You're complaining cause Ocean is trying to be transparent about what's going on, and if he didn't post this somebody else would be bitching cause he's 'keeping patrons and consumers in the dark', so there's never a win-win situation here.
For what I've noticed the majority of people likes to know about this stuff though (sometimes they even learn a thing or 2 about it). But being an absolute brat just cause YOU don't like explanations is something else.

He isn't complaining about it, he's telling what his plan is to reinvest the income from SG (ch5) and WiAB (ch3) Steam release.
And if you had any reading comprehension you would understand he's actually lowering the bar and switching solutions compared to his original one. And he's doing that precisely to explain his patrons what he plans to do to tackle the long dev time.

yeah, yeah, promises, promises, he said same thing when he needed money for animation software to speed up animations, update takes just as long to release. Before that he said "when I get X amount of money I'll buy a new video card which will help me dish out an update every 6 months, I promise" and here we are, he got the money he wanted, but the promise was broken.
But please, continue with the ass kissing, don't let me stop you.
Also, his problem isn't better hardware, he could easily buy new pc, simple fix, it's his meandering, he at some point delayed update for a month or two cause he couldn't find the music he wanted. There's always something with him that compels him to delay the release, always.

You know what pisses me off?
If you follow the development of these games you never know what's going on in the development side. You never know what's happening right now, what the plans for the future are.
Then you have Ocean that's open to a fault. He says what's working, what's not, what he's trying to do even if sometimes it doesn't work, where he spent his supporters money and where he plans to spend the incoming one.
Then there're <REDACTED> like you that are just waiting to use all of that against him.
And that's why today in AVN we don't have release dates anymore. Why we don't even have release windows, why we know literally nothing of what's going on.

Yeah, so could I, if only I had a spare EUR 6,000-10,000 laying round to buy something appropriately spec'ed. I wish real life was as easy and simple as you claim.
You may be right, but there is also the problem that unfortunately, for the ambitious renders Ocean makes, he needs an insanely expensive PC. Especially since the Iray scam is based on not allowing you to use the system RAM to load the scenes, so you're limited to the RAM of the videocard. To my shock, ever since upgrading to Windows 10 I can't render scenes I used to be able to render in Windows 8 since the OS uses half of my 4 GB VRAM. Loading a portrait of Victoria 9 and a hair piece fucking required 7,9 GB of RAM. IOW a card with 8 GB is not even enough anymore, especially if new models are going to be using 8000 pixel textures (they are now at 4000). Add to that HD geometry and the environments and you're sure to need a big card. The only cards that have a reasonable price are the 12 GB ones.
And then pay the electricity bill of like 300Euros, if not more, every month for that single PC. I pay 70 and have one PC with a 970 that runs maybe 6-8 hours a day on average, still I had to pay another 500 last month because I used too much. The prices in germany are ludicrous since a few years.

Those eyes up in the header are like a damn invitation to dive in deeper... The renders are giving off that "something big's coming" vibe, no doubt. Steering clear of that NTR stuff, but major kudos for giving us a shot at it. Big shoutout to you for providing this chance, and mad luck to the devs on their journey!
