I love these games that use models from Illusion. The characters look great, and I like free-roam games.

With that being said, but the rape scene at the start of the game just turned me off to the rest of the experience, tbh. What bothers me the most is that it is not something you can avoid, it happens. To me, given where I stopped playing the game, all I could gather is that the MC is an hypocritical monster.

I know rape is somewhat a common theme in these kind of games, bus most times you are a given a choice to be, as the MC has put it himself, a person of virtue or not. The lack of power or choice to avoid the rape scene is what bothered me the most. I would like to avoid things like that.

Still, the game looks promising, but it is not for me at the present moment. Might check it again after a couple of updates. I wish you nothing but good fortunes on your endeavours ahead, Sir/Madam GameDev.

Tbh, it's true, the MC is a hypocrite. I mean, that's why he always says "I am a man of virtue", a typical self-hypnosis trick. And that is what this game is about, to make this hypocrite stop lying to himself and embrace all the temptations.
But I have to say something for him on the rape scene. He was drunk, and drunken people do stupid things. After he sobered up, he deeply regretted what he did and tried to do everything to repay. He saved her from an evil dude, provided a house for her to live, recommend her to a job, walked her home every night to assure her safety, and tried to make friends with her. I think that's enough for him, don't you think?
I mean, he is indeed a hypocrite, but he is not evil. And he won't become evil or a monster even when his "virtue level" reduces to 0. This game is not about dark things or ntr at all.

No, the rape scene is not avoidable, but that also was not a fair description of the event either. The MC and the girl were both drunk, and a good portion of the plot involves the MC trying to atone for his mistake, so the characterization of him as an unrepentant asshole treating her as a whore while using his dad's name and money to escape consequences after the fact is not at all accurate.

Whether this is good writing for a game is certainly debatable (as is usually the case when it comes to depictions of rape), but neither the MC nor the plot is nearly as crass as the post you quoted makes it out to be.

Probably should have just left any Rape scenario out of the game if you were never going to invest into it. Nice that you'll add a What if though for those interested in paying for it. Still, makes no sense to me to even bother dipping toes in waters you'll never tread in original story.
