definitely hope not this is one of the good onesdead?
i dunno man...it looks bleak its basically 2022 already, i'm surprised it isn't marked abandoned at this time...why do devs get lazier when they are basically spending their whole time inside?definitely hope not this is one of the good ones
A better question might be why someone who's been around as long as you still doesn't understand how f95s Abandoned tag is applied?i dunno man...it looks bleak its basically 2022 already, i'm surprised it isn't marked abandoned at this time...why do devs get lazier when they are basically spending their whole time inside?

Oceanlab puts out progress updates here and on his other channels often enough to not warrant the Abandoned tag, which has nothing to do with when the game itself was last updated.Onhold: The game has been confirmed to be on hold by the developer.
Abandoned: The game has been abandoned (confirmed by the dev) or the developer hasn't posted anything related to the game for at least 3 months.
so almost two years of no update just rambling naruto-filler "update jabber" is okay? sounds like someone is squeezing the lemon...literallyA better question might be why someone who's been around as long as you still doesn't understand how f95s Abandoned tag is applied?

But there is no update jabber? Ocean said it will take at least a year for the reworked update, shows previews and is very active. He said himself that right know the wait time for the update is way to long, but as he is not happy with the current Version of the Game he reworks it basically from scratch. He always was pretty open about issues and delays in the development. The only thing he said is that the first rework will drop this year, and for SG at least he kept his word within a span of ~ 6 weeks and explain the dealys that happend. I cannot tell if he is honest but to me it seems he is.so almost two years of no update just rambling naruto-filler "update jabber" is okay? sounds like someone is squeezing the lemon...literally
Here we go again...so almost two years of no update just rambling naruto-filler "update jabber" is okay? sounds like someone is squeezing the lemon...literally
ah. i didn't know he worked on summer's gone...he should definitely stick with that instead, its his best work. Here we go again...
Of course there is always someone who talks without even giving it a single thought and jumping to the worst conclusion there is. So i'll give you a piece of my mind since you're obviously missing some.
Oceanlab is currently working on two games, WIAB and Summer's Gone. He works non-stop , cooking renders 12 hours every day. Two updates of Summer's Gone had been released so far since the release of the old chapter 0.6 while he has been working on the reworked chapter one.
WIAB is Ocean's first game ever. He was inexperienced , lacked some essential skills and was at the dawn of his 3D rendering ability when he started to develop WIAB. So yeah, he made a lot of mistakes and he is fixing them.
As you can see , the dev's skills have been improved to a great extent throughout all these chapters. He picked up all those skills while developing Summer's Gone which had inevitably changed things for WIAB and opened another door that needed to be entered for the sake of this game's and his other planned project's future.
The old chapters are being reworked because there has been made a huge amount of changes on how the story and the plot progresses. That's right it is rewritten. All the events are set in a whole different level now with 99 % new contents including the ones that got removed in the old chapters because of the inability of his old equipment to render those well surrounded backgrounds.
This game is the foundation of all his other planned games including Summer's Gone (They all happen in the same universe and connected). That's why it is necessary for it to be reworked.
The 1st chapter is always the tough one. Since you are starting from the very beginning, you'll have to create new places and backgrounds(what a drag that one is) and refine and define the old models. When you have finally managed to establish a base, the rest becomes easy. The 1st chapter is almost cooked and the tables are being set as we speak.
Not just that , if my memory serves me right , Oceanlab mentioned that the reworked 1st chapter is twice as big as the old chapter 1 (0.1). And it has so much insight that you can find in the old first two chapters alone. It'll be totally worth it.
I can't explain to you in a much clearer way...If this is still not enough of an explanation for you, you can wait till Oceanlab give one right after the update.
Literally? You could hear the sound of someone literally squeezing a literal lemon? If so, the sound is probably coming from someone nearby, not the dev.so almost two years of no update just rambling naruto-filler "update jabber" is okay? sounds like someone is squeezing the lemon...literally
Same here, the way she looked at the MC while the aunt was flirting with him, heart breaking.Even though she is out of focus, Helen remains my favourite and I basically follow this project just for her.
On a different note: man, I'm getting old! I remember I used to play this game from Day 1..
So when can we expect to see "The Book of Helen?"Helen’s the Boba Fett of this game. Very little screentime, but adored by the fans.
Sucks that we probably won’t see any substantial content with her for a few years.
About as long as it took them to follow up Return of the Jedi...So when can we expect to see "The Book of Helen?"
The fact the dev thinks that of this games makes me think the rework will be amazing. I remember playing this game first time and being excited to carry on, it was a good story. I love SG too and the animations in that game was clearly another level so if he wants to rework its fine by me.Like the others said the reworked chapters have new storyline with totally different plots....the dev said a while back that the old chapters were a disease full of nothing but mistakes every left and right , now he is undoing those mistakes by remaking the old chapters so that it would connect acceptably to Summer's Gone.
Or they just realise that the dev's ridiculously dumb "30 chapters planned lmao" plan is laughable at best and blatant lies at worst when it's taking this long just to produce 1 chapter where you don't even have to write all the script from scratch.People get very selfish on here and only think of themselves or pretend to care about others that support it. No one is forced to support anyone and no dev is forced to update a game by your time frame. The best games on this site take a while, they are run by small groups of people at the most and usually just 1 or 2 people.. Have patience and enjoy your free content.

You do realise that he doesn't want to develop alone forever? Just think how much faster the development with two 160hour a month employes would go? This is also one reason he wants to switch to Blender, because there are many professionals working with it on a freelance basis compared to DAZ. Also the script changed apparently around >95% so no script. And he is still producing >50 still renders a day which is way more than most do and at that quality? There is no one.Or they just realise that the dev's ridiculously dumb "30 chapters planned lmao" plan is laughable at best and blatant lies at worst when it's taking this long just to produce 1 chapter where you don't even have to write all the script from scratch.
There are too many ifs in and buts in that. He can hire others to work with him but that's based on the assumption that he'll ever make so much money as to be able to afford someone else to work with him. Then there is the question of his perfectionism. He scrapped entire 6 chapters of a game because he didn't like the story or renders. Things he created himself. How do you know he'll let anyone else work with him on creative parts of the game (rendering or writing) when he is that obsessed with the game being according to his vision? Even DPC doesn't allow anyone to do that despite being this big.You do realise that he doesn't want to develop alone forever?
