Actually a foster or step sibling would have potentially more of the love/hate rivalry. If we take Willi and Leia as related (prior THE redaction) with all of them foster children because Dylan's sterile but Helen wanted kids, there could EASILY be the kinds of dynamics we've already seen, with Willi and Leia ganging up on Katie, Dylan not knowing how to dad properly and setting them up in pit fights, Helen finding Willi attractive, it's a whole lot more plausible, still has the taboos, but elevates Leia and Willi's plot.
Hardest of disagrees, Bob! On absolutely all counts!

What is it about Miru that makes her stand out as more attractive than all the other women in WiAB? Let’s theorize about that...
She's very, very pretty, badass, has a high libido, very pretty, reasonably sized boobs, fun, probably not completely insane, also very pretty.
Her rivalry with Daphne is of course. But it is temporary, soon Daphne will outshine her again.

We've been through this disagreement too many times for to even register, but in a few more days, you get to read a script while I get to look at renders :BootyTime:

I'm not saying that everyone's relationships have equal intensity. But the same is true on your side of the argument. Everyone has different values, and most of that is related to the amount of care they were or weren't shown growing up, abuse they suffered or were rescued from - there are no standard ways to feel, no right or wrong way. I know some people who wouldn't lift their foot off their dad's neck to stop him from drowning. Another friend of mine is wondering why he doesn't feel anything from his dad's assisted dying. Saying it has to be one way to match one experience is an opinion - evryone will feel different things when confronted with the same situation.

Besides, I'm surprised this is the hill you want to make your stand on - especially seeing you can't stand the sight of Helen, there's no way any interaction with her will feel natural for you :coffee::sneaky:

I also disagree completely with your earlier post, as I've mentioned before, but I absolutely agree with this one. Yeah, families are often messy and complicated in all their flavors. I would just have "liked" this, but I am out of reactions, and due to my previous vocal disagreements in this conversation, I just wanted to let you know.

As social beings since we are born, we have patterns that mold us, one of them is the family. The management of relationships is given by that scar, whether for good or bad, we understand better what is "right" or "wrong" in intrafamily relationships as a result of that first molding that is instilled in us.
We need much more explanations when that familiarity does not exist, the taboo is simple to say "they are siblings", you don't need anything more than that.
In other cases you will delve into a thousand and one circumstances and still a large part of the world will say "ah but they were not siblings".
That an interesting story can be built around approaches to the taboo, never means that they are the same thing.

My problem is that you are focusing too hard on the players general perception of family and too little on Ocean's job to show us the Zane family dynamics.

Nothing is ever gonna make me see foster/step families the same as I do blood ones. Period. Pointless to even try. That doesn't mean that I can't buy whichever familiar dynamic Ocean wants to sell me. All he needs to do is do a goddamn good job at selling it. And IF his intention is to sell me that Willi and Leia are not blood related to Helen, Dylan and Katie he needs a complete script overhaul. The current laid out context is, in my view, completely incompatible with that notion.

Same thing with William coming back to Wollust. I'd have to be a lobotomized, crayon-eating chimp to accept that it makes the slightest lick of sense that he would come back, given all the context we currently have, because the perfectly healthy fat "mother figure" got hit by a silence curse.

The same way I'd have to be a lobotomite to buy that in SG, the MC and Nami aren't blood related. It's not that I don't want it to be true. It's simply that everything the goddamn dev has shown me so far SCREAMS that to be the case.

I know these issues stem from dodging the incest police. I get that. Doesn't mean I'm gonna give this shit a pass if it makes no goddamn sense whatsoever. Dude's reworked his games how many times now? And it somehow makes less sense now than it did before. Just sell me an above average story that is somewhat grounded in reality and common sense. It's not that much to ask, is it?

Let's revisit this after the release to see if it makes sense, no point guessing and rehashing it now.

To clarify:

"Nothing is ever gonna make me see foster/step families the same as I do blood ones."

Sure. I'm not arguing they're the same. But there can be equivalence, that is my position. Someoen raised with no knowledge of their birth parents doesn't know there is anything other than they way they are raised. They have equivalnt dramas because of it. Everyone's molehill is someone else's mountain to climb. My position is clearest put in that the story can be told convincingly several different ways. I get that the fetish side of things will always be exclusive to one particular story over the others. My goal isn't to challenge the fetish, but to understand how the story can work.

We'll see if Ocean is convincing you in a week, most likely I'll be fine, because it's not a make or break issue for me.

The tricky part is how Patreon will view the linked worlds and history. They are not ... cautious ... about nuking shit, and they don't have a good appeal process.
Ocean has to be careful with this, sinc SG is still on Patreon. And these shenigans by the Patreon bigots is a reason any writer who wants his vision staying intact, should longbowman salute Patreon each day and stay away from these small minds! Currently they "just" are rabid about "dirty" stuff, but how long until crime stories or thriller come under attack, because they are violent and "criminal". You can see the onset of this with the bunch of wildsprutting assinine warning labels! FFS, when I read a thriller that there will be violence is a given! How dumb do these people think we are? If we are not careful and let these woke flat fappers continue their work, even books like "Maja, the Bee" will be full of warning labels one day! (End of rant)

When will the next chapter drop? I thought I had seen at some point that it would be in June. Was there any new update to the release date that I've missed?

It's probably somewhere in these comments above, but I'm employed, so if someone would be so kind, I'd appreciate it

It's been mentioned many times over the last few pages...

Not sure what being employed has to do with opening up Steam and looking.

This game is not yet available on Steam
Planned Release Date: Jul 4, 2025
This game plans to unlock in approximately 3 days

He is about to release on Steam. I am not sure if the release will include new content or just a curated Steam version.

And the time of release really depends on Steam now.
