What would you like me to add to the game in the next update?

  • The connection (police) mechanic. This would be a new "currency" and a new batch of upgrades.

  • More events and the possiblity for the packmakers to add some in their packs.

  • The possbility to train the skills of the girls

  • Progress the story and add story missions (mostly focused on Nicole)

  • Something else (tell me either by PM or in this thread).

Disgruntler I dunno if it's feasable but what about implementing a miximum cap of Openness that can be reached for each perfomance. Like Dancing Topless will only get you to maximum 20 Openess or the like? It's kinda weird seeing someone reach 30+ Openness with just dancing alone

I can hard confirm what Thermoflash said.

The way it works is dancing will only get you enough points to start foreplay, and not a point more. Posing is capped before Oral, and so on.

I -can- change this. But I won't. The reason is because having this is a necessary precaution! Let's say you get a girlpack that's missing a tier of stuff. Without this, the only way to get them over the hump is the lounge and that's just not cool. As well, you don't really want a situation where a girl can't train because rng just doesn't give you the one thing you need in the booth.

EDIT:

Connections gain is too high, paring it down. I overcompensated for a previous playthrough where it was starved. I increased the base rate while decreasing the amount gained, with the secretary this should come out a bit better. Not too much, not too little.

Adding in a spender for a girl's personal wealth. If they're going to be taking money might as well make uses for it.

I'm kinda ahead of you on this. Looking at a single cost girl I can see where you're coming from, but when you see all four costs in there it makes more sense how the layout should work.
Just always print the zero costs, then. No reason not to.

There's an argument for avoiding visual noise with zero-spend stuff, but the real reason it's like that is because that's what it always was.

True enough. This kind of feature is what I used to call a 'beat you'. (Pronounced to rhyme with 'feature'.) No matter which way you go with it, some group of users is going to beat you up about it.

I'm not changing the work assignment 'Won't Do' text again though, woof, not without changing everything and creating a new method in the girl class that just standardizes how it's done. Sometimes things just aren't where you think they are. I'm not going to even go into how much time I spent trying to find the place that outputs whether a client is a criminal or a policemanpolitician so that it would display the right client type.

Hi! Always 0. What should I do?
Hi, Happy Hour dev here.

That is your connections stat and that goes up every time a politican visits your club.


This begs the question "How do I make that happen?"

In order to start getting Politicians, you need to have a working relationship with the Gespote crime family. Click on the Gespote icon and using your Influence, buy Patronage.

Once you do, click on 1648936854682.png and that will get you on the Crime Services Sub screen. Buying the option is not enough, you have to agree to pay Nicolette for her goons' attention. Click on Patronage, and then on the bottom, click on the green 'Subscribe' Button. This will ensure that it's active. It costs 50 dollars a day but it's worth it, believe me.

Now, you'll notice a LOT more criminals showing up to your establishment, allowing you to start the influence resource churn. As well, this allows politicians to show up somewhat infrequently. (It'll be more frequent but for less value in the new incoming build.) After that you're golden, and you should start getting the intended resource flow for your mid and end-game upgrades.

I expect further releases to be a bit slower, as the ideas I have require a lot more work to flesh out. I want to take some time and enjoy this for now, and ruminate on what I want to do next.


I don't want to promise I can/will do anything specific, but some ideas that I have:

Duo-Events reworked and made modular

More places for girls to spend their hard earned cash

Scramble Mode

A dump for Connections

Endgame expanded.

Popularity rework

Known issue with paying tuition being larger than amount shown, this is fixed in next build.

Nice! I look forward to trying out the new version. While I'm here I have one suggestion. I had two, but I assume that "scramble mode" is a randomizer for girl stats at the start of the game? In which case that was my first suggestion lol.

My second suggestion is I would like to see events that can proc at the start of each day that girls can be sent to do. e.g., There's a dance competition on the edge of town. Select 1-3 girls to participate. This will take the girls off the board for however many days but they will come back with a skill up and money (or lottery girl) depending on chance/their existing skills. This rewards keeping a larger than necessary stable of girls and adds a little fun. It would also be nice if this is modular so we can add our own events as well. Might be leveraged to create storylines/endgame content.

