Based on the writing and what the patches change for both the old and reworked versions, it seems evident the intended relationship is them as a family otherwise a lot of things make no sense.

So, welcome to the next Dev Log
The last Dev Log was quite a bit controversial due to the changes I made to Scarlet.
And I expected this.
I'm a person that tends to overthink. And that's pretty much what happened with Scarlet. At first, I was like "She looks too young."
Then I was like "Stop overthinking, Ocean."... But what if I was right?
So I made the decision to not do any more renders with her until I got some feedback that either support my thoughts about her looking too young or her being mature enough.
I personally am a huge mature/milf fan and so I just had to go back and change her again. (Gladly, I didn't do any more renders with her.)
The second new version I created just didn't do it for me. That wasn't Scarlet. It felt wrong.
So I did go back to what felt right and left some parts of Scarlet untouched. But changed others quite drastically.
To refresh your memory... Here's the old Scarlet from various chapters.

In Chapter 6 she had a visual upgrade.
So, for the new new one, I custom sculpted her body and changed her hair again. Did some small skin and material changes and that was it. This Scarlet just feels like Scarlet... But I still had to do some changes to make her fit more to her updated personality and story. (4k version attached.)

While the old Scarlet always embedded some sort of Rocker theme, the new one needed some "classy" drops.
With the next Dev Logs, I will show some actual in-game renders with the new model.
2. Zoey and Katie
Now we get to the next point of today's Log.
Two other well-known characters will be previewed.
I did preview Katie before and she didn't get changed much. Zoey on the other hand got a full-out rework.
In the old WiAB, I wanted to start Zoey's story much MUCH later. Which was a big mistake because a major story point would've started way too late.
In the new WiAB, Zoey's story will begin within the next two chapters and quite some lore will be dropped on you.
Let's get to some visuals. First the old ones.

One thing I always hated about Zoey was her weird body. She had huge tits, a super narrow hip, and a big ass.
I had already previewed her with these two renders:

Her body got custom sculpted and reworked her skin map.

There's one issue I still have with her and it's the SSS (Subsurface Scattering.) I will work on that while I go through the update.
Now Zoey... Good old Zoey... She gave me quite the headache and I tried a lot of different variations.

The new Zoey changed quite a lot.
Besides the obvious hair and skin material changes, I also changed her body.
She's now thicker and a little chubbier. I will preview some actual body shots of her in the upcoming logs.
And her personality also got updated. She still has some things from the old Zoey but she's way less "Sexual for the sake of being sexual."
So yeah, I guess that was it.

Now that's an age-appropriate face & hair for Scarlet.
While that outfit is sexy as fuck, it still screams "I'm a trophy wife past my prime but I'm trying to hang on to that status with an over the top slutty outfit". But if that's the goal then bravo! Well done.

Ok, we are read and appreciated here at F95 . In the Patreon post there were two or three criticisms that Scar was too young, on Discord I read some comments in passing, but this is where we said she looked too young. It's a great improvement the new Scar, I still prefer the Scar from episode 6, but now I can see her and say that she looks her age, and she is very beautiful too.
Zoey... all improvements for her, better face, a more real body according to what Ocean says and freckles! I mean, they covered me a redhead under the blue hair?
Finally, a render in game of the goddess herself, Katie, she was already perfect, she was perfect in the previous previews and continues to be perfect in this last one. Pure beauty.

While some of the recent changes are decent (Scarlet), I do wonder why they are being done so late in the development. It pretty much means that he hasn't finished any scenes with the characters he just now came up with. Aren't character designs something he should have finished ages ago? Why does he do that in the middle of the rework? I thought he had finally a plan, one that he can stick to?
I also don't understand why the new Zoey isn't a rocker chic anymore - it alters her whole dynamic with Katie and their friendship. She's more or less the clone of the chubby girl from the camping trip now, which is a stupid idea for many reasons.

I don't like the new Zoey either, the optics alone don't appeal to me anymore. Should Ocean keep her personality and only change her optics, it doesn't really fit together in my opinion. Just the dynamic between Katie and Zoey... Zoey was a wildcard in the old WIAB, one that i found very appealing in the old version.
Nevertheless, it is entirely Ocean's decision how he designs the characters and personalities and we have to deal with it whether we like it or not. At the moment we are comparing apples and oranges because we don't know whether the dynamics in the game will develop as we know it from the old version or whether it will also be reimagined.
For me, however, it is clear that the new Zoey is no longer to my taste visually - sadly, i liked her very much. There are certainly some people who will find that chance appealing and i think it's good if there's something for everyone. Who am I to judge? Like everyone else, I don't have to like everything.

Exactly. She isn't the type I would normally go for but that's a good thing in my opinion. You could write her as an enabler (body modifcations) and still make her charming person you'll learn to appreciate.
Not that the old design of Zoey was outright ugly or anything, but I think it's important to be a bit more diverse and have the guts to show different beauty standards that fit the character's profile. Look how all the majority of SASE models (DAZ3D) suffer from the same boring Barbie doll look - who wants that?

Can I go ahead and assume the NTR in this reworked game refers to the sharing content?.. Im only saying this because compared to the old Miru the new one seems to not be the type to cheat on MC, she wasn't all that happy when MC mentioned the whole sharing thing and she just seems more dedicated and loyal while the old Miru clearly wanted to fuck Dylan and maybe her ex and this was even after I turned off the NTR.. Perfehaps it's too soon for me to judge the new Miru like that but she seems waaay more likable than the original Miru she's also waaaaaaaaay more attractive.
