hey i am new here
just wanted to know
there are two versions given
0.6 before rework
and 0.1 version
which one do i have to play first ?
According to Ocean you should only play the rework... but, I recommend you to play first the old WIAB (0.6) it has very good things even though Ocean hates it, that if, go knowing that the story is broken and will not continue.

You don't have to play either one first. They are independent. "Before rework" is a dead end that will not continue. "Rework" is the current game being worked on. It'll have roughly similar overall plot as the "before rework" version but even how the story will get there will be different.

In just a couple of days I finished both Summer's Gone and Where It All Began. Since I saw some interesting comments about the 'old version' of WIAB, I decided to give it a go too.
Not saying it was bad, but I'm glad Ocean decided to 'remaster' it. The new models and little tweaks look GREAT (and I know I'm in the minority, but I really like the MC's look, hair included :p).
Old version was staring to get too unbelievable at some point, but the new version seems to have more natural dialogue.
I also loved the new atmosphere: It feels hauntingly beautiful, gives you an aura of nostalgia and mystery that the first version didn't give me. And hell, the cinematics are soooo goood.
I also struggled to like Miru in the ov. In the current one, she still isn't my favorite :p but I found her more likeable and human.

If Dana was his schoolmate when the MC ran away, we should assume that she is 25/26 years old, maybe 27 to be sure... (same age for the MC)
But we still don't know what the new story is like for Dana.
Isn't 27 too much? The age difference between mc and Katie is too much

We don't really know that either, we don't know Katie's new story. So far we know that the MC left being 16 years old, if Katie entered college she should be 18/19 maybe? Let's say 20 if we want to secure things at TOS level, that's 6/7 years difference, which is no big deal. But I insist, we still don't know anything about the new story, we only know that the MC ran away at 16.

Gotta love the “realism” that’s so touted, dozens of women with tits bigger than their heads.
Its about the overall art, not the body proportions dude. For me these new designs are way better and make the girls more attractive. In the original I thought the MC's Gf was ugly as hell

When you have people literally describing this game as the absolute peak of realistic storytelling and above all the other low-brow porn on this site, it comes across as a bit ridiculous when there’s dozens of women with huge porn star tits.

I wish the dev would focus on one game for a time. Two are clearly too much. It will be years before this game gets even close to the old version with the current development time

Damm shame
That's what I was thinking. I like SG a little more, but I wouldn't care which one Ocean decided to focus on, as long as he kept updating it.
Not only are the updates slower this way, but it also surprises me he hasn't fall victim of burnout. I've tried to work in 3 different stories at the same time, and I ended up having to put 2 of them on hold because it was affecting my ability to write, and it made me feel so tired and uninspired.

Realistic storytelling means putting characters in believable situations and having them act like believable, multi-faceted people. Whether the characters have idealized proportions or not doesn't factor into it, unless the situations they're put in specifically makes a point about said appearances lol.

Since the only reality is "Ocean does not want to leave the game", giving that as the only possible answer, I propose you to think about the different scenarios that can occur:
Put SG on hold: would you put your most popular game, the one that grows little by little with each passing month despite the long periods of development, on hold for an indeterminate time?
Put on pause WIAB: if SG advances steadily, not as a stand alone but as part of a universe that starts in WIAB, wouldn't that make every connection or easter egg a possible major spoiler? would you play later a game where you know some of the plot beforehand? because spoilers in SG that connect directly with the main characters of WIAB would be huge spoilers?
Abandon WIAB: if you can't pause a game because the other would uncover secrets, you can only leave it unfinished, ...
Last but not least, what nobody thinks is even a possibility, abandon SG.
I also believed that the reasonable thing to do was to put something on pause, but that implies so many problems that in the end the only thing left is to abandon the less successful project.
And I insist, the only answer is the official one, Ocean is not going to abandon WIAB.

realistic and believable are not the same thing...
You can create the most unrealistic fantasy universe and still make your story believable...

I think character appearance can break immersion in storytelling, and hurt believability. For instance, Helen and Scarlett’s revamped designs made them seem far too young to look like mothers of multiple adult children. The aesthetic can absolutely effect the narrative.
