This. It's not like he lacks the luxury to choose which girl's route he wants to progress. Mom is probably the favorite, but most of them aren't too shabby, so pretty much everything is possible. All in all it has quite a few similarities to Teacher's Pets: First there's a distinct lack of good upgrades (0.1.0 was a complete mess for most people), then some weirds things happen (at least he didn't get hacked twice), then there is bad communication paired with new characters that nobody neither needs nor wants at this point because they're just too much. It's definitely not a high quality game, it never was really, but it was ok. I hope he gets back on track with the game.
The one common thread that is actually important is the failure of the developer to be able to patch their own game. This is glaringly obvious with this game, and a similar thing happened with Teacher's Pets, though it wasn't really remarked upon at the time.

When the person creating the game suddenly cannot fix their own shit, it indicates one of two things. First, they may have lost the person coding the game for them. Otherwise, they are just cobbling together pieces of other's code which they do not have the experience to debug when things fuck up. Marvel disappeared into the ether after releasing a piece of shit so buggy it was unplayable. Prior to that, he had released fixes that were never particularly effective or timely. Same thing with Deem. That game was always a buggy piece of shit, but once those bugs got over his head, a super villain hacked his network appliance and he gradually turned into Houdini.

Want to know the next popular game that gets dropped? Just look for a dev that stops patching his releases.

They're similar, but not completely in the same category. While Teacher's Pets seems just like a sloppy "Let's strg+x shit out of the code, patch it up a bit and hope for the best" View of Family (at least 0.1.0) seemed sloppy to begin with. I have to say that I didn't THAT many problems as some others did, but I'm also not really sure if I really came far with this version. I think I skipped it pretty early because something was annoying me.

I dunno. I mean you're right about the symptoms, but the fact that Deem introduced new characters right before (Same with this guy) makes me think something more nefarious is going on. Because introducing new characters shows future promise, right? So if you can patch something, but don't want to and want to get free money, why not introduce new characters and then vanish?

Hey just out of curiosity, does anyone know how to make progress with Mia's classmates, olivia or the girl at the bar, (beyond the first scene where you get her drunk & fuck her in the bathroom I mean)?

Yeah, it was supposed to happen on the next update, but I'm really not sure about this update anymore, it's been so long since the last one, he may have abandoned it after all, sad, very sad, this was a really good game :(

he didn't abandon the game, a month ago he got out of the hospital from eye surgery and after days of healing time, he's back to working on the game

You have to wait like the rest of us for whatever update, if any, he puts them in. That is, if there's ever going to be another update.

Oh come on now. I mean it was just eye surgery after all. I mean it's not like it was anything major that could impede his productivity. I mean sure his vision is impaired but you don't need that to program a game right? (For the slow folks, that's a dig at the people whining that there hasn't been a recent update but are too lazy to do basic research like oh I dunno, checking any communication the dev might have posted about whats going on).

Exactly. I mean you don't NEED to be able to see the coding, renders or text you're working on right? (BTW I'm assuming you picked up on my sarcasm & are playing along with it instead of asking that in earnest).

& you are clearly one of the slow ones I was referring to. Look, I'm not even gonna go into the issues of theft of intellectual property & what not that you are advocating for & just state that The guy just had eye surgery. Give him a little time to recover, I'm sure he will get back to work on the game once his condition improves.

Maybe he can get a seeing eye dog to help him. Actually, the dog would have a better chance of releasing a clean build.

Understandable. But is he billing on a per month basis or per release? If it's per release then there's nothing to get your panties in a wad over. If it's per month, then yeah I can understand some concern as some devs have slapped together a shoddy alpha build of something & used it to milk a few months worth of donations. However even if it's per month, the guy has been communicating with his patrons, his last update was less than a month ago & the guy had eye surgery for crying out loud. Complications may have come up from it. Maybe recovery is taking longer than he thought, Sure I guess it can be argued that he should be less ambitious with promising time tables that he may not be able to meet, but it's still premature to jump all over the guy for not releasing an updated build, especially given the circumstances. I mean we're not talking about stitches on his eyelid, it's his eyeball. If complications arose that are affecting his vision & he has to do more surgery, maybe he can't provide an update currently because he can't see the computer to do so. What should he do then? Ask someone "Hey could you update the patrons for an incest porn game I'm making on what's going on?" It's likely that he is working on this by himself & might be embarrassed if the people who knew him knew what kind of kinks are in the game he's making. Who knows?

Plus most of the people here aren't patrons & are downloading the game for free. Are you guys seriously that entitled that you're bitching about not getting your free content fast enough?

The point is, You all need to chill the fuck out & give the guy some time. Now if 5 or 6 months goes by & there's no update, then yeah, The PAYING PATRONS would be justified in getting irate. But for the people downloading it for free, seriously man. quit bitching.

It's billing per month and without giving too much information he can prevent this situation.
Patreon should add a function "last seen online"..

And like I said in a post above, I care about news/communication. It's more or less my job, keeping customers informed so they don't spam us with questions.
