The frames of reference are:

1. "Gigachad" was 16 when he left.

2. He was framed a little under a month after he left.

3. The amount of time "Gigachad" spent in remand awaiting trial and then sentencing isn't stated.

4. "Gigachad" spent two years in Monte Ardente prison.

5. When "Gigachad" was released from prison, Miru already had a boyfriend. How long Miru stayed with this boyfriend before hooking up with "Gigachad" isn't stated.

6. Miru states in the present that she's been with "Gigachad" for "five years, three months and eleven days."

3. & 5. make calculating the exact amount of time since "Gigachad" absconded impossible. Added to that, "Gigachad's" current age is never stated.

If, for example, 3. and 5. total, say, 12 months, then he was away from Wollust for roughly 8.5 years.

Besides, "Gigachad's" relationship with Leia was NOT the reason why he left Wollust at age 16. If "Gigachad" and Leia did "something," it could've happened some time before he left, not immediately before. PS - I know many of us thought Leia was directly the reason why "Gigachad" left Wollust, but the real reason was set up in the original Chs 1-3, not just in the reworked Chs 1-4. It's likely only the minutiae behind the reason was altered.

Couple of points in no order.

Ocean did not said once that William was 26 ? I ain't sure where I am pulling this information from but I don't think it is out of my ass. Either way. William has tops 30, he can't have more than that so we can speculate a little still

The reasons was never stated cleary, but was so heavily implied that if not Leia I don't know what could have been. It was something William did and Katie threatened to tell "them" - presumably - Dylan and Helen but William was more concerned of Katie telling "her" - presumed by me- their then Grandmother now something else. At the time the only think that made full sense was they being a little bit too close, now... maybe Leia was in contact with her uncle ? They could have been looking for their families. If this is the reasons things may start to work a whole lot better.

Curious too about when William and Miru relationship started. In the farm when they are talking about the first time they had sex William cuts himself short, at the times I assumed right after he was out of jail, but now we know that Miru was in a relationship and she dosen't seem to have cheated.

There may be unaccounted for time, as mentioned above: jail and trial, time before Miru left her boyfriend and hooked up with Will. Yeah, I'd guess 8-10 years.

He also didn't just leave because of Katie. That made him try to move on from Leia with Mon, which led to the hilarious horrorshow at the party. Him realizing that he wanted to be with Leia after using Mon as a cocksleeve, and the possiblity of being outed by Katie is what made him leave then and there. He left straight from the party.

I am assuming William is in the 24 to 26 range. I wonder what Miru's age is? William was 16 when he first met her. Is it realistic that a 15- or 16-year-old Miru left Japan and went to live in Wollust solo?

The Ch 4 adds the relationship taboo between Will and Katie, meaning he fled to avoid a much wider wrath:

I'm kinda holding my breath and waiting to see if future updates clarify many, many things, so I don't want to pass to much judgement on the changes.

The whole Mafia thing is what it is. I more shake my head at Ocean's version of how he thinks the mafia operates, more than the mafia inclusion in the story. Most of the plot holes I picked up on are about simpler things that I don't think make sense even in the OceanVerse.

If you look at the dialogues, it's pretty clear the kiss and Katies threat to reveal it was a fundamental reason. However, it may not be the only one, since Katie says: "My theory is that this was the first domino to fall in you, making a run for it." If there are second, third, forth dominoes, then they have not yet been revealed, so we can only speculate.

... and, bejesus! The Mafia stuff is a mind-f##k! There is just so much of it and s-o-o-o many families. I think Ocean is gonna need to keep using those FBI boards just so players can wrap their heads around it.

My pet peeves regarding those boards and the Mafia...

No, it is IMPLICIT that the first kiss happened before he left because he blames Katie for threatening to reveal it as a reason why he left, and their various conversations about it go back to before he kisses Katie in Ch 4.

Adding fuel to the "Katie and Will definitely kissed" fire because she mentions it at one point. That said, there's the possibly Katie is an unreliable narrator and is just teasing him but I don't buy it. Plus I can imagine a younger Katie doing it and then using it as blackmail material.
