their "intellectual property" cant be proven
What laws are they talking about? piracy laws vary from country to country and dont carry over at all.
Anyone "CAN" take any action they like, a legal action will cost 10's of thousands (for an international claim) considering your claim doesnt make any sense as far as ownership goes, you almost certainly wont win so there is nothing to worry about.

The game is sending over an unknown amount of information to a private server, which the developer might be using for malicious purposes. Be careful! so why not remove from here to start with then no1 has to worry remove it till he fix that crap

the game is on here so people can actually find out this stuff before they download a pirated version, instead of finding out afterwards that now someone has been stealing information from their device. though moderators already answered this, if you go back a few pages

- did you know that you can't login because our new server is actually banning everyone who's using a pirated version of the game, right?
- did you know that we know everyone that is actually using the pirated version of the game?

So they make a shitty knock off game with low quality copies of other game assets and to top it off it has malicious software that scans your computer and sends the data back to an unknown server (likely to steal personal info for identity theft rackets)
Fortunately for me all my naughty content is on a completely clean and isolated OS that i keep on a separate drive which is isolated. So even if they did "hack" me all they would get is the porn i fap too.

In Europe, even collecting IPs is illegal without (specific) disclaimer.
The IP address is considered as personal data.
The developer has collected personal data (illegally) also with the Patreon version.
If he tried to report someone, not only would he lose the money from the start of the process and the lawyer, but he could also pay those who suffered the data theft.