Obviously this is just a suggestion and you can take it or leave it. I also have no idea how difficult it would be to implement.

Regardless, great job breathing some new life into the game. Also you may want to consider opening up a new thread to get some fresh blood trying out Happy Hour. I'm not sure of the rules on that though.

Yeesssssss. CaptC can't be the only one having this fun.

This actually can work with something I have in my mind. The new class system also rewards having a larger stable. Though, a larger stable will come with its problems...

In the recruiting page I was wondering why certain girls would screw up the ability to select another girl. You had to click the next page before you could choose another one. Whatever you've done in this latest version now shows those girls are lottery girls. I'm guessing they shouldn't show up at all in the recruiting page. Am I the only person affected by this?

If you mean that some are blank and not selectable in the recruit screen you are not the only person affected by it. I am too. I'm not sure what causing it but I know it's not lottery selection because none of my girls are set for the lottery right now, except for Bonnie Rotten (who does show up with the Lottery affixation). Hmm... is this a me only problem?

For the record the missing girls below are Abigaile Johnson, Adriana Chechik, and Adriana Maya.

I figured it out. It was Influence. Any girl that requires influence to purchase is blanked out on the recruit screen.

I am aware of the issue, but the fix requires some complete overhaul of the backend so it's more involved than a lot of the changes I've been doing. However, if I am to impliment some of the suggestions I've received I'd have to do it anyways.

If you hit the next girl or next page and go back it should resolve that.

The overhaul is going to be a necessary one for my plans going forward so I'm going to go ahead and prioritize it, as well as some other minor fixes I'm noticing needs done. Thank you for your feedback, and rest assured I will get this done.

This was original Venus Club behavior. Girls who cost influence would not show until you unlocked the Crime shop. Those girls will show when you do. This is why they're being blanked out. I'm going to be making alterations to the behavior here though, so expect to see less girls here, not more, in the future.

I'm really happy there is continued interest in the game. While there are some people that have really criticised the grindiness of the gameplay or the difficulty, I for one really enjoy all of it. If I wanted to just watch porn there are plenty of other places to go. I think adding stuff and/or extending the endgame is really important for this game to live on.

One thing I may suggest for an expert/insane difficulty or something? All/some girls' stats should be hidden, at the very least in the recruitment page. The price alone for the girl should give you an indication that she should have some advanced stats. I guess like in real life, unless the girl is famous or actually does stuff in an audition, are you really going to know if she is really good at sex etc?

You could take it further and give no colour indicators for skill levels or openness in the main game screen. You just need to remember who is open enough for various acts, who is good or not. Basically the game would behave as now except if you make a girl try to do something they aren't willing to do, there is a (big) penalty to your rep etc. Obviously the negotiator would still be able to push the girl into doing something, but at insane difficulty maybe not reduce the penalty to zero. I suppose you could show her stats in the staff screen so you see how good she is, train her etc.

As someone who has played this game a lot a few things to make things more difficult or force me to change the way you have to play would be awesome. The randomiser has made a big difference. Thanks CaptC. :D

It really isn't a big deal for people who are familiar with the game. You can just ignore those girls, but I guess as someone playing the game for the first time it would be a little confusing.

That's fair enough. Once I unlocked influence they all appeared. But as the first time playing this version it did seem weird. Glad it's on your list. Thanks for the reply.

I certainly want to make things more interesting and engaging and adding ways to trip up one's gameplay is definately a design intent. Hidden information, however, is a little harder to impliment and it's not necessarily in keeping with my goals. Right now, the negotiator can eat a huge amount of influence, which coupled with the fact you need it for things other than the lottery, means that mismanaging openness involves some very difficult choices.

That said, there's some things I want to do to make recruiting a little harder, especially with regards to having cheap girls with high openness/popularity. First things first though, I need to remake the backend.

It's just because they don't show in the recruitment window itself if you tab through normally, so I had to do -something-, as to signal that slot couldn't be selected.

It's a temporary bodge to temporary problem.
