Milking for 'abandoned?' comments. It is my genuinely well-trained suspicion that Oceanlab takes sadistic delight in your suffering. Keep commenting, your frustration gives us FOCUS!abandoned or milking?
Gumdrop still writes on Patreon about updates as well. Same here. It's not 'just promises'. It's detailed status updates with accompanying images. Again, I'll admit, Ocean is apparently quite bad at time estimations but the explanations they've given have been reasonable. Compare and contrast the devs that completely disappear for months at a time and just say "yeah definitely still working on this". It's not impossible that someone could milk a project with similar behaviour, but it's a lot more work than people usually put into milking.
Incredible. I had high hopes for the game, but I just noticed he started a new one that I'm not interested with. Now I'm glad I stopped supporting himOctober
Ocean is working on 2 games. The other game had an update in January. And as far as I know he is currently reworking this game. That's obviously going to take some time. Gumdrop has been working on a single part for over 2 years now. Apparently being released on the 23rd of this month. I'm sure anyone here aware of who Gumdrop is, would not be surprised if we don't see that come to fruition.Gumdrop still writes on Patreon about updates as well. Same here.
Well, if I’m completely honest I can’t fault anyone if they wanted to stop supporting him. For myself I’m pretty conflicted. I love his work, but the reality is that you’re looking at one or maybe two updates per year.Incredible. There is a reason why I decided to stop with these "oversized" 35k words chapters until I can do them in 2 months.Well, if I’m completely honest I can’t fault anyone if they wanted to stop supporting him. Tbf reading is very hard. That's why I do mathThere is a reason why I decided to stop with these "oversized" 35k words chapters until I can do them in 2 months.
And besides that, I got the 2nd PC.
But for some reason, people always tend to forget what was said 1-2 Pages ago.
You’ve had the second PC for a while now and it hasn’t significantly sped up development. I don’t even think it’s the size of the updates either, to be honest. There is a reason why I decided to stop with these "oversized" 35k words chapters until I can do them in 2 months.

The second PC has been rendering for 3 weeks now and I am already 155 renders into the "Summer's Gone" update while finishing up WiAB with the other PC.You’ve had the second PC for a while now and it hasn’t significantly sped up development. And I’m not even being critical man, but I think you’ve got to accept that with two games being developed at the same time and with the same level of refinement you give them, you’re not going to have these out on a frequent basis. There’s no shame in that, it just is what it is.
Big words. You should aim for at least one update. But in the end, these are just words.
Let's see where we at after the next 2-3 updates.
man try to make 2 games at the same time alone and show us how it's done .Big words. You should aim for at least one update.
Gumdrop is continously promising new chapters as well without finished just the one next in the line.
It can be 40K or 20K, but it’s really all the same if you get halfway through and decide that the renders aren’t up to par and start again from scratch or if you find that you want to implement a new feature and need to rewrite the code to accomodate it.> "I don’t even think it’s the size of the updates either"
I am pretty sure there is a big difference between a "35k - 40k word" update and a "15-20k" update.
I can certainly see that in the moment the frequency of updates delivery is unstable because of all the reworks and buying a new PC and I can without a doubt say that the progress is going towards stability and will indeed speed up the updates. The second PC has been rendering for 3 weeks now and I am already 155 renders into the "Summer's Gone" update while finishing up WiAB with the other PC.
When WiAB releases in the near future, SG will already be 20-25% done. And then the other PC will start rendering SG, too.
2 months release schedule for future Updates is doable with what was said earlier.
It certainly is speeding up the development.

And I am also not doing any ultra-big Cinematics until I am able to do them in a reasonable amount of time.
My RL time management schedule is roughly 90% on point.
But in the end, these are just words.
Let's see where we at after the next 2-3 updates.
