But they aren't, so there's a slim chance he's alive.
Since mental illness seems to run in the family, I'll venture to guess he's institutionalized somewhere. He was put away around 18 years ago, shortly after it transpired he had cheated on his gorgeous wife with Shirleen. After that, no one doubted he should be locked up.
Needless to say, Angel is Maeve and Shannon's half sister. Their mothers held this detail back from them, but saw to it that the girls would have a close, sisterly relationship.
Not really related, but dad became a wet-on-wet painting expert. He grew an afro and insists that trees, mountains, stones, Angel... are all happy accidents.
But they aren't, so there's a slim chance he's alive.
